Custom Ore Lee Boyer stated thst Mary West would like to mill custom ore. This, he states would be done on a cooperative pasis. He, however, specifies that the mill heads must be sulfide ore principally; but that a small amount of oxide ores in the mill heads would be treated by means ot sul£idizing agents. The .lI:i.1I charge would vary from $ 3.,0 to $ 8.00 per ton of crude ore delivered, depending on the grade of the ore. This charge would be deducted from the amel ter returns, as they are reci ved by the operator.
Proposed Plans Mr. Boyer stated tbat they expect to lI:i.il custom ore:b% from the Mineral. HIll District, near Superior shortly) and also that they would like to mill the ore from the Control Mine, 23 miles south of Oracle, tor arty operator, who is interested in operating same.

3 C Ranch Mill - Page 1 ~ 2
Progress Mill construction was started about April 15th. Mill is about two thirds completed, and is scheduled to be ready for operation in about six weeks, or about September 1st.
Source of the Ore A large pegmatite vein, containing mica, feldspar, and quartz, is reported to be £ound on Mary West's property.
Mill Operation
It was reported to have been examined by Chuck Dunning, Phoenix, as regards to quality and size. Also some copper, lead, gold and silver is reported to be found on some of Mary West I s mining claims in the area. She is reported as holding about 400 mining claims in the area.
Mill was originally designed to separate the mica, feldspar and quartz from a pegmatite vein. Flow sheet for this was designed by the Denver Equipment Co., Denver, Colo. Similar mills are in operation in N. Car. and other places. Flow sheet is similar to the one described in Deco Trefoil Bu1 M$ - B80 (Denver Equiment Co.) The ore is ground to minus 35 mesh by means of a jaw crusher, a set of rolls and a rod mill. It is then run through a vibrating screen and a classilier, and then to 4 banks of notation cells (28 cells in all), where selective flotation will be used by means of acid reagents, including hydro-fluoric acid. The mica obtained will be reground to sizes meeting the specifications of the purchasers - some 50 mesh, some 100 mesh, and some up to 300 mesh. Mica is reported to be used by paint compaines to mix in paints, by lubrication and oil companies as a _ lubricant, and for an ingredient added to plastics. Quartz is used by gasolene refinieries as a catalytic agent in refining gasolene and as a nux by metallurgical industries. Feldspars are used by the glass makers and the ceramic industry. Some changes and additions were made to the original design for the milling of lead, copper, gold and silver ores found on Mrs. Mary West I s claims.
