    From 19 to 21 April 2016, the 9 th conhIT – Connecting Healthcare

    IT will present the complete range of healthcare information

    technology. About 400 exhibitors and 7,500 visitors are expected

    to participate in this year’s event. Manufacturers and users as

    well as representatives of politics, science and administration

    will meet in the industry fair, the congress, the academy, and

    various attractive networking events to nd out about the

    latest developments in the industry and to learn from each

    other’s experiences.

    CONGRESS

    The congress is placed under the slogan: “Patient in the Focus –

    Innovative Healthcare IT”. Visitors can look forward to a high-

    class, diversied programme, planned by representatives of major

    target groups with the information and training needs of the

    healthcare IT industry strongly in mind.

    ACADEMY

    In the four academy seminars, users and providers work out

    solutions for current issues in Health IT together with experts.

    Each seminar is limited to 40 participants, so early registration is

    strongly recommended. Academy seminars will only be held in

    German.

    NETWORKING

    Numerous networking events are organized in collaboration

    with national and international institutions and include all stake-holders in the sector. Networking events encompass hands-on

    presentations, discussions and workshops, excursions, exhibition

    tours and career events, offering various opportunities to ex-

    change ideas, to network, and to advance industry concerns

    by working together. We offer special international networking

    opportunities for foreign guests (please refer to pages 5–7).

    The current conditions and increasing number of patients makes itinevitable for emergency departments to improve their processes

    – early triage, extensive (electronic) documentation of the therapy

    process and reassignment of patients to a stationary therapy after

    completion of treatment.

    The seminar offers a producer independent general view of IT

    systems for emergency departments. Physicians report how they

    optimized their processes. In addition, different solutions in

    emergency departments as well as practical experiences during

    implementation in clinics will be demonstrated.

    It will be shown how IT has to be adjusted to the specics of

    emergency department and how the interaction with e.g. HIS can

    be achieved efcient and comfortable.

    The aim of the seminar is to introduce, clarify the benets, and

    present practical experiences of IHE-based system architectures.

    The seminar will not only touch on the XDS prole. Rather, the

    integration of IHE-based infrastructures in an existing system is

    in the foreground.

    Aspects such as rights management, patient management and

    Master Patient Index, implementation of old data and conditions

    will play a role both in terms of tenders and subsequent following

    projects. The participants should then be able to plan IHE

    compliant solutions, determine requirements, and assess the

    benets for their institution.
