MJ Shoer, Chairman

President & Virtual Chief Technology Officer Jenaly Technology Group, Inc. Portsmouth, NH Member

MJ Shoer started Jenaly Technology Group in February of 1997. The vision for Jenaly grew from Mr. Shoer’s collective experience with a variety of technology companies, focusing on sales automation, executive information management and electronics distribution, where he held both sales and technical management positions. Mr. Shoer and Jenaly Technology Group are also founding investors and partners in TOGL, LLC a leading provider of Cloud servers, webtops and related services exclusively to the IT Channel. TOGL is also a CompTIA member. Mr. Shoer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with a concentration in Soviet studies, from the University of New Hampshire, in Durham, New Hampshire, graduating in 1986. Mr. Shoer is Cisco and Microsoft Certified and has completed many business and technical professional education programs. Mr. Shoer is very active in both the local community and the global IT community. Locally, Mr. Shoer has served as a member and officer of the Board of Directors of the Seacoast Family YMCA. He currently serves as president of the Board of Directors of Seacoast Crime Stoppers, a non-profit organization that supports area police agencies. In the global IT community, Mr. Shoer serves on the Advisory Councils of both The ASCII Group and ConnectWise. Mr. Shoer is also very active in the Computing Technology Industry Association, CompTIA. He serves as a member of the Board of Directors and Audit and Investment Committee. From 2005-2008, Mr. Shoer served a prior term on the Board and held the positions of Board Secretary, Audit Committee member and member of the Ad-hoc Selection Committee that selected a new CEO for CompTIA in 2008. Mr. Shoer also served on the Board of Directors of the CompTIA Educational Foundation, now known as the Creating IT Futures Foundation. Additionally, Mr. Shoer participated in the formation and testing of the CompTIA Security Trustmark and MSP Partners Trustmark. Mr. Shoer currently serves as a CompTIA Ambassador, member of the Ambassador Advisory Council, chair of the Certification Advisory Council and is active in several member Communities. Mr. Shoer has been named to the MSPmentor 250 and SMB 150 rankings of influential executives in the IT industry. Mr. Shoer is an accomplished writer having published his first book, Hassle-Free Computer Support, in August of 2006. His second book, The Tech Multiplier, will be published in November 2012. He also writes columns for local newspapers and business publications. Mr. Shoer maintains a blog about IT for small and mid-size businesses and is frequently interviewed for local and national publications. Mr. Shoer was featured on the covers of ChannelPro and Business Solutions Magazine for feature stories about the Cloud. Mr. Shoer has also testified before the United States Congress and the Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation on the topic of information security.

Frank Vitagliano, Vice Chair

Frank is responsible for small and medium VAR channel accounts and Dell’s two tier Distribution partners, along

with driving the growth and development strategy for small and mid-market accounts in the U.S. and Canada.

Frank joins us after spending six years at Juniper Networks, where he served as Senior Vice President of

Americas Partner Sales. Frank worked at IBM for 33 years prior to his tenure at Juniper. In 1994 he was named

Director of Channel Marketing for the IBM Personal Computer Company and held that position until 1996 when

he was named Vice President of WW Fulfillment Operations. In 2000 Frank was promoted to Vice President of

Distribution Channels Management and in 2003 was named as the Vice President of WW Distribution Channels

for the IBM Global Business Partner Organization

Mont Phelps, Vice Chair

Phelps is a senior executive and successful serial entrepreneur. Since 2000, NWN has established a

national footprint focusing in Commercial and Public Sector markets with advanced IT infrastructure,

consulting, application development and managed services. CRN has recognized NWN as one of the

fastest growing companies in the IT services industry and Mont as one of the most innovative

executives. NWN continues to gain broad industry recognition for excellence both in technical

competence and customer satisfaction. In his early career, Mont spent 18 years as a DuPont fast-

tracker, progressing quickly through assignments in finance, logistics, marketing and sales. He held

senior management positions with the AGFA Division of Bayer Corp, ultimately leading the North

American sales and marketing organization. Mont also was the Vice President and General Manager

of the Pitman Company, the largest US distributor of equipment and consumables to the printing and

publishing industries. He holds a BA in Economics from Randolph Macon College and an MBA from

Widener University.

Mont lives in Houston, TX and Narragansett, RI with his wife and business partner, Jane Linder.

