5-8 February 2013FIVE, Farnborough, UK
Dear Colleague,
As the Director of International Armoured Vehicles (IAVs), it is my pleasure to invite you to next year’sevent in February at the FIVE in Farnborough, UK, where you will see and experience our most diverse andbusiness-critical show yet – complete with a dynamic vehicle test track.
It is clear that the answers to the IED and asymmetric threats lie in no single country, and also thatopportunities for business, ranging from primary to tertiary suppliers, have expanded globally. This year weare, therefore, very pleased both to welcome back keynote speakers from NATO and allied countries such asthe UK, US, Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark and Norway, but also to welcome representatives fromnations further afield, such as Brazil, Colombia, Malaysia, Australia and Zambia - to mention but a few.
Building on the success of our G6 Industry Leaders’ panel last year, we are developing an emerging marketsvariant. We are also pleased to showcase industry technical expertise and future technological procurementson our first pre-conference Industry Focus Day since it is clear that technical advisors and strategy managersare a crucial part of the armoured vehicle debate.
Armoured Vehicle expenditure remains strong among NATO nations and is increasing in other parts of theworld. Indeed, the global armour and C-IED market has been estimated at some $25Bn this year alone and ispredicted to cumulatively amount to 265Bn up until 2021, with the C-IED threat both increasing, and expandinginto non-expeditionary warfare. At the same time, asymmetric threats are continually prompting vehiclemanufacturers and armour developers to reassess the operational viability of new and developingtechnologies. The recent British Army 2020 Strategy is a reflection of the importance of this: setting armourand mechanised forces in an even more central role.
The agenda, topics and speakers for next year`s conference are set to appeal equally to decision-makers,programme managers, technical experts, military practitioners and industrial suppliers. I am confident that itwill be the best event yet.
If you’d like to join us at this event, please register with us directly online atwww.internationalarmouredvehicles.com or by calling I look forward to welcoming you next February.
Yours sincerely,

The Annual Drinks Reception is back, again kindly sponsored by:
at the end of the first main day on the 6th February. It proved a fantastic hitlast February as a chance for participants to relax
at the end of the day straight after the Awards ceremony. The drinks reception isavailable to all delegates and we would
very much like to thank RUAG for their continued support.
Find the right stream for you. New for 2013, we have four new segments:
MBT upgrades and digitization to reflect an increase in modernisation utilising second and third tier expertise;
Infantry Fighting Vehicle Information and Turret Integration Stream to highlight the digital challenge in integrating weapons systems onto the fastest expanding category of armoured vehicle;
Situational Awareness for Armour to address the unique mechanised challenges in battlespace navigation, target acquisition and communication with dismounted forces;
Armour Simulation detached from live training to provide real solutions to world militaries’ greatest challenge in accommodating brigades’ ability to
operate and incorporate new platforms into their inventory
No conference should ever repeat topics and themes unless the market is completely static. This is a full-scale revamp which
stresses the business critical topics for both NATO / allies and emerging powers.
We want to ensure everyone has theopportunity for face time with top speakers and
country-delegations and so we've introducedMilitary VIP tours, which provide effective
networking with business critical representatives,removing the flurry of unrelated visitors involved
in the normal trade-show format.
MilitaryDelegation Tour

At the heart of the exhibition, completely free for exhibitionattendees, this year’s Innovation Stage has been divided up into five
key segments across the two main days of the event featuring:
Survivability | Innovative Armour | SimulationMaintenance | Industry Requirements
If you have a product or system innovation that you think themarket needs to hear, make your voice heard.
The agenda will be ready by the end of October, but space is fast filling up. If you want to take advantage of this unique
opportunity, make sure you contact Nick Harragin before the 26th October at +44 (0) 207 369 9714 or email
[email protected] to discuss how you can showcase your thought leadership to the
armoured vehicle community.

The innovation briefing basically gives you the occasion to very specifically relay your message. It’s short, 20 minutes, a low barrier for people just to hop in and hop out and that’s why we like it.

I very much look forward to attending IAVs 2013. Gala DrinksReceptionThis year, we’ve increased the number
of vehicles from 9 last year to 15 this year. Why? The exhibition is the key
segment to finding solutions to the problemsand challenges raised in the conference – and one of the key ways of doing this is to be able to actually handle and explore
armoured vehicles themselves. Early vehicleexhibitors feature Ares Security Vehicles,
IAG, Streit Group and more.

