The rich experience and powerful production potential of the System-Service group of companies go back to 1976. It was then that the Almetyevsk base for worksite mainte-nance of electric submersible units was created in the Tat-neft association (ATsBPO EPU). The enterprise ensured the practical implementation of the uniform technological policy in the area of maintenance and rental of electric submers-ible installations. In as little as two years after its founda-tion, the corporate team came out on top in the USSR, and for a long time remained the leader in a number of installed units of electric centrifugal pumps. Later, production of in-sulated wires and cables for various purposes was launched, too. The company’s specialists designed, manufactured and brought into operationequipment for production of second-ary granulated polyethyleneusing the company’s own re-sources.

Knowledge and experience of specialists from LLC Perekryvatel in performing the works on en-

gineering support allows optimizing the selection of bits and BHA for specific mining and geological

drilling conditions, reducing the costs of machine drilling, reducing the well site construction time, and

Equipment for local wellbore wall lining

Purpose:

Equipment for local wellbore wall lining (ELBW) is intended to cover the intervals of disastrous lost circulation of flushing fluid in the openhole during the drilling of wells. Composition: profile packer (longitudinally corrugated pipes) and a tool for installation thereof.

Scope of application:

Vertical, directional and horizontal wells.

Operational concept:

The local well lining technology is that casings the diameter of which is larger than the diameter of a well are profiled along the entire length and decreased in cross-section by the value allowing to lower them freely into the well, and increase the diameter of a well bore with an expanding reamer up to a diameter of starting (plain) casings in the period of a trouble. After a profile tie-back casing is lowered into the well with drilling pipes, the profile pipes shall be straightened to the original size and tightly pressed against the wall of the expanded well section.

Advantages: • the problem of isolating zones with intensive drilling mud losses is solved; • the use of intermediate strings and tie-back casing is excluded; • the energy intensity, material consumption and the terms of well

construction are reduced.

Technologies:

Depending on the equipment functional purpose, various modifications of

the ELSW are provided (see table) for the purpose of:

• sequential local overlapping of trouble zones in the course of

penetration thereof;

• adding length of casing strings from below by pipes with a diameter of

219, 245 mm without reduction of the inside diameter of the well;

• separation of water-bearing formations from productive formations to

the lowering of the production string;

• separation of individual sections in horizontal wells.

The technology and equipment for local wellbore wall lining have more

than 40 patents of the Russian Federation and 53 patents of foreign countries,

including the USA, Canada, Australia, China, India, Norway, Japan, Germany,

Great Britain, Mexico, Italy, France, etc.

Sidetracking devices of BS-type hole

Scope and field of application:

Sidetracking devices (BS) are intended for cutting out a window in a casing string and sidetracking in an open hole when arranging the side-tracks of oil and gas wells. Sidetracking tools are intended for cutting of a casing window and sidetracking in the open hole upon construction of lateral holes of oil and gas wells.

Equipment:

Consists of hydraulic anchor, whipstock with hydraulic system, window and under-reaming milling cutters, and auxiliary tools.

Advantages:

• sidetracking is performed without cementing and resting on the

artificial bottom-hole;

• successful design of the milling cutter is distinguished by its wear

resistance and allows obtaining the high milling speed;

• reliable and simple in design, the anchor withstands more than

50 tons of axial load;

• it is completed with the device of holding the whipstock against

Sidetracking process (as per the drawing):

1. The device assembled at the wellhead is lowered into the gaged well to the target depth.

Whipstock chute is oriented by geophysical equipment.

2. The pumping down of the flushing fluid opens out the anchor fixing the whipstock in the casing

string. The screw that connects the milling cutter with the whipstock is cut off by the tension

of the drilling tool.

3. Rotation of the milling cutter cuts the window in the casing string.

4. Sidetrack drilling to the target depth is performed by a drilling bit.

Lease and repair of hydraulic positive displacement motors

Scope and field of application:Downhole motors are used for drilling the vertical and directional oil and gas wells, as well as for

well-workover operations, sidetracking and drilling of horizontal sidetracks. Upon the customer’s re-quest, the downhole motors are equipped with bits, near-bit scrapers, and check valves.