Amy Kardel, Audit & Investment Committee Chair

Amy loves technology, but what she really enjoys is seeing how business process can improve the results of small businesses through IT. As the founder of two start-ups, she knows firsthand what it takes to help a business use IT as a strategic weapon. With 20 years of experience in the IT industry, she continuously explores new ways to determine how her firm can apply technical expertise to solve business problems. She nurtures relationships with partners in the IT channel to continuously improve the services she can deliver for her clients. As the premier IT consulting and services firm in her local region, Clever Ducks services a range of business industries including medical, accounting and finance, legal, local government, wineries and non-profits. Unlike many other smaller companies, Clever Ducks has particular focus on the needs of regional business and on larger enterprises located in our area and beyond. After traveling the world working for international technology companies and building her expertise in technology consulting, Amy started Computer Network Services (now Clever Ducks) with her husband Peter in her hometown San Luis Obispo in 1991. Their vision- to help businesses in San Luis Obispo County be on the forefront of technology and stay competitive in the global market through computer and telecommunication network systems. In order to keep her clients competitive, Amy is diligent in staying current with industry trends and in leading the way in innovative solutions and delivers “trade secrets” directly to her clients. She has led Clever Ducks in becoming both a Microsoft Certified Gold Partner and a Microsoft Small Business Specialist – certifications that directly benefit the local small businesses that Clever Ducks serves. Todd Thibodeaux, Officer

Since joining the organization in 2008, Mr. Thibodeaux has led the expansion of CompTIA’s efforts to serve the business needs of all facets of the industry, from the largest product manufacturers to the smallest technology solution providers. Under his direction, CompTIA has created a comprehensive set of initiatives to educate the IT channel on best business practices and growth strategies; certify the IT workforce in the latest technology skills; advocate on behalf of the IT industry with government leaders and agencies; and give back through philanthropy to help disadvantaged groups gain the skills needed for employment in the IT industry.

Dan Liutikas, Secretary

Chief Legal Officer CompTIA

Dan Liutikas is the chief legal officer of CompTIA. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Directors of CompTIA and the Creating IT Futures Foundation as the secretary. He oversees CompTIA's Legal and Regulatory Affairs Department, which is responsible for protecting the association's interests; ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements; protecting and enforcing CompTIA's intellectual property rights; working with the business teams to achieve win-win outcomes with members, customers and partners; and overseeing the day-to-day governance requirements of the association, including the Board of Directors elections. Liutikas also leads various initiatives in developing legal and regulatory resources for the membership, collaborating on initiatives with the public advocacy group and bringing together the IT legal community to jointly focus on industry initiatives. He previously led the industry relations group in delivering a wide range of initiatives and programs for association members and the broader IT industry. He is a passionate and intimately involved advocate for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) on public policy matters as well as non-legislative strategies for the IT industry. He is a frequent speaker and author on legal and business issues faced by SMB IT companies. In addition to his responsibilities at CompTIA, he devotes his time to philanthropic causes, primarily within the IT industry, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Chicago Technology Academy, a Chicago charter school. Liutikas has Juris Doctor, MBA and BA degrees and is also a certified public accountant.

Dave Sommer, Treasurer

Chief Financial Officer CompTIA

David Sommer is the chief financial officer and treasurer for the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA). He is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and reporting on CompTIA’s financial results and investment portfolio. He also manages CompTIA’s Operations Department and Project Management Office. Currently, he is focusing on improving CompTIA business processes and financial systems. Previously, Mr. Sommer was chief operating officer for CompTIA, responsible for day-to-day operations including overseeing E-Business and Software Solutions, Education and Training, Events and Conferences, Finance, HR, Marketing and Communications, Operations and IT, Services Section, and Skills Development and Certification. He also worked directly with leading software industry executives delivering timely business information and best practices through SoftwareCEO, a comprehensive information portal for software executives. Prior to joining CompTIA in 2003, Mr. Sommer was a senior principal at American Management Systems, Inc. (AMS) where he managed multiple major electronic commerce software implementation projects in the state and local government markets; and provided electronic commerce training to AMS consultants. Mr. Sommer holds an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BS in Computer Science from Purdue University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Association Executive (CAE).

