Peggy Zee’s quest is to share her teaching strategies, knowledge and experiences in curriculum matters

such as language, mathematics and science with early educators and parents so preschool children will have a better chance of enjoying and excelling in maths. Since 1986 up to 2008, many batches of children have graduated from the four child development centres she was associated with. Many who have excelled in mathematics have attributed their success to the early pre-math and math experiences gained in their preschool years.

Sim Yee Peng started her career in the advertising industry, with her last appointment being

Account Director for leading advertising agency Ogilvy & Mather, before joining Procter & Gamble as a Brand Manager.

Prior to joining Capelle Consulting as a Senior Partner, Yee Peng spent 15 years in Hewlett Packard Asia Pacific, with business development and product marketing as her main responsibility. Yee Peng is a four time recipient of HP’s prestigious Asia Pacific High Achiever’s Award.

Fatima Mustafa is currently Director at ECDA, overseeing Sector Planning which includes areas

such as Infrastructure Planning & Building Schemes, Productivity Enhancements, Child Care Subsidies and Manpower Planning. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College and a Masters in Human Resource Management from Rutgers University. She has worked on the transformation of the manpower landscape for the social service sector, system design and productivity enhancements prior to her entry into the early childhood sector. She is also a seasoned presenter at previous conferences in the areas of manpower, productivity and innovation.

Tan Khai Ling is a Senior Consultant in the Hay Group Singapore office. Her work in the education

sector spans from preschools, the Ministry of Education (MOE), independent and international schools, to Institutes of Higher Learning, covering areas such as developing competency models, competency based assessments, talent management framework, performance management systems, analysing and evaluating jobs, developing specialist career tracks, advising on reward philosophies and strategies, and design and implementation of compensation frameworks.

With a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education and driven by a strong passion and interest in

curriculum design, research and innovation, Kelly Hor has led a team of enthusiastic educators to

the conceptualization of the Odyssey in 2008. She has presented various papers on innovative curriculum pedagogy and design at local and international conferences.

Muhammad Fadly graduated from La-Salle SIA College of the Arts in 1999 with a Diploma in

Visual Arts, majoring in Fine Art, Sculpture. He holds a Diploma in Early Childhood Education in Teaching and Leadership. In the span of almost 10 years in the industry, Fadly finds that teaching art to young children is one of the greatest joys and inspiration in his teaching career.

Jemi is passionate about equipping families with skills to be positive agents of change in their environment.

She wrote the guidebook, “Smoothing the Way – A practical guide for administrators and caregivers of young children with special needs”, funded by NCSS.

Developing Young Bilingual Storytellers - A Vygotskian Approach

Jacqueline Chung is the Senior Principal of St. James’ Church Kindergarten. She is currently a PhD

candidate researching children's learning through the visual arts. Jacqueline is a certified trainer of ‘Key to Learning’, a Vygotskyian approach to early childhood education. She conducts parent workshops and teacher training on a variety of topics surrounding the visual arts, music, language and literacy, and leadership.

Cara Lee is the head of the K2 level of St. James’ Church Kindergarten. She holds a Masters in Early

Childhood Education and has been in this field for over a decade. She mentors practicum students and conducts professional development sessions with practitioners in the field. Cara is also a certified trainer of ‘Key to Learning’, a Vygotskyian approach to early childhood education.

Conducting Wild Learning Journeys

Rekha Nair worked as a primary school educator for 11 years before joining Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) in 2010. In 2012, she developed an eight-week outdoor programme to deliver the learning outcomes of MOE’s Programme for Active Learning (PAL).

Peggy Zee’s quest is to share her teaching strategies, knowledge and experiences in curriculum

matters such as language, mathematics and science with early educators and parents so preschool children will have a better chance of enjoying and excelling in maths. She holds a BSc in Child Development and Early Childhood Education and Masters of Education in Special Education. Unleash The Cartoonist In You: Storytelling Through Cartooning

Kamarunisa Mohamed is an Early Childhood Educator with over fifteen years of experience in early

childhood education. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree majoring in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Studies. Miss Mohamed has written and conducted numerous parental education and teacher training courses. She is currently writing her first book on working in early childhood education.

Iskander Walen is a widely published Dutch cartoonist and author of several cartoon books. He is the founder of cartooning studio SG Cartoons and the Singapore Cartooning Institute. His cartoons are commissioned by leading corporations and organizations and his fine art sculptures and paintings have been shown in solo and group exhibitions. Iskander has designed and conducted courses on making cartoons.
