Welcome to HCCA’s 21st Annual

Compliance Institute

It is my pleasure to welcome everyone to the 21st Annual Compliance Institute (CI) in National Harbor, Maryland—just outside Washington, DC. If you are like me, you look forward to the CI every year for a chance to learn from a wide array of experts, catch up with old friends and colleagues, explore the latest products and services being offered, and take back to your organization practical solutions to some of the most complex challenges we face.

If this is your first opportunity to attend the CI, you are in for an exciting few days! You will find the program packed with exceptional, thought-provoking speakers; opportunities to network with others; receptions and other opportunities to build relationships; learn about new compliance tools that are available; get some mentoring or mentor others; volunteer in a community project; and so much more. The conference provides 10 different learning tracks to help you focus your learning experience on the topics that will benefit you most.

With more than 2,500 attendees, the CI is the largest annual gathering of healthcare compliance professionals. We hope you will walk away from the program energized, armed with knowledge and ideas that you can put into action as soon as you return, and with new contacts to help you on your journey.

It is almost impossible to imagine how much work goes in to a conference like this. Impossible to imagine because the HCCA staff always make it look so seamless. Please take a minute to thank the staff for all their hard work in coordinating this event. Please also thank the program chairs, speakers, and volunteers who dedicate so much of their time to providing a world-class educational experience. You will be learning from the best and brightest in the industry.

Hopefully you will find a few minutes to explore the Washington, DC area. This is a beautiful venue and you should have no trouble finding great things to do outside the conference.

Health care is a complex industry and this conference exists to provide you with the information, tools, contacts, and support you need to help you be successful in this ever-expanding field. I have every confidence that you will find this conference a valuable and memorable experience.

Thank you all for joining us. Have a great conference!

Margaret Hambleton HCCA Board Vice President
