Assistance for Affected Workers

The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah notes that there has been an outpouring of support from the Filipino community for stranded OFWs At the same time OWWA has appropriated funds both for the distribution of financial assistance and goodsfoodstuff to the affected workers

In order to harmonize efforts of the community and ensure that a workers requiring immediate assistance are given help groups and individuals intending to give relief assistance are requested to coordinate with the Consulate General through the following

bull FILCOM groups who wish to provide relief assistance to the affected workers and directly visit their project camps may coordinate with the Consulate General to inform which camp they wi go to for monitoring purposes

bull They may coordinate with the Consulate General to find out which project camps still need further assistance

bull Individuals and groups may provide donations (in-kind donations are preferred) through the Consulate The donations wi be properly accounted and an acknowledgment of receipt will be given to the donors

bull FILCOM groups are also encouraged to contact the Consulate General to identify stranded workers who have not yet been accounted for including those whose companies are not listed in OWWA Memorandum of Instruction 008 Series of 2016 but are similarly situated Enclosed are the companies projects and camps with the deSignated coordinators which have so far been accounted
