Put your career into overdrive with an IT certification or certificate.Trident Technical College Division of Continuing Education and Economic Development offers computer and information technology programs for those seeking to become technicians, web designers, graphic designers, engineering graphic designers and programmers. Information Technology certifications can help you earn more and allow you to advance in your career. Certificate track options are also available for some areas of study which do not offer industrywide certification. Courses are available as in-classroom options with some also being offered in an online learning format. Certification prep and certificate track courses can be completed in one to four months with costs ranging from $799 to $3,499 not including textbooks, software and testing fees.
Prices are subject to change and students should refer to www.tridenttech.edu/ce for the most up-to-date information regarding course requirements, scheduling and pricing. A+ Certified Technician
The CompTIA A+ certification is the starting point for a career in IT. The exams cover maintenance of PCs, mobile devices, laptops, operating systems and printers. *CompTIA on the Internet at http://certification.comptia.org (visited March 23, 2015)

TTC Program Requirements: Students should complete both the A+ Essentials and A+ Practical Application courses to help prepare for taking the two certification exams. Prerequisite: Working knowledge of computers and understanding of Windows.

Certification: A+ Certification, a testing program sponsored by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), certifies the competency of computer service technicians. Major computer hardware and software vendors, distributors, resellers and publications back the program. The two exams required for A+ Certification include the CompTIA A+ 220-801 Certification Exam and the CompTIA A+ 220-802 Certification Exam. Call 1.800.77.MICRO to register for the exams.

Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
According to www.cissp.com, CertMag surveyed 35,167 IT professionals in 170 countries on compensation and found that CISSPs led the list of information security certifications ranked by salary. A Certification Magazine salary survey also ranked the CISSP credential highly and ranked CISSP concentration certifications as the top best paid credentials in IT. In 2008, another study came to the
conclusion that IT professionals with a CISSP certification tend to have salaries which are $30,000 higher than IT professionals without the certification. The CISSP certification covers the following areas: access control; telecommunications and network security; information security governance and risk management; software development security; cryptography; security architecture and design; operations security; business continuity and disaster recovery planning; legal, regulations, investigations and compliance; and physical (environmental) security.
TTC Program Requirements: Students should complete the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) course to help prepare for taking the certification exam. Prerequisites: A+ Essentials, A+ Practical Application, Network+ Certification or Security+ and CCNA.

Certification: The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium or (ISC)² is a not-for-profit organization that creates the CISSP® exam and manages the certification. According to their website at www.cissp.com, to become certified as a CISSP, a candidate must: a) pass the CISSP exam with a scaled score of 700 points or greater; b) meet the CISSP experience eligibility requirements; c) submit a properly completed and executed Endorsement Form; and d) if the candidate is selected for audit, they must successfully pass that audit of their assertions regarding professional experience.

Cisco Certified Network Associate Accelerated (CCNAX)The associate level of Cisco Certifications can begin directly with CCNA for network installation, operations and troubleshooting or CCDA for network design. The TTC course helps prepare you for the new accelerated version of the CCNA. The CCNAX (exam 200-120 CCNA) will prepare you for the CCNA Routing and Switching certification exam. Learn how to install, operate, configure and verify a basic IPv4 and IPv6 network. You will focus on configuring a LAN switch, configuring an IP router, identifying basic security threats, understanding redundant topologies, troubleshooting common network issues, connecting to a wide-area network (WAN), configuring EIGRP and OSPF in both IPv4 and IPv6, understanding WAN technologies and getting familiar with device management and Cisco licensing.
TTC Program Requirements: This is an intensive, extended-hours boot camp lasting 60 hours. Prerequisites: A+ Certification and Net-work+ Certification.

Cloud Essentials Certified TechnicianAccording to the CompTIA website (http://certification.comptia.org), the CompTIA Cloud Essentials specialty certification demonstrates that an individual knows what cloud computing means from a business and technical perspective, as well as what is involved in moving to and governing the cloud. The cloud essentials certification covers characteristics of cloud services from a business perspective; business value of cloud computing; technical perspective/cloud types; steps to successful adoption; impact and changes on IT service management; as well as risks and consequences.
TTC Program Requirements: Students should complete the Cloud Essentials Certification course to help prepare for taking the certification exam. Prerequisites: A+ Essentials, A+ Practical Application and Network+ Certification.

Computer ProgrammerThe role of a computer programmer is to create, modify and test the code, forms and script that allow computer applications to run. A programmer works from specifications drawn up by software developers or other individuals and may assist software developers by analyzing user needs and designing software solutions. Design EngineerDesign engineers combine creative skills with mathematics and information technology to work in a variety of fields including manufacturing, architecture, automotive technology and IT. They develop technical plans and models using various types of computer aided design software.
TTC Program Requirements: Obtain an Engineering Design Certificate in computer-aided design by completing the following courses: AutoCAD Level 1; AutoCAD Production Environment; SolidWorks; Inventor; and Architectural Revit Introduction.
Program Length: 3-4 months

Graphic ArtistGraphic designers create visual concepts, by hand or using computer software, to communicate ideas which inspire, inform or captivate consumers. They develop the overall layout and design for advertisements, brochures, magazines and corporate reports. IT Health Care Certified Technician
According to the CompTIA website (http://certification.comptia.org), the CompTIA Healthcare IT Technician certification covers the knowledge and skills required to implement, deploy and support healthcare IT systems in U.S. clinical settings. The certification exam covers U.S. regulatory requirements; organizational behavior; IT operations; medical business
operations; and security. Potential candidates should possess a basic understanding of practice workflow while adhering to code of conduct policies and security best practices. The exam is intended for IT professionals who are CompTIA A+ certified or have 500 hours of hands-on IT technical experience in the lab or field, plus the knowledge/skills necessary to deploy and support healthcare IT systems in clinical settings.
TTC Program Requirements: Students should complete the IT Health Care Technician course to help prepare for taking the certification exam. Prerequisite: A+ Essentials, A+ PracticalApplication and Network+ Certification.