A workshop for hydraulic positive displacement motors overhaul

We carry out process-related maintenance and well workover of downhole motors with di-ameter from 54 mm to 240 mm, for the following manufacturers:

A set of technical aids to mill a “window” in a casing string

Purpose: Effective solutions for milling of “windows” in 140, 146, 168, 178 and 245 mm casing strings and drilling a sidetrack-ing per one tripping run in the form of a set of technical aids for milling the “win-dow” in the casing string, allowing the cutting out of the service openings both with resting on (cement bridging), and without resting on the bottom hole, which significantly reduces the time and costs for well site construction.

Equipment: The set consists of window milling and chambering cutters. The window milling cutter con-tains a flat tip and pumpout plugs, which get sheared off during the milling cutter rotation and open addi-tional holes for the flushing fluid. The distance between the window and the expanding milling cutter ensures optimal modes of milling.

Advantages: The milling cutter is reinforced with a metal ceramic composition and carbide blades on the end part, making it possible to obtain a high milling speed.

Cement stage collar (CSC)

Purpose:

Cement stage collar (CSC) is intended for cementing produc-

tion strings in two (2) stages allowing reducing the hydrostatic

pressure on the lost circulation horizons and providing the re-

quired top of cement in the casing string annulus of the well.

Scope of application:

Vertical, controlled directional sidetrack wells and horizontally

ending well bores.

Main advantages: • as compared with countertypes, a higher-end and reliable circulating aperture opening unit is used; • the closing sleeve fixing device ensures 100% tightness after drilling out of the locking plug and VSC seat; • it is possible to select the shear screws for various values of circulation hole opening pressure; • simple and reliable in application.

The manufacture of CSC with buttress for thread for feasibility of cementing the production string with rotation has been started.

Operational concept (by sketch):

1. The collar is lowered into the well in assembly with the casing string, the stop ring is mounted

on one or several pipes above the string shoe. After injection of the estimated volume of

cement slurry (calculated to raise it to the height of the collar in the casing string annulus),

before the injection of the displacement fluid, displacement plug is engaged.

2. The displacement plug reaches the stop ring and is fixed thereon, thereby ensuring the string

closing leak tightness.

3. After checking the displacement plug fixation and pressure build-up the radial holes in the

CSC coupling open up, through which the surplus of cement is washed out in the casing string

annulus above the CSC. First stage waiting on cement (WOC).

4. After the cement slurry injection (for the second stage of cementing, above the CSC) and before the injection of the displacement fluid, the locking plug is installed. 5. The locking plug reaches the seat of the sleeve (inside the CSC collar), the pressure build-up of the sleeve cuts off the sleeve pins, the sleeve moves downward, thereby closing the radial holes of the CSC collar. Second stage waiting on cement (WOC). 6. After WOC time the plugs, locking and displacement (made of rubber), all the internal elements of the cement stage collar (CSC) and the stop ring (made of aluminum) are drilled with a drilling bit.

Liner hanger

Purpose: The liner hanger is intended for the lowering, installation and fix-ation in the well sidetrack (BS) of cemented or non-cemented liners.The liner hanger is produced in two standard sizes – PH-114 and PH-102 and two modifications – for the cemented liner and 01 for the non-cemented liner.

Hydraulic anchor

Purpose: It is intended to fix the whipstock to the casing string without resting on the bottom hole. The anchor is securely fixed, excluding both axial and tangential shifting due to high values of breakloose loads due to the large working surface.

Equipment: Consists of profiled pipes with length up to 3 m. One meter of the open anchor withstands 50 tons of axial load.

Whipstock

Purpose: It is intended to provide the necessary deviation of the cutting devices from motherbore axis when cutting the “window” in the casing string.

Whipstock is manufactured in 2 versions: • with the device of pressing of the whipstock against the casing (it is applied at small zenith angles); • without the device of pressing of the whipstock against the casing.

