MASBOOQ

A person who has joined the Imaam whilst the Imaam is in RUKOO', will be regarded as one who hasperformed the complete Rak-' at. Once the Imaam has completed theRukoo'and a person then joins the Imaam, hehas missed aRik-'at. Such a person is known as aMASBOOQ.

A person who has missed anyRik- 'atand then joined the Jamaa-'at, he should continue the Salaatwith the

Imaam to the end. Once the Imaam turns to say the SECOND SALAAM, theMASBOOQshould stand up and complete the

missed number ofRAK'AAT.

If theMASBOOQ has missed only ONERIK'AAT, he should stand up when the Imaam says the finalSALAAM, and read THANA, TA'AWWAZ, TASMIAH, SURA FAATIHA and anotherSURA; and thereafter complete theSalaat.

If theMASBOOQ has missed TWORIK'AATin theFAJR, ZUHR, ASR orESHA; he should stand up when

the Imaam says final Salaam, and read THANA, TA'AWWAZ, TASMIAH, SURA FAATIHA and anotherSURA in thefirstRik'at, and only SURA FATIHA and anotherSURA in the secondRik'atand thereafter do QAADA andcomplete the Salaat.

If however a MSABOOQ has missed TWO RIK'AAT in MAGHRIB Salaat, he should read, THANA,TA'AWWAZ, TASMIAH & SURA FAATIHA anotherSURA in the firstRik'atand sit forQAADAH, and thereafterstand and recite SURA FATIHA & anotherSURAT the lastRik'atand complete the Salaat.

IfTHREERak-'aatwere missed in ZOHR,ASR orESHA, the Masbooq should stand up after Imaams finalSalaam and read THANA, TA'AWWAZ, TASMIAH, SURA FAATIHA and a Surah in the FIRSTRak'at, thereafter make

Rukoo'and SajdahbutBEFOREstanding up for the SECONDRak'at, make QA'DAH(sit down), read Tashahhudand

then stand up for the SECONDRik' at.

In the secondRak'atrecite SURAH FAATIHAHand anotherSURAH, complete the secondRik'atand WITHOUT

sitting for Tashahhud, stand up for the THIRDRik'at. In the thirdRik'atread ONLY SURAH FAATIHAHonly and

complete the Salaat.

If a person has missed all theRak'atof anyNamaaz, then he should REPEAT the wholeNamaazafter the

Imaam has said the Salaam except that he shouldNOT raise his hands to sayALLAHU AKBAR (Takbeer) in the FIRST

Rik'at.

One should NOT join the Jamaa-'at after the Imaam recites theFIRST SALAAMto complete the Salaat.

A PERSON SHOULD NOT RUN IN THE MUSJID T JOIN THE JAMAA- 'AT IF HE IS AFRAIDOF MISSINGANY RAK'AT. IT IS NOT PROPER TO RUN IN THE MUSJID

SAJDAH-E-SAHW

If anyone or several of the wajib acts of salaat is left out forgetfully, it becomes wajib to makesajdah-e-sahw. By making sajdah-e-sahw, the salaat becomes proper. If one does not make sajdah-

e-sahw, the salaat will have to be repeated.

If one forgetfully leaves out a fardact of salaat, the salaat will not become proper by making

sajdah-e-sahw. It wilI have to be repeated.

The method of making sajdah-e-sahw is that in the last rakaat the person should recite. Theat-tahiyyaatonly and thereafter makesalaam towards the right only and then make twosajdahs

andrepeat the attahiyyaatand thereafter recite the durood, dua, makesalaam to both sides andthereby complete his salaat.

If a person forgetfully makes two rukus or threesajdahs, it is wajib to make Sajdah-e-sahw.

While in salaat, a person forgot to recite Surah Faatihah and only recited anotherSurah, or he firstrecited a Surah and then recited Surah Faatihah sajdah-e-sahw will become wajib.

To recite anotherSurah (afterSurah Faatihah) in all the rakaats ofsunnah and nafl salaatis wajib.If a person forgets to recite anotherSurah in any of the rakaats, he will have to make Sajdah-e-sahw.

In a three or fourrakaat fard sa/aat, when the person sat for the at-tahiyyaatin the second rakaat,and after the at-tahiyyaat if he recited the following from the durood:

or if he recited more than that and then remembered that he was supposed to stand up for the thirdrakaat, even then sajdah-e-sahw will become wajib, and if he recited less than this, sajdah-e-sahwwill not become wajib.

A person sat down forat-tahiyyaatbut mistakenly recited something else, or he recited SurahFaatihah. Sajdah-e-sahw will become wajib.

THEMUSAAFIRS (Travellers) NAMAAZ

InSHAREE-' ATa person who starts the journey of a place distant 77 kms. (48 miles) or more, from

the end of his city of abode.

Intends toREMAINat the destination for LESS than 15 days, is called MUSAAFIR.

