    Terms:

    Ben-day Dotsprinting process, named after illustrator and printer BenjaminDay, is similar to Pointillism. Depending on the effect, color and opticalillusion needed, small colored dots are closely-spaced, widely-spaced oroverlapping. Magenta dots, for example, are widely-spaced to create pink.

    1950s and 1960s pulp comic books used Benday dots in the four processcolors (cyan, magenta, yellow and black) to inexpensively create shadingand secondary colors such as green, purple, orange and flesh tones.

    You may hand in extra credit in the form of a paper, project, etc. It

    does not guarantee you will go up a whole grade, but can assist in

    changing from a B+ to an A-, etc. Remember, 10% of your grade is

    based upon your participation in class as well, so that will be a factor.

    It is due on the last day of class (December 15).

    I am available most of the weekend, and Monday through Wednesday