Submersible electric centrifugal pumps

Purpose:

Electric submersible centrifugal pumps (ESP) are used to lift formation

fluid, as well as in formation pressure maintenance systems. ECPUs allow the

pumping out of fluid with capacity of 30 to 1250 m3/day, and pump head up

to 3,600 m.

Design:

Pumps, depending on the transverse dimension, are made in three groups:

5, 5А and 6. The group conditionally determines the minimum inside diam-

eter of the production string, this equals to: 5 – 123.7 mm; 5А – 130 mm;

6 – 148.3 mm. The diameter of the pump housing is 92, 103 and 114 mm,

respectively.

The pumps consist of an upper section (with a fishing head for pump

mount to the tubing), middle sections, intake section, and the check and bleed

valves.

Formation fluid characteristics:

• formation fluid is a mixture of oil, associated water and oil-well gas;

• maximum density of the fluid is 1,400 kg/m3;

• maximum kinematic viscosity of a single-phase fluid at which the

pump is operated without changing the pump head and the efficiency

is 1 mm2/s;

• hydrogen index of associated water pH is 6.0-8.5;

• maximum weight concentration of solids for pumps:

- standard make – 0.1 g/L (0.01%);

- corrosion-resistant design – 0.2 g/L (0.02%);

- wear-resistant, corrosion-wear-resistant design – 0.5 g/L (0.05%);

- increased corrosion-wear-resistant design – 1.0 g/L (0.10%);

• microhardness of particles according to the Mohs scale, max points:

- ordinary, corrosion-resistant, corrosion-wear-resistant design – 5;

- increased corrosion-wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant design – 7;

• maximum content of associated water – 99%;

• maximum free gas content at the pump intake is 25%;

• by volume, with the use of a gas separator in assembly with in the unit

– 55%.

• peak concentration of hydrogen sulphide for pumps:

- standard, wear-resistant design – 0.01 g/L (0,001%);

- corrosion-resistant and corrosion-wear-resistant designs, increased

corrosion-wear resistance – 1.25 g/L (0.125%);

• temperature of pumped off fluid up to 90°C (at customer’s request up

to 150°C);

• maximum hydrostatic pressure in the area of installation hanger slips,

Submersible electric motors

Scope and field of application:

Submersible electric motors (SEM) are used as a drive for centrifugal and pro-gressive cavity pumps for pumping off of formation fluid from oil wells.More than fifty nominal sizes of submersible electric motors (SEM) of various power from 12 to 350 kW are produced, which allows selecting the most optimal engine-pump combina-tion to ensure the operation of the unit with the highest possible efficiency.

Design:

Electric motors are in the form of structural design by the mounting configura-tion 1 m 3631 as per GOST 2479. Structural design – single-section, two-section, and three-section. The technology of manufacturing with the use of special ma-terials makes it possible to produce high-heat-resistant motors operating in the formation fluid with a temperature of up to 150°C. After assembly all motors are tested on a special bench with the possibility of creating loads on the mo-tor shaft and taking all necessary readings. Start, operation control of the electric motor and its protection in emergency modes are carried out by control stations. Protection against formation fluid pen-etration into the internal cav-ity of the electric motor, compensation of oil leakage and thermal changes in its volume when operating and during shutdown, torque transmission from the motor shaft to the pump shaft is carried out by a protector or hydroprotection with appropriate overall and connecting dimensions and technical features.

Complete set:

At the request of the customer, it is possible to complete the telemetry system

of sub-mersible electric motors allowing to obtain real-time data on the installa-

tion operation and the conditions of the well in the mount area of the installation,

timely shut down the installation when the limit parameters are exceeded. The

signals from the submersible block of the telemetry system to the control station

are transmitted via the power supply cable of the electric motor. The submersible block of the telemetry system is taken out and docked to the bottom of the electric motor, measures and converts into electrical signals the fol-lowing parameters:

• wellbore pressure at the level of the electric motor mount;

• temperature of the pumped medium;

• oil pressure in the electric motor;

• temperature in the cavity of electric motor;

• magnitude of the pumping unit vibration.