A MUSAAFIR who intends remaining at his new destination for 15 days or more, will be reckoned

as a Musaafir during his journey only. Once he reaches his destination, he will not be a Musaafir.

A Musaafir should make QASR of theZOHR, ASR andESHA (FARDH only), Le. one must perform

TWORikat Fardhonly instead of FOURRak'aat.

There is no QASR in the.Fardh of Fajr and Maghrib.

Similarly, there is no QASR of Witr, Sunnat or Nafl Salaat.

A MUSAAFIRwho performs hisNamaazbehind a MUQEEM IMAAM, (who is not a Musaafir) should

perform the full four Rak'aat in the Zohr,Asr and Esha Fardh.

If the Imaam is aMUSAFIR, he should inform the Muqeem Muqtadees that he would do Qasr

in his Salaat, of Zuhr, Asr & Esha (as the case may be) so when he says the final salaam, the muqtadees

should stand up and complete the remaining two Rak'aat.

(And when you travel in the earth it is no fault on you if you shorten Salaat.)

SALAAT OF THE SICK

Under no condition shouldSalaatbe left out. As long as a person has the strength to stand up

and offer hisSalaat, he should stand up. If he cannot stand, he should sit down and offer his

Salaat. He should make hisRuku while sitting. After the Ruku, he should go down for the two

Sajdahs. He should make theRuku in such a way that his forehead comes in line with his knees.

If he is unable to makeRuku and Sajdah as well, he should make them by gestures (ishaarah) and he

should bow down a little further for the Sajdahs.

If a person does not have the strength to sit, he should lie down with a pillow or large cushion behind

him in such a way that his head is raised quite high - in fact, close to the sitting position. His legs

should be stretched towards the Qiblah. If he has some strength, he should not stretch them, instead,

he should raise his knees. He should then offer his Salaatby makingIshaarah and theIshaarah for

the Sajdahs should be mire lower. If he cannot lie down by having a pillow or cushion behind him in

such a way that his head and chest face the Qiblah, he should stretch his legs towards the Qiblah and

lie flat on his back. However, he should place a pillow under his head so that at least his face could be

in the direction of the Qiblah and not facing the sky. He should then offer his Salaat through

Ishaarah, and theIshaarah for the Sajdahs should be slightly more than theIshaarah for theRuku.

If a person does not lie flat on his back, but instead lies on his left or right side while facing towards

the Qiblah and makesRuku and Sajdah with theIshaarah of his head, then this is also permissible.

However, it is better to lie flat on the back.

Because of some sickness, a person offered part of his Salaatsitting down and also made theRuku in

the place ofRuku and the Sajdah in the place ofSajdah. Thereafter, he recovered in that verySalaat.

He should therefore stand up and complete the remainder of his Salaat.

If the bed of a sick person becomes impure and it will cause the sick person muchdifficulty if it were to be changed, it will be permissible to offer Salaat on that very bed.

A doctor carried out an eye operation upon a person and prohibited him from moving about. He

should continue offering his Salaatwhile lying down.

On Fridays instead of Zuhar prayers Jumuah Salat is Fardh on all FREE MAJOR, SANE , HEALTHYAND MUQEEM MEN. Greater emphasis has been laid on SALAATUL JUMUAH than on ZUHARPRAYERS.

It is FARDHon Minux CHILDREN , SLAVES, MAD , SICK , BLIND PERSONS , MUSAFIREEEN &

WOMEN,and those who have from valid excuse eg. fear of enemy or very heavy rain. They shouldperformZUHAR PRAYERS in stand.

THE CONDITIONS FOR PRAYING THE JUMU'AH SALAAT

1. TheJumu'ah Salaatshould be in a city,BIG VILLAGEor a TOWNlike the CITY. It isNOTPROPER to perform the Jumu'ah Salaat in a Small Village.

2. Jumu'ah should be performed atZohrtime.

3. KHUTBAH (Address by the Imaam) should be deliveredBEFOREthe Salaat.

4. The Salaat-ul-Jumuah should be read with Jamaa-'at. It is compulsory to have atleast three men besides the Imaam to offer the Salaat, or else the Salaatwill not bevalid.

5. IZNE AAM (permission to all to attend).

If all these FIVE CONDITIONSare found, performing of theJumu'ah Salaatwill be CORRECT.

Before the Jumu'ah Salaat the Imaam should sit on the MIMBAR (pulpit - the raisedplatform in the Musjid) and the Muazzin should call out the Azaan in the presence of the

Imaam. The Imaam should then stand up and deliver theKHUTBAHfacing the congregation. ItisMAKROOHE TAHREEMEEto deliver theKHUTBAHin any language besidesARABIC.

After the FIRST Khutbah the Imaam should sit down for a while and then stand up againfor theSECOND Khutbah.After the second Khutbah the Imaam should step down and stand inFRONTof theMEHRAAB or the ARCH. The Muazzin should call out the TAKBEER and thosepresent should stand up and offer theirSalaatwith theIMAAM.