Executive Summary A member of the Chartered Management Institute and a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting, Tracy started

MaximITy in April 2000 with the objective of providing high value, affordable IT expertise to businesses. Tracy has

almost 30 years experience in the IT industry spanning 8 years in the Automotive industry and 21 years in various

management positions. Having begun as a programmer, her inter-personnel skills soon enabled a move into IT

consultancy and training and into IT management. She has successfully deployed large scale IT infrastructures –

including hardware, software and services - into many differing industries. These include the Financial Services

Executive Summary Fernando is vice president of channel sales and operations for the Americas at McAfee. He is responsible for McAfee's partner relationships as well as building strategies related to sales, marketing, operations, and profitability while promoting product and services growth for more than 10,000 partners in the region. His focus and proven understanding of the channel, specifically around partner engagement, value based-productivity, speed of execution, and agility have marked his career with a consistent track record of achievements around the entire partner experience and adoption of McAfee's products. He has been with McAfee since 2002, holding key sales management positions and previously served as channel director for the Latin America region. Fernando's expertise with the technology channel dates back to more than 20 years. Prior to McAfee he spent over a decade in various sales and management positions at Hewlett-Packard and Compaq where he continuously fostered partner development and growth. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from USM in Caracas, Venezuela, and attended the executive international business administration program at Florida International University. Fernando has been involved with several of CompTIA’s communities, Ambassadors, AWIT, IT Security (Chair 2013-14) and served on the CompTIA board of directors (2011-12).

Dan Shapero

Director of Global Marketing Cloud Ingram Micro Member

Executive Summary

As director, global cloud marketing, Dan Shapero is responsible for establishing and overseeing Ingram Micro’s global cloud marketing strategy and plans, as well as working with the company’s regional and local cloud business to execute the strategy and create growth and recognition in the marketplace. With a track record of driving revenue growth and a wealth of expertise in devising go-to-market strategies for the technology industry, Shapero brings proven enthusiasm, energy and ability to execute to his position. Before joining Ingram Micro, Shapero founded ClickCloud, which supplies the IT channel with turnkey digital marketing options on a fixed-fee monthly subscription. He also held executive positions at Kaseya, where he worked in global marketing and served as executive vice president and general manager for the company’s On Demand Division. In the latter position, he was responsible for gaining critical mass in the managed services software market, and helped Kaseya to extend its on-premise IT automation software into the cloud computing and SaaS markets. Prior to Kaseya, he acquired 20 additional years of industry experience in a variety of leadership roles. Shapero holds a B.A. from the University of California, San Diego, and an M.A. from San Diego State University. A popular channel educator, author and advocate, he is also a former member of CompTIA’s board of directors, and continues to participate in several CompTIA committees. He was named a CRN Channel Chief in 2010. Dan has also been involved in several of CompTIA’s communities, IT Security (Chairman 2013-2014), AWIT, Ambassador, Managed Services and also served on the CompTIA board of directors (2008-2010).

Joseph Squeri

Executive Summary As chief information officer at Citadel, Joseph Squeri leads technology essential to the firm’s success. His

Aaron Woods

Director of North American Resellers (NARS) Service Programs in the Services Partners and Alliances Support Group Xerox Member

Executive Summary Aaron’s primary responsibilities include acting as the relationship manager between the XS and the NARS organization, working with senior staff, to assist in developing partner programs targeted at increasing post sale revenue and maintaining customer satisfaction. Before joining Xerox in March 1996, Aaron spent more than 25 years in the services industry where he served in a wide range of management roles. In 1981 he was recruited by NEC Electronics as National Service Manager to create a network of dealer service providers to support the introduction of their personal computer into the U.S. Aaron has held subsequent service operations positions of increasing responsibility including Repair Operations Manager at Bell & Howell as and Director of National Service Programs and Training at Intelligent Electronics. Outside of Xerox, Aaron is actively involved in industry initiatives targeted at improving the services offerings and experience of Xerox Authorized Service Providers. He was instrumental in helping to develop and introduce the CompTIA A+ Certification Program for technicians in 1993. He has served as chair and vice chair of the A+ Certification Advisory Committee and is currently the chair for the PDI+ Committee. In July 2007 Aaron completed his Green Belt certification for Lean Six Sigma (LSS) quality improvement processes. His current focus is targeted at implementing Printer and Document Imaging (PDI+) technicians that was introduced in January 2008. Aaron has a BS in Business Management and an MBA from Marylhurst University in Lake Oswego Oregon. His appreciation for higher learning and cutting edge technology has driven him to teach in the virtual classroom setting at Marylhurst University. As an Adjunct Instructor in the Business and Leadership Department for online learning, he is helping other experienced adult students complete their educational goals teaching business strategy and business fundamentals. He and his wife, Shirley, have five adult children and five grandchildren. He loves to cook and fish, and is completing work on a cookbook on Sardines.
