Monthly Grief Share Class

Several of our congregation have been personally affected by the loss of someone (mate, parent, sibling, child, unborn child, etc.). Since the Bible says to “weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15) we want to support those in grief and mourning. You are invited to a monthly grief sharing class be-ginning Tuesday, July 12th at 10 am. Further dates and times are TBA, depending on feedback. For more information, contact our minister, Brother Dan Wheeler at 407.423.4301.

And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is My disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward." Matthew 10:42

The Republic of Panama sits in Central America and as a trans-continental nation it connects North and South America via the world famous Panama Canal. Spanish is the official language and English is very popular; there are also 7 indigenous lan-guages. Lisa and David Carter decided to take the gospel to a country of over 3 million people and their hard work has not been in vain as many souls have been added to the Lord’s body. In January 2011 students from UT Chattanooga and Mississippi University traveled to Panama encouraging Christians and non-Christians by leading Bible studies and singing spiritual songs. In February 2011, there was great excitement as eye bandages were removed on over 200 patients who regained their sight after a skilled, compassionate Christian surgeon from Denver re-moved cataracts or pterygia. Also over $12, 000 was donated from the US to assist victims of the December 2010 flood. In March, hundreds of people were given free medical care, free medicines and lots of love. The groups were divided into two teams: one team set up in two different schools near the town of Soná. Another team worked among the Embera people along the Chucunaque River, traveling by canoe to reach the distant vil-lages and as a result for the first time in the Embera Indian’s history, the New Testament is being translated into their lan-guage!
