My computer type is HOME USER. To build my computer, I need the following parts:

Motherboard

My model: Biostar A780L3L AMD 760G Motherboard – ATX, Socket AM3, AMD 760G Chipset, DDR3 1600MHz (O.C.), RAID, SATA 3.0 Gb/s, 6-Channel HD Audio, Radeon 3000, Fast EthernetPrice: $49.991. All the computer components are either part of the motherboard or they are plugged

into it.  2. It is necessary to have a motherboard because it is the mainboard of a computer.

Without it all other internal components will not work.3. To buy this component I have looked for a motherboard that supports the socket of

my CPU. I have chosen this motherboard because it supports AM3 sockets and my CPU has AM3 socket.

Case/Power Supply

My model: Apex Vortex3620 Gaming Mid-Tower Case – 10x Drive Bays, USB, eSATAPrice: $39.991. It holds all the components of a computer such as CPU, motherboard, sound card, fan

etc.2. This component is important because without it, all the internal components will not work

properly as they will scattered. 3. To buy this case, I have looked for USB ports because I have to transfer my photos from

my camera to my pc. I have also searched that it supports ATX motherboard or not because my motherboard is ATX. Aside from that I have to buy a case with suitable size so that all my internal components fit into it perfectly.

Video Card My model: Diablotek VARX-8P ATI Rage XL Video – 8MB SBRAM, PCI, VGA, Video CardPrice: $12.991.Video cards are placed in the motherboard and they transfer video signals through a cable to our monitor. 2. This component is important for my computer because my children want to play games,

so they need to view graphics. 3. While buying this, I don’t need to look for so powerful one because my children do not

need to play the latest games with better graphics.

Sound Card

My model: Sabrent SBT-SP6C 6-Channel 5.1 Surround Sound 3D PCI Sound Card- Vista ReadyPrice: $9.991. Sound cards translate audio signals into sounds which can be heard by us via speakers. They are placed on motherboard. 2. It is important to have a sound card on my computer because my kids will have to listen to

sound while playing games.3. To buy a sound card, I need to look for a good quality sound card that can support game port.

Monitor My model: I-Inc IP193ABB 19” Widescreen LED HD Monitor- 1366 x 768, 16:9, 1000:1 Native, 5ms, VGA, Energy StarPrice: $69.99 1. Monitor is a output device and is connected to the video card. When user sends informations into computer, CPU processes it and displays on the monitor. 2. It is important to have it because my kids need to visualize games while playing it. Besides I

need to see my photos when I am editing them. 3. While buying my monitor I have looked for LCD or LED monitor because they take less space

compared to CRT monitors. I have also considered wider screen because it makes my photos and documents easy to see.

Speakers

My model:  Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia Speakers with On-Speaker Power and Volume Controls and 3.5mm JackPrice: $9.991. They receive sound from sound card through cables and output them so that we can hear the

sound. 2.Speakers are important because they provide sound for my kids when they are playing games. 3.I have considered their size and quality of sound it outputs. I don’t need high quality because my kids are not going to play the newest games.

Keyboards and Mouse combo

My model: Logitech 920-002565 MK120 Keyboard and Mouse Combo – USB, Optical Mouse, 1000 DPI, Spill Resistant Design, Black

Price: $19.991. They are input devices. When input any information through them, they send it to the

processor.2. Keyboard and mouse are important because without them my computer will not receive my

commands . 3. While buying them, I have looked for a combination of keyboard and mouse because it is

cheaper to buy like this than individually.

Fan

My model: Cooler Master Hyper 101iDirect Contact CPU Cooler – 80 x 80 x 25mm, 2200RPM, 22dBA, LGA775, 30CFMPrice: $12.991. Cooling fans are placed in the case. They bring cool air inside and drive the heat out

that builds up inside the case 2.I need this component because it keeps the temperature of my computer in control.3. While buying fan the most important things to consider are the size that suits the

most in my case and the amount of noise it makes.

Memory Card ReaderMy model: Sony MRW620 Internal Multi Card Reader/Writer- 17 in 1 Price: $12.991. It takes the data from memory cards and transfers it into graphics which his displayed on the monitor. 2. I need this “extra” component because I need to transfer my photos from my

memory card to my computer.

3. I need to look if it accepts all kind of memory cards including SD, MiniSD, Xd,

MultimediaCard etc.

Optical Drives

My model: Asus DRW-24B1 ST 24X Internal DVD Burner-DVD±R 24X, DVD+RW 8X, DVD-RW 6X, DVD±R (DL) 12X, DVD-RAM 12X, CD-R 48X, CD-RW 32X, SATA, 2MD, Black, OEMPrice: $19.991. Optical drive allows us to burn DVDs, CDs on our PC. We can watch movies on DVD,

VCD by using it. They are connected to the motherboard via cable. 2. We need this component to install games into my computer. 3. I have looked for optical drives that can insert CDs with gaming software and other

softwares.

Hard DriveWestern Digital WD800AAJB Caviar Blue Hard Drive-3.5”, 7200 RPM, 80GB, PATA, 8MB, OEMPrice: $79.991. It stores all the data that are inserted into computer via input devices . 2. I need hard drive to save all my word documents and photos. 3. I have looked for a hard drive with enough space to save all my important documents

and photos along with a reasonable price.

My model: AMD SDX145HBGQBOX Sempron 145 Processor – 2.80GHz, Socket AM3, 1MB Cache, 2000MHz (4000 MT/s) HT Bus, Retail, CPU with FanPrice: $39.991.CPU (Central Processing Unit) is considered to be the brain of a computer. It is also called microprocessor. It is placed on motherboard's CPU socket and make an electoral

interface with the motherboard. 2. It is important to have component on my computer because it processes all my informations that are

inserted via input devices and then sends it to me via an output component.

3. I don’t need so fast CPU because I am not using my computer for the newest games and other new technologies. So I only need to look for an Intel Celeron, AMD Sempron or an AMD Athlon 64 processor.

RAMMy model: Crucial CT2KIT25664BA1339 4GB PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz Desktop Memory Upgrade – Non-ECC, Unbuffered, CL9, 2x2048MBPrice: $25.991.RAM (Random Access Memory) is stores informations temporarily. This type of memory allows random access without without touching the former bytes. 2. It is important because it holds the data while we are using it. The more space it has the faster our computer works.

3. The most important thing while buying RAM is the amount of storage space it has .

1. Printer is an output device. It receives data from the motherboard and turns it into a hard copy.

  2. This is an important “extra” piece in my computer system because I want to print

photos from my digital camera.

3. When buying this component I need to look for a printer that prints photos in very good quality and in colour.
