Standard of highest flexibilityDue to their modular design the slip rings of the standard series MIA offer the highest level of flexibility for the transmission of electrical power, signals, bus systems for many demanding rotating applications. This series is rounded off by an additional option range of media rotary joints for air, water and oil.
Modular designTwo basic units and 13 different modules allow for many of combinations.The modules can be selected from a table and used in any combination to meet your requirements. One slip ring system allows the transmission up to 102 rings. The housing length of the slip ring system is defined by the number and type of modules stacked. A free inner bore allows the integration of a range of media rotary joints to be combined.

Our gold-wire technology guarantees excellent power, signal and data transmission, long service lives and compact slip ring designs. Gold-wire brushes slide on gold-plat-ed contact bands with precisely defined V-grooves.

MIA 13
The MIA 1 stands out due to its compact design.By using our gold-wire technology, very small installation dimensions can be achieved. Because this slip ring is typically used to control actuators and valve clusters, the op-erating voltage is optimized to 250 V AC. The slip ring has an 8 mm free inner bore and a G 1/4” thread for the mounting of cost-effective single-channel media rotary joints or Gigabit components. 2- and 4-channel air and media rotary joints or power component are optional. There are two housing lengths available depending on the numbers of modules.

The MIA 2 can solve nearly any problem: From 4 to 102 rings and up to 630 VAC.Due to the large number of different modules, the slip ring can be used in a wide range of applications, such as rotary transfer machines and machine tools with their wide range of functions, for example power transmission, sensors und data buses.Different bus data formats can be transmitted in parallel.To keep the dimensions as small as possible, SCHLEIFRING designed four different lengths for ease of assembly, even under extremely tight installation conditions. The slip ring has a 13 mm free inner bore and a G ½” thread for mounting competitive single-channel media rotary joints or Gigabit components. 2- and 4-channel air and media rotary joints or power component are optional. There are four housing lengths available depending on the numbers of modules.

Power Component
If higher power is required, for example for powerful drive motors, then the power component will help – whether as an independent unit or in conjunction with the other components of the MIA series to round off a complete and powerful transmis-sion system.
The power component can be connected to the other components via an adapter, Cables of the units MIA 1 or MIA 2 as well as all other additional components can be routed through the inner diameter of 53 mm.

The Gigabit component creates a new dimension in contacting data transmission.Whereas 100 MBit used to be the end of the road for secure data transmission, no-wadays data buses such as Gigabit Ethernet with Bit Error Rates of better than 10-9
are possible. This can be achieved without any active electronics or modulation of the signal. That means no adaption, set up, customizing or special ESD handling needed – simply plug and play.
This device is available as an independent unit or coupled to MIA 1, MIA 2 or a power unit.
