Who was Tutankhamen?Tutankhamen became king when he was only 9 years old.

Tutankhamen died suddenly when he was 19 years old.

His tomb was discovered by a man called Howard Carter. Ay one of his advisers/guardians

became pharaoh straight after Tutankhamen died.CAT scans in 2005 revealed that the

king was about 5 foot,8 inches tall.

A mummy is the body of a person that has been preserved after death.

After Tutankhamen died he was mummified and placed in a sarcophagus.It took a very long time to mummify

someone body from start to finish.

To have someone mummify you would cost you a lot of money.

During the process of mummification the embalmer would all the insides out and put them in canopic jars.

What were hieroglyphics used for?

There were no vowels in Egyptian Hieroglyphs only consonants, so ‘Egyptians are Cool’ without vowels would be ‘Gyptns r Cl’ !!!

The Egyptians used hieroglyphics to write with. Hieroglyphics were a form of

pictures and symbols.

Egyptian hieroglyphs could be written in both directions - right to left or left to right.

Sometimes scribes used a faster short form of hieroglyphics on papyrus called hieratic.