EDSS submersible low speed electric motor developed by LLC UK “System-Service” for progressive cavity pumps

Purpose:EDSS motor is designed for continuous 50 Hz AC mains fed operation and control stations with frequency converters ranging from 20 Hz to 80 Hz as a drive for submersible progressive cavity pumps to pump formation fluid out of oil wells.

Application scope: • Low and medium flow rate well stock; • Complicated wells with high viscosity oil and

oil-water emulsion, mechanical impurities, etc.;

• Wells where the use of sucker-rod pumps is limited by the well dogleg and setting depth;

• If a sucker-rod pumping unit foundation cannot be installed.

Advantages: • Optimal frequency — from 50 to 480 rpm; • Standard control stations are used for

Purpose:

Hydroprotections are intended to prevent the formation fluid from en-tering the internal cavity of the submerged oil-filled electric motor and to compensate oil leaks and thermal changes when operating and during shutdown of the electric motor. The hydroprotection is installed between the intake section (or gas separator) and the submersible electric motor.

Design features:

• hydroprotections are designed as monoblock;

• any type of hydroprotection can be of corrosion-resistant design (K);

• any type of hydroprotection can be of heat-resistant (T) and

high-temperature resistant design (T1) capable of working at

formation temperature up to 120°C and 150°C, respectively;

• application of end seals in hydraulic protections of leading inland and

foreign manufacturers;

• equipping with bypass check valves ensuring the internal excess

pressure relief and removal of free gas phase from the oil cavity of

the SEM during operation of the ECPU in the well;

• execution of shafts of stainless steel to improve corrosion resistance.

Gas separators

Purpose:

Gas separators are intended to reduce the free gas volumetric content in

the formation fluid pumped out by the submersible electric centrifugal pumps

of ECPU type to the permissible value.

Application:

The gas separator is installed in place of the pump intake section, or after the intake section with the gas separator designed without an intake screen, and performs the function of separating most of the free gas from the gas-liquid mixture and directing it into the bore hole annulus. Design:

Gas separators are manufactured in corrosion-wear-resistant design. In the design of gas separators, the friction couples of radial bearings are made of hard alloy. The centerline support is made of ceramics. Protection of the housing against hydroabrasive wear is ensured by a protection sleeve made of corrosion-resistant steel. Gas separator parts are made of corrosion-resistant steel and “Ni-resist” cast iron with increased corrosion resistance and wear resistance with hardness up to 190-240 HB.

Horizontal pumping units (HPU)

We manufacture, carry out repair and overhaul, testing and maintenance of horizontal pumping

units (HPU).

Scope and field of application:

Horizontal pumping units are intended to inject the fresh, formation and waste waters into oil for-

mations in order to maintain the formation pressure.

Purpose of the main HPU assemblies:

The electric motor is intended to create torque, serves as a pump drive.

The intensifier serves to increase the pump shaft speed and distribute the torque between pump sec-

tions in parallel operation thereof.

The thrust chamber is intended for center-line unloading of the pumping unit from pumped fluid

pressure.

The centrifugal pump of ECP type is an energy machinery in which mechanical energy is converted

into the hydraulic energy of the pumped fluid. The pump section is connected by the base to the flange

of the suction chamber through which the pumped fluid enters.

The cooling system prevents the heating and early wear of the bearing assemblies of the thrust

chamber and the Intensifier.

The frame is designed as a base on which the attaching point of the components of HPU and pro-

tective-enclosing casings of collars are located.

Requirements to composition of the pumped fluid:

• maximum mineralization up to 250,000 mg/L;

• hydrogen index 5.4-7.5 рН;

• content of dissolved gases:

H2S – not more than 270 mg/L,

CO2 – not more than 300 mg/L; oil – not more than 200 mg/L;

• weight concentration of solids – up to 50 mg/L with a size up to 200 μm.

• water density from 1.00 to 1.18 mg/cm3 with a temperature of + 5°C to + 80°C.

HPU modification

Horizontal pumping units (HPU) for providing the required characteristics are made in several

modifica-tions, each of which has different standard makes, differing by the number of stages in the

section and the number of sections in the installation. Modifications of installations differ from the main

one by additional units and assemblies: intensifier, cooling system for thrust chamber bearings and the

intensifier.

