Conferences The Egyptian Pediatric Association had the idea of collabora- tive effort present at inception. EPA has participated, inaugurated, hosted and propagated the idea of forums for pediatricians, general and specialized. Regional Conferences Organized 1960: Congress of the Union of the Mediterranean & Middle Eastern Pediatric Societies, 1984: Congress of the Union of the Middle Eastern & Mediterranean Pediatric Societies, 1989: 1st Congress of the Union of Arab Pediatric Societies, 1990: 2nd Congress of the Union of Arab Pediatric Societies, 1991: 3rd Congress of the Union of Arab Pediatric Societies, 2006: 14th Congress of the Union of Arab Pediatric Societies, 2008: 15th Congress of the Union of Arab Pediatricians. Rewriting the Egyptian Constitution 2013 The EPA organized and instituted a public awareness and lobbying campaign to include an updated version of Child Rights into the rewriting of the Egyptian constitution. These efforts came to fruition when the constitutional committee held a special hearing session where EPA’s presi- dent Prof H.K. Bahaaeldin presented the proposed amend- ments of the Egyptian Pediatric Association. Peer review under responsibility of Egyptian Pediatric Association Gazette.
