ABSTRACT of PATENT

• A building structure is formed from modular precast concrete building elements:

• wall panels,

• floor slab panels and

• socket beams.

• patented elements forms an interconnection or interlocking by their plugs, pockets, grooves and ribs,

• modular building elements form a configuration unit,

• a configuration unit being repeatedly:

• abutted to each other in a side by side fashion and

• vertically stacked one atop other forming a multi-story structure.

• module is 600 mm,

• wall height is app. 3000 mm and thickness is from 120 mm to 200 mm,

• practically wall panels and socket beam can be make and assembled n x m long (up to 14 modules or 8.4 m1).

Industry Liaison Manager Nurtures Inventions

Industry Liaison Manager in the Research and Development Office, Gerald Ryan, is nurturing several significant inventions including an Engineering student's unique modular building system.

Extracts:

By Suzanne Mclnerney

Ryan, Harambasic's principal co-ordinator Professor Bijan Samali, and his Supervisor, Associate Professor Keith Crews, believe his system has significant commercial potential.

Professor Crews said: "The beauty of the system is that it does not in any way limit design options”.
