With 780 acre (316 ha) about 350-million years ago this part of Pennsylvania was on the coastline and shallow sea that covered most interior of North America wide of variety wildlife is found in WORLDS END STATE PARK
Over 200-species of birds and fossil is an evidence of previous life Dinosaur bones are found.
The name Belum could originates from the aborigines of Belum which are
believed from the Mon-Khmer group.
They could have reached Malaysia through Thailand. Satun in Southern
Thailand is also called Satul. The “L” is replaced with “N”.
It is believed that “Belum” could have its origins from “Benum”. Just like
Phnom Phenh of Cambodia.
Phnom refers to hilly areas. And thus, “Belum” or “Benum” might sound more
like “Phnom” which best describes the hilly terrains of Royal Belum State
Park.
Royal Belum State Park (originally name by Malaysian Nature Society -MNS
1995).
The State Park noted three names have been used Worlds END, Whirls Glen, and Whirls END.
The First name arose from topology of the place.
Second does whirlpool in a bend of Loyalsock Creek The State Park was originally name
Worlds End State Park in 1932 then change Whirls End State Forest Park in 1936 then to
Worlds End State Forest Park in 1943 the word FOREST was dropped in 1954 - up to today the
State Park name WORLDS END STATE PARK
A manmade lake used for water catchment men has a variety of freshwater fish the place is full with small islands (actually peaks of mountains and hills) that can be visited.
There are also quite a few endangered animal species that live within the state park; Malaysian tigers, Sumatran rhinoceros, Malaysian Sunbear, tapirs and the white-handed gibbon. Chances on an encounter with these great animals are however very slim.
State Park has been taking care of Pennsylvania DCNR (Department of Conservation and Natural Resources) in America and one of them is the Worlds End State Park