Types of HPU:

• single-section;

• single-section with Intensifier and cooling system of the thrust chamber and multiplier;

• two-section with Intensifier and cooling system of the thrust chamber and Intensifier;

• one-section and two-section with a frequency converter (hereinafter referred to as FC, which

serves to ex-pand the ranges of operating modes and regulate head and rate specifications

of HPU)

The use of the frequency converter ensures:

• regulation of head and rate specifications (on account of frequency correction);

• safe smooth start-up and stopping of the pumping unit;

• protects the electric motor against current overloads;

• allows excluding the possibility of occurrence of sharp impact mechanical loads on the shaft

and thrust chamber of the pump;

• mitigates the shortcomings of the mains power supply of process units;

• reduces energy costs by maintaining the pumping unit operation in the area of maximum

efficiency (due to the fact that the system itself selects the required motor speed of rotation of

the pumping unit to ensure the target discharge pressure).

Modular cluster pumping stations (MCPS) We offer a full range of works on manufacture of modular cluster pumping stations (MCPS): starting with the development of technical specifications, design documentation and finishing with the commis-sioning works at Customer’s site. The MCPS is a ready-made facility for the RPM system, which does not require the construction of a capital construction of CPS.

Equipment:

The MCPS building is a pre-fabricated assembly consisting of several separate container blocks, each

of which is supplied complete with internally mounted equipment. The walls of the block-container rep-

resent the sandwich panels with insulation made of non-combustible material. The building is equipped

with artificial lighting, monorail hoist, automatic heating systems and suction-and-exhaust ventilation,

interlocked with gas analyzer, and automatic powder fire extinguishing system.

The MCPS consists of two compartments: processing and apparatus.

The processing compartment contains HPUs mounted on the rigid frame base of the container block

and fitted with supply and pressure pipelines.

The fittings of the supply pipeline consist of gate valve, flowmeter, transitions, laterals, flanges, and coarse and fine filters. The fittings of the injection pipeline include the check and gate valve (motor operated valve). The apparatus compartment contains the control stations with a frequency converter, or with a soft starter.

After the installation of MCPS on the base, we perform the commissioning works, which in-clude:

• hydraulic piping of MCPS;

• electrical fitting of MCPS;

• adjustment of control station;

• adjustment of instrumentation and controls of MCPS;

• start of HPU, process stabilization and control over the operation of HPU;

• intermediate maintenance of equipment;

• training of personnel and consulting of specialty crewmen on equipment operation.

• possibility of reinstallation to other sites;

• wide range of head and rate specifications;

LLC “System-Service” MC is currently manufacturing more than 700 industrial rubber articles (IRA),

Control stations for electric plunger pump units (EPPU) Purpose and field of application:The EPPU control stations are designed for control and protection of submersible electric centrifugal pump units based on the RUMB microprocessor controller having a developed user interface.

It provides:• Automatic and manual control of a submersible electric motor.

The operator manually controls the station right from the remote controller. The automatic mode provides the option of the control station autoreclosing after a tripping event, if the protection is compatible with automatic recloser, and a timer mode (a set time program).

We carry out selection of equipment for dual operation (DO), supply, lease of equipment and engi-neering support during the implementation of DO installations. Implementation of DO installations is performed since 2005. To date, more than 1,000 DO installations have been implemented at in the fields of PJSC Tatneft, small oil companies of the Re-public of Tatarstan and Russian oil companies.

DO installation designs

Scope and field of application: DO installations are used for oil production and are designed for dual operation of two or more formations by a single well.

Application: • wells having in the opened section significant differences in reservoir properties and oil characteristics; • flooded wells at large pressure differences between formations; • for connection with already exploited production level of a low-productive formation, the exploitation of which by an individual well is unprofitable; • wells with a large distance in depth between the objects.

Process efficiency: • rise in profitability of individual wells due to the connection of other development objects or differing in properties formations of a single development site; • reduction of the scope of drilling due to the use of a single well bore and organization of simultaneous (joint) hydrocarbon reserve production from different development objects with a single well network.

