Pundit® Lab Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity

ProVista Software

ASTM C 597-02

The Pundit Lab is an ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) test instrument which is used to

set, making it particularly suitable for on-site measurements. Naturally it contains all of the features of the Pundit Lab. The new functions include, an integrated gain stage making an external amplifier unnecessary when using long cables or exponential transducers, a real time stamp for recording the time of measurement, a data review list that allows previous measurements to be viewed on site, and a correlation to compressive strength either directly from pulse velocity or in combination with a rebound value (SONREB method).

ASTM C 597-02

The Pundit Lab is an ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV) test instrument which is used to examine the quality of concrete. It features online data acquisition, waveform analysis and full remote control of all transmission parameters. Along with the traditional transit time and pulse velocity measurement, the ultrasonic test equipment Pundit Lab offers path length measurement, perpendicular crack depth measurement and surface velocity measurement. Optimized pulse shaping gives greater transmission range at lower voltage levels. This, coupled with automated combination of the transmitter voltage and the receiver gain, ensures an optimum received signal level, guaranteeing accurate and stable measurements. An integrated waveform display allows manual triggering of the received waveform.

Non-Destructive TestingProVista is an application program of the Profometer cover meter that allows the visualizing and editing of records. The function of this utility program is the transfer of the data measured with the cover meter to the PC.

The Windows® application ProVista and the utility program Vista Transfer make it possible to download and edit data measurements stored in the Profometer 4, 5 and

Note: The same software can also be used with the Digi-Schmidt.

Application functions: The data collected from the Profometer or Digi-Schmidt instrument can be downloaded to a PC via the Vista Transfer program. This will allow the operator to then clear the memory of the display unit for further testing.

The ProVista program allows the operator to view the results received from the display unit in a graphical or numerical format, thereby allowing them to be edited for reporting or analysis purposes or stored for later use.

Dyna Pull-Off Tester

Resipod Resistivity Meter

Torrent Permeability Analysis Tester

ASTM C1583

A pull off tester is indispensable for the diagnosis of building structure damages as well as for checking complete renovation work. The Dyna pull off tester is used to determine the surface strength of concrete and other materials testing it directly on the component allowing the use of any measuring point. Additionally, the Dyna pull off tester can be used for the measuring of the adhesive strength of applied coatings such as plastic coatings, concrete coats, and mortars and plasters. This mobile pull off tester allows testing on any point of a structure without having to install test devices prior to the casting of concrete.

Integrated digital manometer (with metric and imperial units)Mobile for use in any locationLightweight and preciseIndependent of mains supply due to easy running crank driveConstant jerk-free load increaseAn optional electrical drive unit is available

Resipod is a fully integrated 4-point Wenner probe, designed to measure the electrical resistivity of concrete in a completely non-destructive test. It is the most accurate instrument available, extremely fast and stable and packaged in a robust, waterproof housing designed to operate in a demanding site environment. The Resipod is the successor of the classic CNS Farnell Resistivity Meter.

Surface resistivity measurement provides extremely useful information about the state of a concrete structure. Not only has it been proven to be directly linked to the likelihood of corrosion and the corrosion rate, recent studies have shown that there is a direct correlation between resistivity and chloride diffusion rate and even to determination of early compressive strength. This makes it one of the most versatile NDT methods for concrete.

SN 505 262/1, Annexe E

The Torrent permeability tester permits a rapid and non destructive measurement of the quality of the cover concrete with respect to its durability. Concrete permeability is an excellent indicator of the potential durability and resistance of a particular concrete against the ingress of aggressive media in the gaseous or liquid state.

The data is automatically collected by the display unit and the permeability coefficient kT as well as the penetration depth L of the vacuum are automatically calculatedMeasurement takes 2 - 12 minutes depending on permeability of the concreteThe quality class of the concrete cover of dry concrete can be read from a table using the kT valueIn the case of moist concrete, kT is combined with electrical concrete resistance ρ (rho) and the quality class is determined from a nomogramOptional resistance Wenner-probe to correct the influence of concrete moisture is available.

