Highlight of last quarter of 2017 was “Mother Day” celebration, a

mega event which brought smile on thousands of faces and in

sports, “Volley competition” helped in further strengthening the

teamwork among employees.

2017 ended on a good note as Eratex got various awards for its

excellence in multiple fields.

Healthy Walking on “Mother Day” In 2017, Indonesia celebrated “Mother Day” on 22nd December. Eratex has also been

celebrating this day since last many years as 90% of our employee are proud mothers. The

HER project team along with Women committee of Eratex always try to spread health

awareness through these events and therefore they organized a “Healthy walking

program” for employees and their families on Sunday,17th December 2017. 11,500 employees

and their families participated in a walk of 4.5 km starting from factory gate by 5.30 am to the

surrounding areas of city. Besides healthy walking, participants were also entertained with

healthy food bazaar competition, aerobics competition, carnival competition & other fun

activities. The event ended with various prizes to lucky draw winners. First prize winner got 40”

LED TV.

Sport events in Eratex are one of the most favorite events among employees. In order to build

teamwork spirit and to keep employees healthy, Eratex plans at least one sports event in

every quarter. Last quarter volleyball competition was organized in the factory campus.

Competition started in October 2017 and completed in December 2017 as matches were

scheduled on Sundays & holidays to ensure all can participate. Both female and male teams

from various departments enthusiastically participated in this event. Trophy and awards were

As per survey of Indonesian health ministry, the cases of cervical cancer are on rise in the

country. An early detection of this disease can significantly help in full recovery. In 2015, Eratex

was one of the first Companies in East Java, Indonesia to start checking cervical and breast

cancer for its female workers with the support of BPJS (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial-

Sosial Insurance Department. Since then, every year a pap smear program is organized for

Eratex employee.

Similarly in 2017 also Eratex Women Committee and HER project committee, with the support

of Probolinggo BPJS organized a pap smear program on 30 Oct- 09 Nov in Lanoostic

laboratorium, Probolinggo. During this event the Pap smear test was conducted on 202 married

female employees and it was pleasant to know that no employee was diagnosed with positive

sign of cervical cancer.

Conducting fire evacuation drills and first aid trainings is an important exercise in Eratex. In last

quarter, fire and evacuation drill was conducted for day and night shift operations in plants on

29th December 2017. The timing of complete evacuation from the building was less than 2

minutes which is a satisfactory performance from safety point of view. Besides, a

demonstration was also given on various first aid techniques on how to handle the

emergencies

Primaniyarta award is one of the most prestigious category of award in Indonesia. It is given by

Government of Indonesia every year to few companies based on their excellence in multiple

areas. Eratex received this award on 11th October 2017 under category of Best Exporter (East

Java Region). The jury selected Eratex based on it’s investment in automation technology,

innovative plans, capable human resource, competitiveness, product quality, and consistent

record of customer satisfaction.

Lactation Room Award

Breastfeeding provides ideal nutrition for infants. It has a nearly perfect mix of vitamins, protein,

and fat which is good for baby to grow. It contains antibodies that increase immunity of baby

against viruses & bacteria. Therefore mothers are suggested to breastfeed their child until 2

years old. Seeing to those fact Eratex provide a very comfortable lactation room in the factory’s

clinic. There are refrigerator to store the milk and other equipment or facility required for

breastfeeding. Eratex’s effort was duly appreciated and recognized by Probolinggo Mayor

as we received 2nd winner award in lactation room competition on 30th October 2017.

Maintaining a high level of compliances in all areas has always remain one of the top

priority of Eratex. The consistent approach of Eratex in maintaining the high compliance

standards helped in getting an outstanding appreciation in the form of sustainable “Top

Compliance Company” award from one of our prestigious buyer.

HIV-AIDS Awareness Seminar

As per UNICEF report (source: (UNICEF)), HIV infection is increasing at an alarming rate in

Indonesia as in every 25 minutes one person in Indonesia gets infected by HIV virus. One of the

main reasons is lack of proper awareness about the disease and its precautionary measures.

Keeping this view, Eratex formed a team called P2 HIV-Aids & narcotics (P2 stands for

Pencegahan (Prevention) & Penanggulangan (countermeasures)) to start conducting

educational gatherings/seminars to spread awareness relating to HIV-AIDS / usage of narcotics

among Eratex employees & surrounding society. On 19th November 2017, the team conducted

a seminar in Perumahan Pondok Serayu Jrebeng Kulon village, Probolinggo to spread

valuable knowledge about various topics such as symptoms of HIVAIDS, cause and

prevention of HIV-AIDS,and harmful effects of narcotics. Besides, team also conducted

seminar in SMKN 3 Probolinggo city. 50 students, along with teachers attended the seminar to

gain valuable knowledge about about various topics such as symptoms of HIVAIDS, cause and

prevention of HIV-AIDS.

To celebrate World AIDS Day, on 10th December, Eratex team joined HIPPHA (Himpunan

Perusahaan peraih HIV-AIDS Award-HIV-AIDS Award winning association) to participate in

seminar on HIV-AIDs, in Dayu Rejo village, Pasuruan, East Java, Indonesia. The seminar

covered key topics on prevention and countermeasures of HIV-AIDS & treatment of HIV-AIDS

patients and drugs addicts. Besides, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid test were conducted

during the event.

Contribution to Orphanages

New year as per Muslim calendar starts in October. Eratex started New Year with a noble

cause of donation in the form of groceries, stationaries, and cash to 85 orphans of surrounding

areas on 1st October. This act is much appreciated by the society of Probolinggo city.

Eratex along with Probolinggo Red Cross

(PMI) continued its tradition of organizing a

blood donating camp in factory clinic. 218

employees donated their blood during last

such camps held on 21st, 28th October, 11th

18th November, and 17th December.

Cleaned Umbul River

On 18th October 2017, HER project team initiated the task of cleaning the local river

which also passes through the premises of Eratex. Employees participated in this

cleaning drive. It took three and a half hours to clean the sediments from the river. The

waste and garbage collected from river was transported by using Eratex trucks to the

area permitted for land filling. Cleaning helps in smooth flow of water which prevents

water to overflow in low areas of adjoining villages during rainy season.

Chronic Disease Management Program for

Diabetes & Hypertension

Hypertension & Diabetes are common diseases in Indonesia.

As per World Health Organization (WHO), Indonesia is placed

on 5th rank as the country with largest diabetic patients. Around

9.1 million Indonesians are affected with diabetes. Approximate

70% cases are not detected at early stage when prevention

and cure is relatively easier. Similarly as per Health survey

indicator by Indonesia Health Minister, hypertension patient in

2016 increased to 39.4% as compared to 32.4% in 2013..

Keeping in view this, On 18th November 2017, Eratex

conducted a Chronic Disease Management Program covering

training and test for early detection of diabetes & hypertension.

In future this event will be conducted on regular basis.
