Yom Ha’Atzmaut Peace of Mind program: In an effort to bring another unit of soldiers to our community, we are having our 1st fundraiser for Peace of Mind by celebrating Israel's 67th birthday. Please come to RPRY on April 23rd to enjoy a carnival and delicious food from the kosher bbq truck, the Wandering Que, under star-K supervision. The event is from 5-9 pm. Admission is $18/ person, $36/family, not including food purchases. All proceeds go to the Peace of Mind program helping IDF combat veterans transition back to civilian life. YU Kollel Elyon Representatives’ Bios: R' Shaya First, who will be speaking to us Friday evening, serves as the Rabbinic Intern of the Young Israel of Monsey and Wesley Hills and teaches part time at Yeshiva University High School for Boys. Originally from Teaneck, NJ, Shaya completed his B.A. in Mathematics at Yeshiva College in May 2011. He served as Rabbinic Intern in the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates from 2013-2014, and has spent his past five summers running Camp Morasha's High School Kollel program. While completing his studies in the Beren Kollel Elyon, he is also pursuing Master's degrees in Jewish Education from the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Studies and in Medieval Jewish History from the Bernard Revel Graduate School. R’ Ephraim Meth, who will be speaking to us during Shalosh Seudos, is the Rabbi of Cong. Ahavas Achim in Fairfield, CT. He is a Rosh Chaburah and Sho’eil uMaishiv at Yeshiva University, as well as a Kupietsky Kodshim Fellow at Yeshiva University’s Kollel Elyon. Rabbi Meth has taught in many venues, including Cong. Poalei Zedek of Pittsburgh, Cong. Bnai Yeshurun of Teaneck, the Bucharian World Jewish Center, Kollel Agra dePirka (the retirees kollel), and Yeshiva University's High School for Boys. He is the author of the multi-volume Sha’ashuei Ephraim series, a commentary on the Talmud, of What We Can Do to Help Our Brothers and Sisters in Eretz Yisrael, and of the newly published Mirrors & Apple Trees: The Lomdus of Peru uRevu.
