1 Step 1 Check the current radio station settings. Step 2 Remove the necessary panels to obtain access to the wiring. Step 3 Identify the wire that will be used for the fitment. Refer to the attached wiring diagrams Step 4 Remove the negative battery terminal to prevent possible shorting during installation. Step 5 Integrate the positive wire from the tracking devise into the selected wire on the vehicle. Use the following crimping method. Note: No wire must be cut and re-joined. Step 6 Install the earth wire onto body earth. Toyota would prefer that the earth wire be bolted onto the body and not spliced into existing body earth wires. Note: No wiring should be soldered on Toyota vehicles. Step 7 Place the unit in an area that will not interfere with any of the vehicles functions. Below are some examples of functional items. a SRS (Safety Restraint Systems) b Steering c Gear shift d Brake, accelerator and clutch pedals. e Parking Brake f Ventilation system (Air vents and flaps) Note: The unit must be placed and insulated in such a way that it will not cause rattles. Step 8 Assemble the vehicle interior. Step 9 Re-connect the battery. Step 10 Tune the radio back to the original radio stations. Step 1

Check the current radio station settings.

Step 2

Remove the necessary panels to obtain access to the wiring.

Step 3

Identify the wire that will be used for the fitment. Refer to the attached wiring diagrams

Step 4

Remove the negative battery terminal to prevent possible shorting during installation.

Step 5

Integrate the positive wire from the tracking devise into the selected wire on the vehicle. Use the following crimping method.

Note: No wire must be cut and re-joined.

Step 6

Install the earth wire onto body earth. Toyota would prefer that the earth wire be bolted onto the body and not spliced

into existing body earth wires.

A: Connection in Engine Room Junction / Relay Block

A positive connection can be made within the Engine Room Junction /

Relay Block to the Tracking device.

The AM2 wire (white / red) flowing from the AM2 fusible link to the

Starter relay may be used for this connection.

The bolts of the Engine Room Junction / Relay Block must be removed

in order to remove the bottom cover.

A connection can be made to this

white / red AM2 wire.

B: Connection in Engine Room

A positive connection can be made to the AM2 wire (white / red)

between the Engine Room Junction / Relay Block

(situated in the engine compartment) and the

Driver Side Junction Block (Situated below the steering column).

This wire can be found in the Engine Bay Harness as indicated

below.

C: Connection Inside vehicle: Driver Side Junction Block (AM2 Wire)

A positive connection can be made to the AM2 wire (white / red)

between the Engine Room Junction / Relay Block

(situated in the engine compartment) and the

Driver Side Junction Block (Situated below the steering column).

This wire can be found below the Driver Side junction Block.

A connection can be made to the White / Red AM2 wire situated

inside the vehicle below the Driver Side Junction Block.

D: Connection Inside vehicle: Driver Side Junction Block (HTR Wire)

A positive connection can be made to the HTR wire (Blue / Black)

between the Engine Room Junction / Relay Block

(situated in the engine compartment) and the

Driver Side Junction Block (Situated below the steering column).

This wire can be found below the Driver Side junction Block.

Location on vehicle:

A connection can be made to the Blue / Black

HTR AM2 wire situated inside the vehicle below

the Driver Side Junction Block.

E: Connection Inside vehicle: Cowl Side Panel Relay Block LH (IG1 Wire)

A positive connection can be made to the IG1 wire (white / red) at the Cowl Side Relay Block LH.

A positive connection can be made to the IG1 wire

(white / red) at the Cowl Side Relay Block LH.

A connection can be made to the IG1 wire (white / red) at the Cowl Side Relay Block LH.

G: Connection Inside vehicle: Harness on floor - Drivers Door (Rear A/C)

The Fortuner is equipped with

a Rear Air Conditioner unit.

The power supply for this Rear A/C

unit may be used for a positive

connection to the tracking device.

This wire (Red) runs in the floor

harness and is accessible at both

the RF and RR doors.

Connection at RF door

The power supply wire (red) to the rear air conditioner unit may be used to make a positive connection.

This wire can be found in the floor harness of the RF door.

H: Connection Inside vehicle: Harness on floor - Right Rear Door (Rear A/C)

Connection at RR door

The power supply wire (red) to the rear air conditioner unit may be used to make a positive connection.

This wire can be found in the floor harness of the RR door.

Earth Connections

All earth connections must

be made to the vehicle's body.

Existing nuts / treads must be

used to earth the tracking device.
