P s y c h o l o g i c a l E x a m i n a t i o n . - P s y c h o l o g i c a l e v a l u a t i o n o fmost c h i l d r e n was made b y means o f t h e M e r r i l l - P a l m e r andG r i f f i t h s c a l e s . The i n t e l l i g e n c e o f c h i l d r e n who c o u l d no t b eg i v e n f o r m a l t e s t i n g was e s t i m a t e d b y a p s y c h o l o g i s t .

SEROLOGICAL RESULTSO f t h e 1 3 9 c h i l d r e n e x a m i n e d 8 5 ( 6 1 ' , , ) were f o u n d t o h a v er u b e l l a a n t i b o d y ( s e r o p o s i t i v e ) a n d 5 4 ( 3 9 % X , , ) h a d no d e t e c t -a b l e a n t i b o d y ( s e r o n e g a t i v e ) . A h i s t o r y o f m a t e r n a l r u b e l l ar a s h o r c o n t a c t wa s o b t a i n e d i n 6 4 o f t h e 8 5 s e r o p o s i t i v ec a s e s .
