DESCRIPTION: This session will address the current treatment recommendations for hemorrhagic shock in children of trauma. We will discuss the use of TXA (tranexamic acid), as well as the changing transfusion trends being seen in adult resuscitations and their applicability to pediatric patients. Also, has “damage control resuscitation” made it from principle to prac-tice? We will review the literature of all these issues and have testimonials from experts in the field, while using a case-based approach.

DESCRIPTION: Boys and their toys; playing with power tools; medicine meets machines. All of these topics will be discussed as they pertain to emergency care. There are lots of “toys” out there, but what the books teach and more importantly, what they don’t teach (and really should), are covered in this fast-paced research meets reality review of all things alternate airway and intraosseous!

DESCRIPTION: Envenomation’s are a traumatic disease, but for years have been incorrectly treated as a surgical disease. Globally, a significant number of people are killed or maimed by envenomation and not treated with up-to-date, evidence and experience based medi-cine but with status quo and hearsay. In this talk we will visit up to date envenomation care of snakebite envenomation for both the pre-hospital and hospital practitioners. Hear the proper care from the medical director of Venom Response Team as seen on TV’s “Swamp Wars”.
