In the world around us, there are many different kinds of computers. But technology has changed and improved through the years and it has made different kinds of computers that can be portable. In fact, you can use the internet just about anywhere.

You can find internet on your phone, at bus stations etc. Even at pubs and cafes, there is an internet connection so you can take your laptop or any kind of computer system and use it there. But the internet has improved and has made computer systems that already has an internet connection, so you can use it anywhere.

This presentation will look at different computer systems and see what you can do with them.

A Laptop is a portable computer that can do exactly what a normal desktop computer can do except you can take it anywhere you want. You do not need any cables or plug sockets to make a laptop work. Although you do need a Power Plug so that you can charge the battery but a good laptop battery can last up to 10 hours.

A laptop does not need a mouse to move the cursor around. At the bottom of the laptop there is a Touch Pad where you can move the cursor and click the left hand button or the right hand button just like a mouse can. Also a mouse can get in the way and can be lost or broken when a Touch Pad is stuck into the laptop so it can never be lost.

A Tablet Computer is a portable computer that is a little bit like a Mobile Phone but it has a flat touch screen and you cannot make phone calls but there is so much more that you can do on it. You can listen to music, surf the web, watch videos, send emails, play games etc.

It often uses a virtual keyboard on the screen and a digital pen so you it won’t get any finger prints on it.

The most famous kind of Tablet that is used is an IPad that is made by Apple and can cost up to £500.

A Desktop Computer is a very large computer that needs a computer screen, a keyboard, a mouse, a speaker and a base unit all plugged in together.

It has to stay in one place. It is not like a Laptop where you can take anywhere. It is usually placed in an office or in a study. In a workplace, there are desktop computers but some people do use Laptops as well.

You can do more things on a Desktop Computer because it has a lot more programs already downloaded onto it. Also it is easier to play Video Games on a computer because a Desktop Computer can hold more memory and more Disk Space.

A Smartphone is a very high technical Mobile Phone that can let you play games, go on the Internet, listen to music, buy games, send text messages, call and talk to friends and much more.

The changes that technology has made in the world of Mobile Phones has improved and changed so much because the first Mobile Phone only let you make phone calls with huge numbers on the number pad when now they are a touch screen which is a lot bigger improvement.

A Games Console is a type of machine that is totally focused on gaming. There are many different types of games console because they all do so many different things.

-Xbox 360: They do mostly the same games as the PlayStation 3 but it is more of an online system so you are more likely to play online with other people if you buy an Xbox 360 because you have to buy an online account. The controller is wireless and the console is shiny and glossy. They have changed the Xbox a lot since the first Xbox because that didn’t have the online and the controls changed for the Xbox 360.-PlayStation: In my opinion, PlayStation is the best for gaming but it still does have an online so it is also good for playing with other people. The screen is in High Definition so you can watch Blue-Ray films on it. The controller is wireless and exactly the same as the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation 1. The only big thing they have changed for the PlayStation 3 than the PlayStation 2 is that you can play online and the graphics have increased to High Definition.-Wii: The Wii is a game for all the family. It is mostly a Games Console for children and for adults but not really for teenagers because the game names are like: Just Dance, Wii Play, Mario Kart etc. The big highlight for the Wii is that you burn calories while playing and that you can create your own character but you can also do that for an Xbox 360. You can also go on the internet and play online but it is not as good as PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

There are many more types of Games Consoles like Nintendo DS, PSP, Nintendo 64 and Windows OS.
