2) Enter the lug to its full depth.

3) Turn the lug through 900.

4) The lug is now locked in its lifting position.

INTRODUCTIONProducts of Columbus McKinnon Corporation Limitedhave been built in accordance with the state-of-the-artand generally accepted engineering standards.Nonetheless, incorrect handling when using theproducts may cause dangers to life and limb of the useror third parties and/or damage to the hoist or otherproperty.

The operating company is responsible for the properand professional instruction of the operating personnel.For this purpose, all operators must read theseoperating instructions carefully prior to the initialoperation.

These operating instructions are intended to acquaintthe user with the product and enable him to use it tothe full extent of its intended capabilities. The operatinginstructions contain important information on how tooperate the product in a safe, correct and economicway. Acting in accordance with these instructions helpsto avoid dangers, reduce repair costs and downtimesand to increase the reliability and lifetime of theproduct.

The operating instructions must always be available atthe place where the product is operated. Apart fromthe operating instructions and the accident preventionact valid for the respective country and area where theproduct is used, the commonly accepted regulations forsafe and professional work must also be adhered to.

GBThe working load limit per set of 4 lugs is 32 tonnes at a maximum angle ofinclination of 500 from vertical. The working load limit is 40 tonnes at maximumangle of inclination of 360 from vertical. The working load limit is 50 tonneswhen used vertically.

Check the marking on the lug. Each lug will be stamped with the maximumload and the angle of working for the set.

The degree of inclination permits the lifting of all but the largest containerswith a simple beam.

These lugs cannot drop out when the slings become slack.

Lugs are handed left and right -• Left hand lugs are marked with an ‘L’• Right hand lugs are marked with an ‘R’
