1. US ends ties with World Health Organization
▪ The US President said that the US will reallocate this fund earmarked for the World Health
Organization (WHO) to meet global public health needs, along with other urgent needs around the
world.
2. Australia expresses 'strong support' for India's NSG membership.
▪ Australia recently strongly supported India's membership in the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).
The two sides reiterated their commitment to continue bilateral civil nuclear cooperation and to
further strengthen global nuclear non-proliferation.
▪ Australia also supported the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) strategic partnership with India.
Australia wants to work to build a stronger relationship between India and the IEA community.
The two countries will also continue to cooperate on energy security, climate change, and other
issues of importance.
3. India gave US $ 15 million to International Vaccine Alliance.
▪ The summit held online was attended by business leaders, UK agencies, civil society, government
ministers from more than fifty countries. The summit, which took place amidst the worldwide
corona epidemic, was hosted by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
▪ The main objective of this summit is to raise $ 7.4 billion for the International Vaccine Alliance
(GAVI) and protect the coming generations through vaccines. On behalf of India, Prime Minister

4. Pakistan has highest inflation in the world in 2020: SBP report

5. New Zealand freed from corona virus
▪ New Zealand has been able to beat the corona virus and is completely corona free. On 08 June
2020, the country's last corona virus patient was declared free of infection and there is no active
case in New Zealand now.
▪ There were 1154 cases of corona virus in New Zealand with a population of about 5 million. There

China. It consists of 18 Members of Parliament (MPs) from Europe, Britain, United States and
some other countries.
▪ Announcing the formation of this alliance, US Senator Marco Rubio stated in a video message
that China is becoming a global challenge under the rule of the Chinese Communist Party. The
IPAC coalition believes that China's economic rise is systematically putting severe pressure on a
global, rules-based system.
9. This annual solar eclipse that falls on 21 June can be seen in many parts of Africa. In Africa, it can

10. United Arab Emirates will launch its Mars mission for the first time

11. Nepal amends citizenship law
▪ Nepal's parliamentary panel has recently proposed to amend the Citizenship Act of the country.
The proposal to amend Nepal's citizenship law has come in the country's parliament, according to
which, now the daughter of India or any other country will have to wait for seven years for
citizenship even after becoming the daughter-in-law of Nepal.
▪ Nepal's main opposition parties have criticized the move. They say that this will cause trouble to
the people living in Madhesh because marriages across the border are valid there. The Nepali
Congress (NC) and Janata Samajwadi Party (SJP) have said that such provisions can also affect
Nepal's relations with India from where long livelihood and marriage ties have been for a long

13. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh joins Victory Day Parade in Russia
▪ Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh participated in the parade of Russia's 75th Victory Day on

World War II.

▪ America has rejected Pakistan's attempt to prosecute an Indian citizen as a global terrorist by the
1267 Sanctions Committee of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

after which the United States stopped and abolished Pakistan's proposal, which caused a major
setback to Pakistan.
16. Iran will establish its permanent military base in the Indian Ocean
▪ The announcement was made by Rear Admiral Alirza Tangsiri, Navy Commander of IRGC. The
Navy commander stated that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic,
has tasked the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to establish a permanent base in waters far from
their country.
17. Pakistan signs US $ 2.4 billion agreement with China for hydro power project at POK

1. Big announcement of Election Commission, polling on 24 seats of Rajya Sabha on June 19
▪ On 01 June 2020, the Election Commission decided to hold elections on six seats in Arunachal
Pradesh, Karnataka and Mizoram along with these seats. Of these, four Rajya Sabha members
from Karnataka are retiring on June 25, while the tenure of one member of Arunachal Pradesh
will be completed on June 23.
▪ The Election Commission took this decision in view of the situation caused by Corona.
2. One Nation One Card Scheme: Three more states included to help migrants
▪ This scheme will benefit those ration card holders who work in other states. Ration card holders
will be able to buy grain at a lower price from government ration shops in any part of the country.
Due to the One Nation One Ration Card Scheme of the Central Government, ration can also be
taken from any other state apart from the original state.
▪ According to the Finance Minister, those who do not have ration card or no card will also be given
ration help. This will benefit eight crore migrant laborers. It will cost 3500 crores rupees. It will
be made effective through state governments. This process will continue for the next two months.
3. Central government increases minimum support price on 14 kharif crops
▪ Union Cabinet approved increase in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 14 kharif crops on 01 June
2020. With this step of the government, farmers will get 50-83 percent more money than the cost
of their crop.
4. Under the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, the Central Government will provide a special credit
facility of Rs 5000 crore for street vendors.
▪ Under the Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, Center will provide special credit facility of Rs 5000
crore for street vendors. The scheme is expected to benefit 5 million street vendors, hawkers, small
shops owners and those who sell goods on hand.

5. Government will give credit card to 1.5 crore dairy farmers
▪ This decision will ensure more loan availability for the dairy farmers associated with various milk
unions of the country as well as assuring the repayment of loans of banks. Farmers who already
have Kisan Credit Cards on the basis of land ownership will be able to increase their credit limit.
However, interest rebate will be available only up to Rs 3 lakh.

of Kolkata port, Prime Minister Modi announced the renaming of Kolkata port in the name of Shyama

9. Union Power Minister launches All India Real Time Market in electricity

16. ICMR recommends the use of rapid antigen kits for testing

8th time on 17 June 2020. Now India has become a temporary member of this apex institution for
the year 2021-22. After securing 184 votes in the 193-member General Assembly, India was
elected as a temporary member of the UN Security Council for a two-year term.
▪ Along with India, Ireland, Mexico and Norway also won the Security Council elections held on
17 June 2020. India was a candidate for a temporary seat from the Asia Pacific category for the
term 2021-22.
23. India to become President of Security Council in August 2021
▪ India, elected as a provisional member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), will
assume the responsibility of the post of President of a powerful 15-nation council in August 2021.
Each member country in turn presides over the council for one month.
▪ India will preside over the council in August next year, according to information released from
the UN spokesperson's office. After this, India will become the President of the Council for one
month in 2022. With the support of tremendous support in the election of the Security Council of
India, its temporary member has been elected for two years.
24. India-China dispute: Violent clashes between Indo-Chinese troops near Galvan Valley

elephants contemporary to dinosaurs.
▪ The census of wildlife in the Shivalik forest area under Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh is

26. Lord Jagannath's Rath Yatra started in Puri after Supreme Court approval

30. Major decision of Government of India, ban on 59 Chinese apps including Tiktok
▪ According to the Ministry of Electronics and IT, these apps have been banned for being 'harmful
to India's sovereignty and unity, security and order'. The central government has said that these
apps will also not be used in mobile and non-mobile based internet devices.
▪ It was argued that China can hack Indian data. According to the order issued by the government,
the government has banned those 59 mobile apps.

31. India and Bhutan sign agreement for joint venture hydroelectric project

1. Central Government's big decision, now all co-operative banks under RBI supervision
▪ Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that with the coming of cooperative banks under RBI, the

scheduled banks, the same will apply to cooperative banks. He said that there are 1482 urban
cooperative banks and 58 multi-state cooperative banks in the country.
2. Per capita income to decrease after corona: SBI report
▪ According to a report by the State Bank of India (SBI), the per capita income has dropped by 5.4
percent due to the lockdown. After the Corona virus epidemic, the income gap of people in various
