While consulting on the Washington, DC, Pervious “Green Alley” pilot program, we had the opportunity to incorporate K-Form into the pavement design in place of a cork expansion joint material that was typically used. On one particular alley that had three diff erent widths, we were not slowed down at all during the concrete placement trying to get the joint right. K-Form was easily cut to size and leveled using a string level to bring it to the fi nished elevation. Unlike wood forms that present an issue with pervious concrete falling when you remove the forms, K-Form allowed us to leave the form in place, off ering a much better-looking and structurally stronger pavement. We were so impressed with K-Form that we incorporated it into our pervious specifi cations immediately after the Washington, DC job.

This is an authoritative document proving the fi tness for the purpose of a construction product and its compliance or contribution to compliance with the various building regulations applying in the United Kingdom. It is commonly referred to as a ‘BBA Agreement Certifi cate’.
K-FORM is ideal for concrete slabs of various thicknesses. The rail is simply laid on a lean mix or mortar bed to the required fi nished height:
1. Set up your string line.
2. Cut the fi rst Void Cap in half, attach to the fi rst rail and fi t Joint Clips.
3. Place spots of bedding mortar on the sub-base at intervals of 32” to correspond with holes in the base.
4. Place the rail on the bed and gently tap down with a rubber mallet until the top of the Void Cap is at the desired level.
5. Place bedding for the next rail as in Step 3.
6. Join the second rail to the fi rst with the Joint Clips.
7. Fit the full length of the Void Cap across rails.
8. Tap down the rail as in Step 4.
9. Each 8 foot K-FORM rail has pre drilled 7/8” holes for dowels.
10. Once the bedding mortar has cured, you can start pouring concrete.
11. K-FORM rails stay in place, therefore adjoining bays can be poured one after the other.
12. Once the concrete has cured, the Void Cap can either be left in place or removed. If removing, the gap can subsequently be fi lled with a joint sealant.
