RESEARCH
Research is an on going process which takes up the beginning of any given project. Research is defined as being: a careful or diligent search; a studious inquiry or examination; an investigation or experimentation aimed at the discovery and interpretation of facts for the revision of accepted theories, or laws in the light of new facts; the practical application of such new or revised theories or laws; the collecting of information about a particular s u b j e c t .
The panopticon: by Bentham 1791 [RIGHT], is considered to be the most successful and efficient
architectural means for obtaining security and control of itself – within itself.

In the mid 19th century, educator Henry Barnard wrote about schools: "No public edifice more deserves, or will better repay, the skill, labor, and expense.. for here the health, tastes, manners, minds and morals of each successive generation of children will be, in a great measure, determined for time and eternity."
"No where does an architect have a better chance to display his skill then in the planning of school buildings, and no where does he perform a job of greater importance for public welfare."
- Talbot Hamlin

A New Temple Through out history temples have been the most sacred of our structures; a place devoted to a special purpose. What form could a new temple assume. What form represents the notion of a unified world. What form speaks to the viewers: enriches, inspires them and the immediate vicinity; pure in form and simple in thought.. The torus knot [right] touches down upon the earth subtly in three places. Unbeknownst to its initial observation, it speaks volumes..

Ineffable Earth & Society Institute
Ineffable is defined as being that which is incapable of being e x p r e s s e d in words;
that which is too overwhelming, too awesome or
sacred to be spoken. Such a notion is truly romantic
and purely poetic. This word, ineffable, one should
ponder for a time. To imagine, that which one would hold so dear – to call it . . .

Falling into the water..
The structure shatters the s t a t u s quo view of the world. The city street supplies all of the utilities to the entire city. In the images below, we see the city street bridging over the water and curving up into the heart structure; so that utilities are fed up thru the entire building in the traditional..
…yet metaphorical manner . Breathing life into the structure: supplying all that which it needs to sustain itself.

The School of Elementary
Building Blocks The Library block, delicately rests upon a seemingly inadequate glass façade; its walls are perforated by translucent blocks to maximize penetration of light - while over emphasizing the use of the physical building blocks; metaphorical mental, building blocks. We should "provide the maximum number of favorable opportunities for large populations to intermingle and interact.. to focus human activates, and to make visible by symbolic magnification, the true nature of the h u m a n p r o s p e c t"
- Lewis Mumford, The Urban Prospect

though not expressed here.. theoretically,
..the ultimate educational structure would,
perpetually stimulate minds itself, physically
it would not look like anything.. …not look like this, nor like that
but by its very nature,
..it would captivate one for all time
as this document is but merely a sample of.. architectural philosophy
…as well as, a sample of means to communicate it
it shall conclude with two final habitational notions..

Figure-Ground: Gestalt Principle
forms of structures can begin to use methods and techniques of hypnotism: to affect the mental state, in which, a person's thoughts are influenced by inner and outer stimuli...
symmetry = FINITE vs asymmetry = hope
embrace the use of tectonic shifting planes. Spaces of different function need not be separated nor distinguished via conventional, mind restrictive walls. One can simply shift the floor planes to distinguish one functional space from another. The mind will understand that which is here, from that which is there.

the concept of room or bedroom [right] need not be one of complete isolation. In this case, it is 'one' with the rest of the space - giving and taking, pushing and pulling, imposing itself, yet tucked away. The lighter gray master bathroom can be seen hovering above the steps. it, like the other spaces..

The Neglected Realm Of The Earth
St Denis, located in France, is arguably Europe’s first Gothic Church [1140-1144 AD]. It is poetic that it should be used to represent a new w a y o f l i f e..

how might this new space benefit humanity. If one looks closely, one will see how this new architecture might be..

It is conceivable that this.. …e n v i r o n m e n t will be necessary on this planet or on another astral body. If not necessary, then perhaps preferred. construction methods exist today for creating this life beneath the earth. And why shouldn't it be undertaken..
