Bob Torkelson, March mine, came in office and said he shipped a truckload to Excell Minerals; no return yet. GWl WR 5/20/75

I drove to the Swisshelm Mts. and examined the March mine. There has been no recent activity in this area. VBD WR 1/27/76

Mine visit - March mine. GWI WR 10/8/76

MG WR 9/30/83: Two truckloads of hand sorted galena ore from the March mine, Cochise County were shipped in 1981 to ASARCO at El Paso. The smelter reportedly paid for 47 oz/ton silver in one truck and 48 oz/ton silver in another.

MG WR 1/17/86: Mr. S.J.J. "Jiggs" Murphy of Sunizona, phone 824-3349, or to leave message, 824-3652, reports that three different geophysical surveys and core drilling were done on the March Property (Cochise Co) in 1984-85. The core reportedly contains ore but it has not been assayed.

J. F. Rybom, Box 137, Elfrida, reported that the March Mine closed down some time ago. Mr. bydbom stated that he might be interested in applying for a lead­zinc subsidy. He was furnished with application blanks for this purpose. ALJ WR 9-15-62.

Present Mining Activity: Kine was closed dO"frm in April. Mr. Rydbom is now working at the Chance mine repairing some of the timbers in the vertical sha.ft.

Proposed Plans: :Hr. Rydbom said that he might be interested in applying for a lead­zinc subsidy and the engineer gave him information and application blanks on same. If he applies for the subsidy and it is approved by the General Services Administration then he will resume mining operations at the March mine.

Subject: Field Engineers Report. Informa tion from J. F. Rydbom.

i~ ~8 Location: In the Swisshelm Nountains. Sec. -:39- - T -39- S - R 28 E. A short distance NW of the Chance & Scribner Mines.

Number of Claims: 3 unpatented. claims, located in March, 1957.

Owner & Operator: 'J. F. Rydbom, Box 137, Elfrida, Ariz.

Principal Minerals: Lead, Silver and Gold.

Present Mining Activity: Mining ore and shipping to the A.S. & R. smelter at El Paso, Texas. 3 men working. Production 20 to 30 tons per month.

Geology & Mineralization: Limestone replacements in the bedding planes of the limestone.

Ore Values: Operator wou.ld not disclose the shipment returns, except to state that it was high grade lead ore, with a maximum of 19 oz. of silver to the ton.

Ore In Sight & Probable: No appreciable amount of ore in sight, as the operator stopes out the ore as he goes down on the bedding plane in the limestone.

Milling & Marketing: Direct shipments to smelter.

Past History & Production: No past history or production.

Old Mine Workings: No old mine workings.

New Mine Workings: Shaft being sunk at a steep angle (about 800 ) on the limestone beddL~g plane is now down to d.epthof 70 ft.

Review of Recent Operations: Operator reports that, since he started stoping one last April, he has shipped 3 carloads of ore to the A.S. & R. smelter at EI Paso. The ore is hoisted up the incline shaft, and the ore cars are then lowered by a cable car arrangement down a steep hill to the ore bin near the bottom.

Proposed Plans: Operator plans to s ink the shaft an additional 50 ft., and then drift SE towards the ore bin. If the ore continues, he will break through to the surface just ab~.e the ore bin.
