The focus is on eachhotel’s individual setting, maximizing both the natural beauty and unique history, with each guest welcomed as a VIP.Building on experience and a strong base in the Indian Ocean where the idea of partnership, hospitality and customer careis at the heart of human relations, the Constance art of hospitality is founded on respect rather than complacency, onrefinement rather than ostentation.Constance Hotels has an excellent reputation, built on the success of its unique luxury hotels on the paradise island ofMauritius (Constance Le Prince Maurice & Constance Belle Mare Plage), in the Seychelles (Constance Lémuria Resort),in Madagascar (Constance Lodge Tsarabanjina) and in the Maldives (Constance Halaveli Resort). The Constance HotelsExperience brand is now being further enhanced with the opening of Constance Ephélia Resort on Mahé in the Seychellesscheduled for February 2010 and the forthcoming inauguration of Constance Moofushi Resort in the Maldives in August2010.

Overview of Constance Halaveli Resort of Maldives- History, location, access and opening dates

The Maldives consists of 1,190 coral islands, forming an archipelago of 26 major atolls, and stretching 820 kilometers northto south and 120 kilometers east to west. 202 atolls are inhabited, 87 are exclusive resort island. Atolls are defined as ‘aring-shaped coral reef or a string of closely spaced small coral islands, enclosing or nearly enclosing a shallow lagoon’.Malé International Airport is the gateway from which all the seaplane transfers depart. The total population of the Maldives is approximately 270,000 but the actual origin of the Maldivians is lost in antiquity.Yet history reveals that the islands have been populated for over 3,000 years, the early settlers being travelling mariners onthe Silk Route and from the Indus Valley civilization. The Maldives is a special place - a melting pot of diverse cultures that have influenced its development - with a warm andhospitable mentality among its people. Tradition plays an important part of this island culture, but one finds too adestination focused on growth and improvement.Constance Halaveli Resort is ensconced within the North Ari Atoll, west of the main atoll of Malé - a quick hop viaseaplane or by boat. The resort lies perched above azure waters and the property offer 86 private and exclusive units.Constance Hotels Experience philosophy is to create resorts in only the most spectacular locations. This one is nodifferent with sunshine year-round and a temperature around 29-32 degree centigrade

Concept and Design

The doni or dhoni ( in divehi : dhoani ) is the main traditional Maldivian means oftransport. Made of coconut wood, the dhoni’s aesthetic is totally adapted to sailing incoral zones: of oval shape and with a flat bottom, it is easy to handle, with a shallowdraught making it possible to berth on any island. In Halaveli, each one of the 86 suites, on the beach or over the lagoon, takes on elementsof this design, blending in with the natural surroundings.