The calcium chloride vapor emission test was developed over 40 years ago to quantify the volume of water vapor radiating from a concrete slab surface over time. This test is directly specified by the vast majority of the Floor Covering Industry as the primary measure of moisture acceptability for floor covering installation.

Use this test to model the amount of moisture that emits from 1,000 square feet of slab surface in 24 hours. The result is expressed as “pounds” which is the equivalent weight of water, emitted as vapor, over 1,000 square feet in 24 hours. Use this result to compare to Manufacturer’s specifications for floor covering or coating tolerances. Always reference a copy of the Manufacturer’s specifications when reporting results using this test.

Pan-Type Mixers

Model LHeavy Duty

Model CF 35

Model TEC225

The Model ‘L’ Heavy Duty can be fitted with a Pan Tipper which enables the material to be discharged into a wheelbarrow or onto the ground; the Pan Tipper handle is removable for transportation.

The mixing pan and blades are guarded with a Safety Headguard supplied with the mixer. Automatic power take-up is fitted as standard; mixing automatically starts and stops as the mixing head is lowered and raised.

Designed for heavy use, factory production etc.Suitable for mixing a wide range of materials from dry, semi-dry to viscousComplete with mixing panRobust steel constructionSafety guarding to head/pan and motor/engine/gearboxAll spares readily availableCE approved

This model has been designed for small works and on site repairs, and anywhere small quantities of mix are required consistently and quickly.

The pan can be removed from the turntable with a Pan Carrying Handle. Alternatively, a Pan Tipper can be fitted allowing the material to be emptied directly into any suitable container.

The mixing blades are hard-faced on the leading edges to prolong their life and spare parts are readily available from stock.

Designed for Rubber Crub for small works and on-site repairsSuitable for mixing low density light-weight materialsComplete with mixing panRobust steel constructionSafety guarding to head/pan and motor/engine/gearboxAll spares readily availableCE approved

This model is a factory production model with a fast and efficient mixing action achieved by the pan being driven and the aggregates turning the revolving star blade.

Three fixed paddle blades balance the flow of material into a defined path creating a forced mixing action, and the side scraper blade prevents the material building-up on the side of the pan, and also diverts the mix back into the flow of material. Drive to the pan only commences when the mixing head is introduced into the pan, but the drive is controlled to start prior to the blades touching the material.

Capping Compound

Capping Compound Warming Pots

Concrete Capping Pads and Retainers

ASTM C617, AASHTO T231

Hi-Cap™ Capping Compound melts fast, sets fast, and has lower fumes than other brands!

Capping compound is used during sample preparation for compressive strength testing by creating a totally flat parallel surface and adhering in its liquid-viscous state to cover all imperfections or rough surfaces. Once returned to a solid state its compressive strength increases. In about 2 hours a 2 in (51 mm) cube breaks at 8,000 psi to 9,000 psi (55.16 to 62.05 MPa); you can use it on concrete with strength up to 16,000 psi (110.32 MPa) with confidence.

Hi-Cap™ Capping Compound has been heat purified (degassed) to reduce fumes and odors, produces less dust during testing, and dries at a faster rate. Hi-Cap™ has

form.

The Warming Pot is designed for use in any laboratory for melting and maintaining the temperature of capping compounds, paraffins and sealing waxes. All warming Pots are equipped with a cover, pilot light, and adjustable thermostat. Mounted on an air cooled base, the pots incorporate fiberglass and air insulation to keep heat losses to a minimum.

Space-saving, table-top design.Even heat distribution.Thermostatic controlled for accurate heating.Replaceable heating elements.

ASTM C-1231; AASHTO T-22.

Unbonded capping systems are available as an alternative method for use in compression testing of cylindrical concrete specimens. The system is faster, cleaner and odorless as opposed to bonded capping methods.

Capping Pads. Tough elastometric material; 60 durometer pads may be used on any strength concrete; however, the longevity is lowered when used on cylinders in excess of 5,500 psi. 70 durometer pads should be used only on cylinders where concrete is 4,500 psi or higher.

Time saving and odorless.Available in a variety of sizes.