Advantages: • increase of the oil recovery factor and well capacity due to the additional involvement in the development of low-permeability interlayers; • increase in multilayer field areal sweep efficiency and intensity of development through separate involvement in the development of individual thin, multi-permeable layers-interlayers; • reduction of capital investments for drilling; • intensification of the process of regulation of offtake and injection in time and upon bore log; • increase of profitability period of field development; • reduction of operating costs; • efficiency of oil field formation pressure control, regulation of the direction and filtration rate of formation fluids.

Downhole fluid pumping units

Purpose: Installations for downhole water pumping enable pumping of the formation water from a water

producing formation into the productive one to maintain the formation pressure of the oil-bearing formation. Designs of installations for the downhole pumping:

• single tubing installation –146 (168)- НВ — for downhole pumping of groundwater from the lower formation to the upper;

• double tubing installation –146 (168)-2-НВ — for downhole pumping of groundwater from the lower formation to the upper;

• single tubing installation –146 (168)- ВН — for downhole pumping of groundwater from the up-per formation to the lower;

Advantages:• allows to maintain the formation pressure in small areas in the absence of the water injection

system or if it is located at a great distance;

• allows to save money on drilling;

• no need to install a ground-based pumping equipment, and ground communications; • enables the pumping of the formation water from the water-bearing formation in the formation under development.

Operating limitations: • nominal diameter of the production casing is at least 146 (168) mm;

• at least two formations in the well, i.e. water-bearing and oil-bearing;

• distance between the formations is at least three meters;

• the integrity of the production casing and the absence of hydrodynamic connection between the formations;

• drift angle less than 2° at 10 m;

• no contractions in the inner diameter of the production string in the form of cement crusts, packers in the interval of the alleged chute of the underground part of the installation.

Double-action pumping system with discharge of a part of associated water to the intake formation

Purpose: The double-action pumping system (DAPS) is intended to increase the efficiency of operation of highly-watered oil wells by providing a downhole separation of formation fluid to oil and water, rais-ing low-watered oil to the wellhead and injecting the major portion of the associated water into the intake formation without the recovery to the sur-face.

Scope of application: Highly watered oil wells with ECPU, which pen-etrated the upstream (in relation to the produc-tive) intake formation suitable for injecting the as-sociated water.

Operating limits:

Top-driven installation for the system of formation pressure mainte-nance (FPM) of VCPU (vertical centrifugal pumping unit) type

Purpose: The centrifugal vertical pumping unit (CVPU) is intended to inject the fresh, formation and oil field waters to the oil formation in order to maintain the formation pressure and pumping-over the fluid at the booster pumping stations.

Advantages of CVPU: • long-term service; • simple in installation and operation – the

installation does not require a special facility for its installation; • possibility of selecting the pressure head and

Capillar systems of feeding chemical agents into the wellbore

Scope and field of application:

Capillary systems for feeding the chemical agents are

intended for dosing the agent into oil-, water- and gas-

producing wells for the purpose of preventing the deposits

of paraffins and inorganic salts, corrosive activity reduc-

tion for extracted product, stable emulsion breaking. The

reagent through the capillary pipeline fixed on the tubing

external surface is fed to the required interval of the well

(see the diagram).

Equipment:

The capillary system for feeding the chemical reagents

consists of the superstructure and wellbore parts:

Scope of application:

Cables are intended for fixed connection to electrical devices, apparatuses, terminal blocks of elec-trical switchgears with the rated AC voltage of up to 660 V and the frequency of up to 100 Hz or DC voltage of up to 1,000 V.Cables are used for routing in the open air, in rooms, channels, tunnels, under conditions of an ag-gressive environment, in the absence of mechanical influences on the cables. It is allowed to route the cables in the ground (trenches) when ensuring the protection of cables in places where they break the surface. Cables do not cause inflammation in case of with a single routing (norms of GOST 1217689). Type of climatic version of cables is UHL, allocation categories 1 and 5 according to GOST 15150-69.