There are lots of conferences around, butthere’s not another one on this sort of scalethat is specifically focussed on armouredvehicles, so it fills a very useful niche.Lieutenant General Christopher Michael Deverell, Director Land Materiel, DE&S UK MoD [quoted in February 2012 whilst in his previous role]

7 Key Reasons To Sponsor
T: +44 (0)20 7368 9373 | F: +44 (0)20 7368 9377 | E: [email protected]
Position your Company Brand and Demonstrate yourThought Leadership to the CommunityInternational Armoured Vehicles has a strong tradition of showcasingproducts and thought leading presentations from the key service providers inthe sector. Through an integrated mixture of exhibition stands, brandingand/or presentations, you're able get across your message in the most effectway possible. Indeed, with a mix of presentations, panel discussions andexhibitions already confirmed from decision makers and thought leaders inmajor companies including Renault Trucks, Saab, Nexter, RUAG and IVECOand Barco, you'll be in good company!
NEW for 2013! Exhibit your Vehicle or Subsystem atthe IAVs Test TrackWe have introduced the Dynamic Vehicle Experience at the Long Valley TestTrack for this year’s International Armoured Vehicles conference andexhibition. It’s an ideal opportunity for programme managers and budgetholders to not only hear about or see a sponsor’s vehicle, but to experiencevehicle capabilities on a test track designed with different terrains andobstacles. The track is categorised as a ‘severe off-road’ facility.
International Armoured Vehicles now offers sponsors the opporunity toshowcase their vehicle's capabilities just a stone's throw away from the mainconference: from meeting and networking, to displaying vehicles within theexhibition hall, and then to ‘live’ showcasing at the Long Valley Test Track. Ifyou are a vehicle manufacture or a subsystems provider with a test vehicleyou simply cannot afford not to get in touch to hear more!
Launch New Products or ServicesInternational Armoured Vehicles has always provided the perfect forum tolaunch and promote the latest products or systems. With the most seniorfigures from the industry in attendance, plus carefully selected media partnersand press at the event, innovative new technology will always generate abuzz. In bringing together specific decision makers from the armoured vehiclecommunity as well as the key programme managers deciding on specificrequirements, all of whom have strong business reasons for attending theevent, we can ensure a much greater impact for your new product and ahigher conversion rate for investment.
Focus Day and Topic Streams Chairing OpportunitiesThere's nothing more central to an event than its chairmen. This year, as the sponsor of one ofour specific focus days or topic streams you'll immediately become the leading eventrepresentative in the field (be it Situational Awareness, Simulation, Armouring, IndustryRequirements Focus Day etc). As well as providing the opening introduction for the day'sproceedings, you'll have the opportunity to kick off Q&A discussions after presentations with atailored question, and most importantly keep in close contact with our leading speakers inorder to discuss and shape the day's proceedings.
Enjoy Our Exclusive Pre-Conference Ice BreakerWe know how hard can be to take advantage of networking opportunities at events: by thefirst break you've met a few interesting people, by lunch you're putting faces to the namesof the key delegates you want to meet, and by the time you get to talk with them it's theend of the day. Our Pre-Conference Ice-Breaker solves this issue, bringing together oursenior delegates and sponsors for a few drinks and a few rounds of golf on our speciallyinstalled indoor golf simulator on the evening before the Main Conference, so that you canbuild the contacts you need ready for that all important first day of the conference.
Maintain your Existing Client Base and Enter Emerging Markets All InOne PlaceAs a UK based event, we're proud to provide the best possible service that we can to the UKMoD and British Forces. As the largest dedicated event for the global armoured vehiclecommunity, however, we also pride ourselves on gathering together key decision makers fromacross the world to discuss the advances being made by a broad spectrum of internationalforces. In doing so, we provide you with the opportunity to reinforce your existing relationshipswith UK and European forces, as well as showing your successes to the wider internationalcommunity without having to break the budget in going to an overseas trade fair.
Experience The Dual Benefits of an Integrated Conference andExhibitionWe know what it's like seeing stand after stand of products, or trying to showcase yourtechnology to a large crowd. So often a ground-breaking innovation or that vital sense ofurgency to find new solutions is forgotten as exhibition fatigue sets in. At InternationalArmoured Vehicles we believe the solution is in "targeted viewing": using our conference andInnovation Stage as a means to define the urgent operational and market requirements, andthen allowing our senior military, industry and R&D representatives to assess a tailored range ofsolutions to these requirements in the exhibition space.
