Security within the NetworkAll Focused Cargo Network members’ payment habits are monitored on a regular basis and the network administration keeps all of its members informed of all payment irregularities.

Upon successful application of a member, the company will be eligible to access a credit-risk mitigated business environment.The payment security program covers for bad debt of network shipments and the coverage increases as the company stays with the network.

When joining the group, companies that have

screening process. The screening process will touch

Globalization has offered everyone to buy and sell goods from

anywhere in the world, offering manufacturers the possibility in

producing on global scale. With an ever-growing global economy,

businesses continue to participate in the global market and forwarders

are asked to serve from practically anywhere.

With the trend of Globalization economic values change everyday,

trading will continue to introduce new partners, with greater origins

and greater destinations, turning trade into a web of more equally

distributed participants.

The main challenge of a forwarder is to being able to offer customers a global solutions for all their logistics needs, competing with already established multinational forwarders with centrally owned network of freight forwarding companies. Although independent forwarders have a slightly bigger cut of the global freight market, multinational are overtaking unprepared independents year by year.

Network Agreement

Focused Cargo Network members maintain a professional working relationship amongst each other by adhering to the Network Ethics and Guide.

• To pay all monies due members in a timely manner (standard: within 30 days, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing)

• To be active in sales endeavors for mutual growth

• To attend annual conferences of the alliance to ensure activeness of members within the organization

• To respect other members’ existing customer bases and refrain from back selling

• To reflect the true cost of all rates quoted from Focused Cargo Network Member to Focused Cargo Network Member for

common markup and profit sharing, should the cost change (even during shipment) the Focused Cargo Network agent

partner/s must update accordingly. Overcharging is considered unethical within the Focused Cargo Network and

Focused Cargo Network reserves the right to expel members with unethical practices.

• To provide bona fide sales leads when possible

• To be properly staffed for the highest level of service

• To operate in accordance with all stated shipping advice

• To promptly respond to all communications (standard: within 24 hours)

• To quote rates in full detail in a timely manner

• To share freight profits 50/50, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing

• To seek the help of Focused Cargo Network administration for dispute resolution.

Payment Protection Guide

The live payment monitoring system allows our Focused Cargo Network Secretariat to capture any late-payment incidences and inform the network of any irregularities. All members are sent a monthly PDF of the Network Security Agency list which highlights the updated status of every member.

By having this system in place we are able to vastly reduce the networks, exposure to wrong intended forwarders and keep our striving community of forwarders going.

• Prior to transacting with network members, please verify from the network agency list that your partners are in good standing.• Agent to submit statement of account (AR/AP) within the first 10 days of each month.• Send pre-alerts (HAWB, MAWB, and Billing) within 14 days of shipment.• Members must be updated with membership payables.• Agent must pass the screening process of the network.• Agents must file a late-payment-report within 60 days of transaction.• Only network members are eligible for security claims. Expired member status is not entitled to submit claims to the network.• The network security blanket covers for invoices within a maximum of 60 days before the claim date and does not provide coverage for shipments with payment terms of more than 30 days.• Immediate dispute protection is covered to USD 5,000 per member, and will increase to USD10,000 once you are 3 years with the network. Dispute protection is covered to a maximum amount of USD 20,000 for members that are 5 years and above with the network with a self participation of 10% claimed amount.• The lower coverage of two transacting agents is considered for claiming purposes.• The network Security Coverage is limited to general cargo and specifically not covering dangerous goods, perishable cargo, personal effect and collect cargo beyond USD 2,000.00. In addition security coverage is not provided for non-conformance with service levels, shippers/consignees connected with Internet mail services such as E-Bay, lost or damaged cargo, invoices covered by member’s Errors and Omissions Insurance or other insurance coverage,3rd party damages, currency exchange fluctuations, goodwill payments, illegal transactions, legal fees or interests.• Any single transaction/invoice beyond USD10, 000 is not eligible for claim• Security coverage is only granted to members that have attended latest conferences. The network reserves the right to refuse any claims from members who have not attended the last conference.• Only invoices relating to the offices/cities that are registered will be eligible to participate in this fund i.e. if a company only registers its Hong Kong office but has several other offices in China, only invoices covering freight originating from/destined to their Hong Kong office will be considered as eligible.• The network does not cover for disputes caused by service errors.• The network only covers for freight charges.• The network reserves the right to update the above terms at any time.• For payment issues that have been resolved, the payer will undergo a 60-day probationary period, for purpose of payment monitoring. The Network Management has the right to downgrade payment status of members with payment issues. This is to ensure that the entire Network is kept safe.
