Architecture

The central Xtract QV server component constitutes the data hub between SAP and QlikView applications. Extractions are created as well as accesses released and monitored for consumers via the Designer. Access is to one or more SAP ERP or SAP BW systems.

Integration of SAP BW

Access to SAP BW in the simplest case is via known (and usually already existing) MDX or BEx queries. When there are very large data extractions, we recommend using the Open Hub Services or Export DataSources. When extracting hierarchies the specifically for this reason developed hierarchy component is suitable. Of course, all queries can be structured dynamically using variables.

Integration of SAP ERP

Access to SAP ERP can be structured in different ways depending on which extraction type is best suited for the respective requirement: » Tables (including pool and cluster tables) or Table-Joins

» BAPIs and RFC function modules

» ABAP reports (e.g., from the module FI / CO) The elite class among extraction types is DeltaQ. Using the DeltaQ type, the BW extractors can be used as data suppliers in SAP ERP. » Business logic is available