The Azaan for the Khutbah could be said in FRONT of the Khateeb (the persondelivering theKhutbah), near theMimbar, from the Second or Third Row of the Musallees, atthe END of the Rows or from outside the Musjid. It is ALLOWED in ALL the ways.

1. Talking. 2. OfferingSUNNATandNAFL Salaat.

3. Eating. 4. Drinking.

5. replying to any TALK. 5. Reciting the QUR' AAN SHAREEF, etc.

All those things whichDISTURB theKhutbahbecome MAKROOHfrom the minute the

THE QADHAA SALAAT


:




To say every Salaatat the specified time is FARD on every matured man &

woman.

If however, any Salaatis not said at the right time, it is WAJIB (Compulsory) to

read it later as QADHAA.

To DELAY anyFARDH, WAJIB & SUNNAT-E-MUAKKIDHASalaatintentionally is

very sinful.

If an individual has missed LESS than Six Salaatafter puberty, he/she must dotheirQADHAA in the SAME order.

QADHAA-E-UMREE - If however an individual has missed MORE THAN SIX

SALAATafter puberty, and is feeling repentant for the same, he/should perform

theirQADHAA as under.

(1) The individual should try hard to recollect the exact days/timings

of the prayers missed, and do theirQADHAA in the same order.

(2) If it is not possible to recollect the exact days/timings of the missed

Salaats, then ONE SHOULD immediately START DOING QADHAAof one missed Salaatat the time of each Salaat- with theNayyat

(intention) that he/she is doing QADHAA of the FIRSTmissed Salaat

(ofFAJR, ZUHAR, ASR, MAGHRIBorESHAas the time be).

Continue doing this until satisfied that the QADHAA of all missed Salaats has

been performed.

If however, this individual dies whilst he/she has not yet completed the

QADHAA of all missed Salaats, it is earnestly hoped the Gracious Allah shall

protect him from the punishment of the remaining missed Salaats on account

of the individuals good intentions.

At the time of solar eclipse (Kusoof) twoRakaats ofSalaatare Sunnah.

Salaatul Kusoofhas to be offered withJamaaton the condition that it is led by

the Imam ofJumuah Salaat, the ruler of that time or his deputy. According to

one narration, it is permissible for the Imam of every Musjid to perform this

Salaatin his Musjid.

There is no Adhaan orIqaamah forSalaatul Kusoof. But in order to gather the

people, this announcement can be made: As-SalaatuJaamiatun i.e. The Salaat

is about to commence withJamaat.

It is Sunnah to recite lengthy Surahs such as Surah Baqarah in Salaatul Kusoof,

and also to lengthen theRuku and Sajdahs. The qiraatshould be made silently.

After the Salaat, the Imam should occupy himself in dua and the Muqtadis

should continue saying aameen to his duas. This dua should continue until the

eclipse disappears. However, if in this state, the sun sets or the time of a certain

Salaatenters, the dua should be stopped and the Salaatshould be offered.

Two Rakaats of Salaatare also Sunnah at the time of lunar eclipse (Khusoof).

However, Jamaat is not Sunnah for this Salaat. The people should offer this

Salaatat their homes individually. It is not preferable to got to the Musjid.

In the same way, if some fear or calamity is experienced, it is preferable to offer

Salaat. For example: there is a severe Hoorricane, and earthquake, lightning,

thunder storms, a lot of snow falls, very heavy rain falls, a certain disease such as

cholera becomes rife or there is a fear of a certain enemy. However, whatever

Salaat that is offered in this time should not be offered with Jamaat. Eachperson should offer his Salaatat home individually. WhenRasulAllah sallAllahualayhi wa sallam experienced any difficulty or sorrow, he used to occupy himself

in Salaat.

When there is a need for water and there are no rains, then at such a time it is

Sunnah to make dua and askAllah Subhanahu wa Taala for rains.

The mustahab method of making dua for seeking rain is as follows:

1. All the Muslims should get together with their children, elderly people and

animals, and walk towards the jungle in a very helpless and humble way,

dressed in very simple clothing.

2. They should renew their feelings of repentance, fulfil the due rights of other

fellow-beings, and should not take anyKaafirfriends with them. At Jungle they

should then offer two Rakaats ofSalaatwith Jamaatwithout any adhaan or

iqaamah.

3. The Imam should recite the Salaatin a loud voice. He should then deliver two

Khutbahsjust as they are delivered onEidday.

4. The Imam should then stand up facing the Qiblah and raise his hands and makedua toAllah Subhanahu wa Taala for rains. All those present should also make

dua.

NOTE:

1. This should be done for three consecutive days and not more than that because

this has not been established in the Shariah.

2. If the rains begin to fall before they can go out to the jungle, or after offering

this Salaatfor one day, even then the three days should be completed.3. It isMustahab to fast on these three days.

4. It is alsoMustahab to give something in charity before going.
