Timing: Carbon concrete is a very new development (only 4-5 years old). Its current stage is mostly in research projects.

Possible Synergies: A connected team in TU Dresden is working on a solution to automate carbon concrete production, as currently there is no automation solution for carbon concrete.

Indoors: The entire indoors heating solutions market can be divided into new buildings and renovations projects. In 2013, 20 billion € was the yearly market size in Germany for renovation projects (heating budgets only). The similar market size for new buildings was 6 billion €.

But this huge market size is only a fraction of the overall potential. After Germany, our business plan is to enter the rest of DACH countries plus other Alpine countries, then Scandinavia and later Canada and northern US.

Ultimately, we should be able to address the outdoors market in all these regions. We estimate the market size of the outdoor business to be much larger than the indoors market, as it also provides the opportunity for a subscription revenue model (especially in Canada and northern US).

Our product can also become a work of art.When the heated wall is not used, it can be black. When turned on, some panels can change their colour, as they heat up. Once completely warm, the panels can have various colours.This happens due to thermo sensitive paint that can be applied on the panels.

The Product - future possible developmentsBesides the huge market potential of the current feature of our product (heating), even more high tech components can be incorporated into our very innovative concrete panels.Research is currently under way and in a few years data and sensors will become standard features of carbon grids.

With this new features incorporated, our concrete panels are not only keeping the snow away from the roads, but they can also become a solution to guide driverless cars. The same panels can also power up electric cars while on the move.

Similar features can be incorporated into the panels to build a truly smart home much easier, much faster and much cheaper.

Technology DescriptionBased on the scientific research, the innovative heating technology is delivered through the carbon grid placed inside the concrete panel, as reinforcement. Our product is build out of concrete, textile grids and electrical connectors.

The heated concrete panel is reinforced with a textile grid (fig.2). Carbon fibers are oriented in one direction, while the glass fibers are perpendicular to the others. Carbon is a conductive material that allows electricity to travel. Thus, using only (green) electrical power, the carbon fibers become hot, which heats up the entire panel from inside (fig.3). The carbon fiber network is connected to a regular power source using a cable and a transformer/regulator.

Concrete has a very good storage capacity. Once it gets warm enough, it releases the heat over a long period of time. In order to maintain optimal temperature, it only needs electrical pushes from time to time. Various concrete compositions can be used, in order to meet various requirements (e.g. heavy duty roads, or just architectural heating walls).
