pment of double page spread…(first draft) To finish the article I downloaded a font from DaFont.com called Cheri. This resembled handwriting and was almost signature like to make this article seems to more personal to Maddie therefore to the reader. Page numbers, name and month. I have included these because they are included in most music magazine and I wanted to follow the conventions to make it look as professional as possible. I took inspiration here from Q magazine as they use a drop-down feature similar to this. I think it works really works and embeds the theme I was trying to achieve in the construction of this magazine that Maddie is a positive role model and an ‘icon’.

Development of double page spread…(first draft)To finish the article I downloaded a font from DaFont.com called Cheri.

Drop caps are something that is seen on nearly all magazines and newspapers. It is even seen on music magazine so I thought this was necessary. I used the font – HKDisplay for this letter this but a different simple font for everything else – this made it easy to reader for the audience.

I thought this was a really nice feature adding ‘Maddy’s top tracks of the moment’. It split the interview up a little bit and added extra detail.I took a picture of a drawing pin and uploaded it onto my computer. I then removed the background on Photoshop and slightly edited (the shading). I think it adds a nice bit of detail.

Credits – this is usually here – under the title/subtitle or at the end. I tried it both ways but just think it looked more aesthetically pleasing here.

Many artists have interviews because they have an up and coming tour/single or album so they use magazine interviews to promote themselves. I have advertised Maddy’s ‘debut album’ here to follow usual codes and conventions because it works so well.

The general layout of the interview was question and answer with the interviewer in red and italic font and Maddy just in black. I did it this way around and not the other because I felt that Maddy’s answers are longer so having her in red and italics would be too distracting and would not look as good. This was really worked and it is seen like this in many music magazines I took inspiration from such as NME.

Quotes from in the text. This is used to intrigue the audience and make them want to read the article and attract the audience.

As you can see on this picture – her bun is slightly cut off. I really liked the natural lighting on it so I really wanted to use it. I used Photoshop to take a bun off this picture – and moved it onto that picture. It looks really realistic and I was able to use the picture I wanted to.
