Official Tournament RulesEligibility: a. All state & federal penal code laws shall apply at all
times. b. All state, Coast Guard, federal, parks & wildlife
regulations shall apply at all times. c. This tournament is designed primarily for amateurs;
therefore, anyone who has fished four or more tournaments in the past 12 months with an entry fee of $600 or more will not be eligible to compete in this tournament. Any valid licensed guide on Lake Conroe, Texas will not be eligible to compete in this tournament.
d. Contestants must have a valid Texas fishing license on their person unless exempt. Each contestant must also have a valid drivers license or other form of picture identification.
e. Each person in boat must be a paid contestant of this tournament and abide by all tournament rules and regulations.
f. A contestant found to be in violation of any tournament rules and regulations will be subject to disqualification without recourse.
g. Anyone who has failed a polygraph test in connection with any bass tournament shall not be eligible to enter this tournament. Tournament officials have the right to refuse any entry. All decisions made by tournament directors are official.
h. Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a registered parent or adult with written parental permission.
Registration and Entry Fee: a. Entry fee must be paid before fishing. b. No refund of entry fee for any reason. No exceptions! c. Regular entry fee will be $125 (one day fished) or
$150.00 (two days fished) paid at time of contestant’s initial registration. It is understood that $25.00 of each entry fee is a voluntary contribution to the Police Activity League programs. PAL sponsored programs include: summer camp, after-school programs, and Junior Leadership College Scholarship Fund. All above money and prizes will be paid based on 200 two-day entries.

AlcoholicBeverages: a. During tournament
hours no alcoholic beverages are to be consumed by tournament contestant or allowed in contestant’s boat unless tournament contestant is finished fishing for the tournament day.
b. No firearms allowed in boats during fishing hours.
Safety: (The following is mandatory)
a. Ignition cut-off device (kill switch) must operate properly, which means when the kill switch is activated the outboard main engine must stop running immediately. The ignition cut-off device (kill switch) must be attached to boat operator at all times while the outboard main engine is in use. However, kill switches are not required on boats unless equipped with one when manufactured.
b. Boat operator must show proof of registration. c. U. S. Coast Guard approved life jackets are required for
each person on board. Life jackets must be worn and fastened while main engine is in use.
d. No boat shall be overpowered (i.e., have a motor of higher horsepower than the approved Coast Guard maximum).
e. The tournament will be held regardless of weather. (Should conditions threaten safety, please use caution.)
f. Anyone taking medication should notify tournament officials.
Boat Inspection: a. All contestants, by entering this tournament, hereby
agree to allow their boats to be boarded and inspected by tournament officials at any time during the tournament, to include, but not limited to, their boat registration, Coast Guard horsepower rating plate, live well, rod boxes, closed storage compartments, tackle boxes, life jackets, PFD’s and safety equipment. Refer to checklist.
Permitted Fishing Areas & Hours: a. Fish must be caught on tournament lake Saturday
between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. First weigh-in is between 7 and 8 a.m.
b. Tournament lake off limits for fishing begins 8 p.m. Friday and ends 6 a.m. Saturday, and 8 p.m. Saturday and ends at 6 a.m. Sunday.
c. Contestants may leave from any launch site on tournament lake at any time, but no casting until 6:00 a.m.
d. No fishing within 50 yards of a marina gas pump. e. No one may leave his or her boat to fish or land a fish. f. No fishing from canoes, float tubes, or kayaks.
Tackle and Equipment: a. All bass must be caught on artificial bait by casting. No
trolling with big motor. Only one rod may be used at any one time by contestants. Other rods may be in the boat for substitute purposes.
b. Bass may be caught from a legal motorized boat. c. No electronic tracking devices (implanted microchips)
may be used to locate fish for tournament purposes (depth-finders and graph charts are the only exception).
Weigh-in sportsmanship and conservation:
a. Sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation are expected from every participant.
b. A contestant should be able to make a full cast in any direction without any interference from another contestant.
c. All bass weighed-in will become the property of the tournament and will be released back into the lake alive if possible.
d. Trailering a bass to weigh-in site during tournament hours will be permissible. No bass on ice. Bass must be alive to be weighed in. However, any contestant whether trailering or not, shall be required to bring their boat and respective partner or partners, if any, with them to the official weigh-in site for a boat inspection when weighing bass in on any respective hour.
e. For conservation reasons, all bass brought in official weigh-in station must be in weigh-in bag with water.
f. No contestant may weigh-in more than one bass per official tournament hour. More than one bass per weigh-in bag is prohibited. Bass entered in the Big Bass of the Hour do not carry forward from hour to hour.
g. Bass must be weighed in by the contestant who originally caught the bass and it must be in said contestant’s actual physical possession in the weigh-in line when said contestant declares ready to weigh. The last official weigh-in will end Saturday at 3 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
h. Any artificially weighed or preserved bass will be disqualified and that contestant will be subject to prosecution under federal law.
i. Any questionable bass will be subject to inspection by a marine biologist similarly qualified expert from the Parks & Wildlife Department.
j. This is a Big Bass Tournament (one bass). Only large mouth, small mouth and Kentucky spotted bass (black bass) 16 inches and over will be weighed in.
k. No contestant may have more than five bass in possession at any time during official tournament hours.
Polygraph: a. Polygraph test will be given on a random basis and
must be passed. b. Each contestant, by signing the entry form, agrees to
submit to a polygraph. c. All contestants who have placed during said hour,
their respective partners and boats, must remain at the official tournament site until said hourly winners are declared official. If not present, contestants will automatically be disqualified.
d. Any contestant determined by the polygraph examination or other tournament officials to be intoxicated or on any type of illegal drugs at the time said contestant is required to take the polygraph examination or in violation of tournament rules, will be disqualified from this and all future tournaments.
e. Any contestant found to be in possession of any illegal substance will be subject to disqualification and prosecution.

The following items will be checked when contestants weigh in. Any violation of any rules
regarding the following items will be causefor immediate disqualification:

Decisions: a. All decisions of the Tournament Directors are final. b. All protests must be registered in writing with the
Tournament Director within 15 minutes of the designated weigh-in.
Information: a. Any and all announcements concerning
emergencies and hourly results will be broadcast over the Official radio station. Bring a portable radio in your boat.
b. This Tournament is designed for Amateur Fishermen and Fisherladies.
