DONATE   TO   US   YOUR   OLD   COMPUTER Why   do   we   need   your   old   computers  

A staggering 6million adults in the UK never used the Internet,                       highlighĕng the huge equity gap between those who access                 technology and those who don’t, impacĕng on their economic                 well‐being. The majority are over 45 years old and over. 18% of                       Lambeth   residents   fall   into   this   age   bracket.  

For children in low‐income homes, having inadequate access to technology hinders them from                         developing the technology skills that are crucial to success in today’s economy. Similarly, adults who                             do not have access to a computer and the internet suffer disadvantage, hindering their career                             prospects and socio economic prosperity .  A  survey (2 Qubits, June 2016) found that the internet has a                                 huge impact on socio economic prosperity. 50% of respondents use the internet for job search and                               30%   to   earn   addiĕonal   income.  

To support our Lambeth community, our goal is to make technology accessible to everyone, but                             especially to disadvantaged people, small business, charities and community groups, by supplying                       computers at very low cost. We pledge to donate 20% per cent of computers to low income families                                   and disadvantaged individuals. We want to enable everyone in Lambeth to have access to broadband                             in   line   with   the   government   policy   of   “every   home   must   have   broadband”. 

Since 2015, with the help of computer donors, we put back into the community 900 computers                               benefiĕng individuals and organizaĕons. A hundred people were trained in digital skills making a big                             difference in finding job opportuniĕes, improving staff efficiency and producĕvity. IRMO is an                         example.

We are passionate about our environment and are pleased that we reduced 20 tonnes of e‐waste                               material in the last year alone. We want to conĕnue protect our environment and support those who                                 need   it   the   most.   Your   support   will   help   us   to   do   that.

The more you can help communiĕes access technology and become digitally literate the                           more potenĕally your business increase revenue. Booz Company, (2014) suggest that full digital take                           up   could   add   63   billion   to   the   Briĕsh   economy.
