The Modify Configurations

dialog box provides a table where you

can create and modify

configurations for commonly configured

parameters in parts and assemblies.

You can perform the following operations in the Modify Configurations dialog box: Add, delete, and rename configurations. Create, edit, and delete configuration-specific custom properties. Rename features and dimensions. Un-configure parameters, which applies the active configuration's value to

all configurations. In parts, you can configure:

Dimensions of features and sketches Suppression states of features and sketches Material Custom properties

In assemblies, you can configure: Which configurations of components to use Dimensions of assembly features and mates Suppression states of components, assembly features, and mates Custom properties

To access the Modify Configurations dialog do one of the following:

Right-click an item and click Configure

Dimension, Configure Feature, Configure Component, or Configure Material.

Modify a previously saved table in the ConfigurationManager, expand Tables, right-click a saved table, and click Show Table.

Select a feature, sketch, or mate in the FeatureManager design tree to make its dimensions visible in the graphics area.

In the graphics area, right-click a dimension and click Configure Dimension

In the Modify Configurations dialog box, you can: Create new configurations. Edit the dimension values for each

configuration. Click the arrow at the top of the

column to select other parameters of the sketch or feature to configure.

In the FeatureManager design tree or graphics area, right-click a feature, sketch, or mate and click Configure Feature

In the Modify Configurations dialog box, you can: Create new configurations. Suppress or unsuppress the

feature for each configuration. Click the arrow at the top of the

column to select other parameters of the sketch or feature to configure

In an assembly, right-click a component and click Configure Component.

In the Modify Configurations dialog box, you can: Create new assembly

configurations.

Change the component configuration used in each assembly configuration.

Suppress or unsuppress the component for each assembly configuration.

In the FeatureManager design tree, right-click Material and click Configure Material. The Modify Configurations dialog box

appears. In the Material column, a drop-down list of material Favorites is available for each configuration.

To specify a material for a configuration, click the arrow in the Material column, and then do one of the following: Select a material from the list. Select Browse More at the bottom of

the list to access the Material dialog box, where you can select a predefined material or create a custom material.

In the Modify Configurations dialog box, at the bottom of the Configuration Name column, click <Creates a new configuration>.

Type a name and press Enter.

You can right-click any configuration and click the following: Rename Configuration Delete Configuration Add Derived Configuration Switch to Configuration.

Makes the selected configuration the active one.

Double-click items (features, sketches, etc.) in the graphics area or FeatureManager design tree to add their configurable parameters to the table.

To remove an item from the table, right-click its column header and click Delete. The item is removed from the

table. It remains unchanged in the model.

To Unconfigure a parameter, right-click the column heading and click Unconfigure.

The active configuration's value for the parameter is applied to all configurations, and the column disappears from the table.

To edit parameter values, click in a cell and: Type to change numeric

values. Select or clear check

boxes to change the suppression state of features, sketches, components, and mates.

Select from a list of component configurations or part materials.

To rename a feature or sketch:

Right-click the name in the column header and click Rename. Type a new name.

The name changes in the dialog box. Click Apply. The name updates in the FeatureManager design tree.

You can add a column for every configured parameter in the model at once by clicking All Parameters at the bottom of the dialog box

At the bottom of the Modify Configurations dialog box, click Hide/Show Custom Properties .

To configure existing properties, click the arrow at the top of the Custom Properties column, select properties, and click in a blank area of the dialog box. A column is added for each property

you selected. To add a new property:

Click the arrow at the top of the Custom Properties column and select “New Property” at the bottom of the list.

Click in a blank area of the dialog box.

In the column header, right-click New Property and click Rename.

Type a name and press Enter. To change property values, click in

a cell and type.

To save the current view of the table and apply changes to the model For New Tables:

▪ Type in a name for the Table

▪ Click the Save Table View icon.

For Existing Tables: ▪ Click the Save Table View

icon.

If you forget the Configurations will be created but a Table will not be Created/Updated
