    Rulebook For Event: Code Jam

    1. A team may consist of a maximum of 2 members. Students from differenteducational institutes can form a team.

    2. The event will be conducted in three roundsa. Round One: This round will consist of two purely objective sections.

    Participants will have a fixed amount of time to answer the

    sections. This round will test the participants knowledge about

    data structures and control structures of C.

    b. Round Two: This round will be a coding marathon. Participantsshortlisted based on Round One scores will be given a set of

    questions and asked to code programs providing the required

    output. Participants must attempt to code as many programs as

    possible with correct outputs in the stipulated time.

    c. Round Three: This round consists of a single question. Participantsshortlisted based on Round Two scores will have to write code tocomplete the challenge. In case of multiple teams completing the

    requirements of the challenge, the team which finishes first will be

    declared the winner.

    3. Round One and Two will each be of the duration of one hour. Round Threewill be of three hours duration.

    4. Use of unfair means in any round will lead to immediate disqualification ofthe participant.

    5. Decision of the judges shall be final and binding.6. Organisers maintain the right to disqualify any participant for breaking

    any of the aforementioned rules.

    Rulebook For Event: Windows Masters

    7. This is an individual participation event.8. Event will take place in 2 Rounds:

    a) Round 1: Written Round: Participants will have to answerquestions about the Windows OS. Participants for Round 2 will be

    shortlisted using scores of this round.

    b) Round 2: Practical Round: In this round, participants will be givencertain tasks that will have to be completed on the provided

    system.

    9. After completing each task in Round 2, participant shall take a screenshotshowcasing the completion, using the provided software.

    10.Judging criteria for Round 2 is:a) Completeness of task.

    b) Time taken to complete given task.

    11.No software may be installed on the systems during the course of the event12.Use of Internet/Cellphone is prohibited during the course of the event.13.Results will be declared during the prize distribution ceremony on 31st July.14.Organisers maintain the right to disqualify any participant for breaking any

    of the aforementioned rules.

    Rulebook For Event: Tech Czar

    1. This is a single participant event.2. The event will be conducted in three rounds

    a. Round one: Aptitude Round- In this round, participants will have toanswer a written paper consisting of questions on logic, reasoning

    and language.

    b. Round two: Technical Round- In this round, participants shortlistedbased on Round one scores will have to answer a written paper

    consisting of questions on C, C++, data structures and operating

    systems.

    c. Round three: Interview Round- In this round, participants shortlistedbased on Round two scores will be interviewed by a panel of jadges

    on their technical aptitude.

    3. Use of unfair means in Round one or two will lead to immediatedisqualification of the participant.

    4. Results will be declared during the prize distribution ceremony on 31st July.5. Decision of the judges shall be final and binding.6. Organisers maintain the right to disqualify any participant for breaking any

    of the aforementioned rules.

    Rulebook For Event: Innovation

    1. A team should consist of maximum of 3 members. Students from differenteducational institutes can form a team.

    2. The contestants are required to send only a soft copy of their entry alongwith an abstract (not more than 500 words) to the following mail id:

    [email protected] latest by JULY 27th, 2010.

    3. Please send your entry in the following format:Subject: ENTRY FOR INNOVATION,TECHNIX4

    Body:

    Attachments: soft copy and abstract of the paper.

    4. The paper should be strictly in IEEE FORMAT(Download at http://technix4.in/IEEE.pdf)

    5. The soft copy should be either .doc, .docx or .pdffile format6. Shortlisted candidates will be intimidated through mail/phone.7. Each shortlisted team/entrant must formally present his or her paper at the

    day of the event.

    8. Presentations must be no longer than 10 minutes.

    9. A 5-minute question-and-answer period will follow the presentation of thepaper. Questions may be posed by judges and/or students attending thepresentation.

    10.Presentations may be accompanied by visual aids.11.Judging will be on a basis of 100, as follows:

    Rulebook For Event: Think Tank

    1. A team should consist of 2 members. Students from different educationalinstitutes can form a team.

    2. The event will be conducted in two roundsa. Round One: Written Round- In this round, participants will

    have to answer a written paper consisting of direct questions.

    b. Round Two: Oral Round- In this round, participants shortlistedbased on Round One scores will battle it out on the stage in a

    traditional quiz, with different rounds as decided by the QM.

    3. Use of unfair means in either of the two rounds will lead toimmediate disqualification of the team.

    4. Decision of the QM shall be final and binding.5. Organisers maintain the right to disqualify any participant for

    breaking any of the aforementioned rules.

    7. A team should consist of maximum of 2 members. Students from differenteducational institutes can form a team.

    8. Problem Statement: Design a sketch and explain the working of a machinethat is of no practical use but if hypothetically implemented, would solve a

    real life problem! In short the idea must have a GOOD INTENTION but must

    be a BAD INVENTION.

    9. The team must present their design to the judges, explaining the problemand the proposed solution. Presentation must include atleast 5 slides, and

    may include other props as well.

    10.The main presentation may be in the .PPT, .ODP or .PDF format11.Judging Criteria shall include:

    a) Creativity involved in making the design.b) Humor imparted by the usage of the patent.c) The problem that the device chooses to solve.

    12.Results will be declared during the prize distribution ceremony on 31st July.13.Decision of the judges shall be final and binding.14.Organisers maintain the right to disqualify any participant for breaking any

    of the aforementioned rules.

    1. A team should consist of maximum of 2 members. Students from differenteducational institutes can form a team.

    2. Each team will get one hour to solve the word game.3. At the end of the hour, the team with the highest score will be declared the

    winner.

    4. Any dispute with respect to the game will be resolved by the organizers.5. Decision of the judges shall be final and binding.6. Organisers maintain the right to disqualify any participant for breaking any

    of the aforementioned rules.

    Rulebook For Event: Final Cut

    1. The aim of the event is to create a music video for any chosen song that hasbeen produced till date.

    2. Any movie making software may be used and the use of inbuilt effects ispermitted.

    3. Song chosen may be from any genre and language.4. Minimum length of the video must be 2 minutes and the maximum may be

    4 minutes. Entries deviating from the time limit will be disqualified.

    5. The video extension must be supported by Winamp 5.56 or WindowsMedia Player 11.0

    6. Judging Criteria will include:a. Relevance of video to the songb. Performance of members in the videoc. Direction and editing

    7. Decision of the judges shall be final and binding.8. Organizers maintain the right to disqualify any participant for breaking any

    of the aforementioned rules.

    1. This is a single participant event.2. Theme will be given on 29th July 9:00 AM.3. Photographs must be submitted in soft copy form to event coordinator.4. Deadline to submit photographs is 2:00 PM on 30th July5. Every entry must be an entirely original work of the photographer6. Camera used may be of any type (including mobile phones).7. Unlimited entries per person at Rs.15 per photograph.8. Photograph should be necessarily clicked during the given time period only

    and within the GEC campus alone.

    9. Only minor photo editing shall be allowed.10.Judging Criteria: a) Originality b) Image quality c) Compliance with theme11.Results will be declared during the prize distribution ceremony on 31st July.12.Decision of the judges shall be final and binding.13.Organisers maintain the right to disqualify any participant for breaking any
