Richard Derner, DPM, FACFAS, completed his DPM degree at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, his residency at Highlands/Doctors Hospital in Denver and a fellowship in trauma at the A.O. Clinic, St. Elizabeth Hospital, Ravensburg, Germany. He’s in private practice at Lake Ridge/Stafford Foot and Ankle Centers in Virginia and is a Past President of ACFAS.

Michael Gentile, DPM, is attending surgeon/teacher for the Legacy/Kaiser Portland Hospital’s Podiatric Surgical Residency Program. Contributor to the ACFAS textbook on Foot and Ankle Arthroscopy. He is a co-designer of an innovative foot and ankle plating system. He’s in private practice with Northwest Extremity Specialists, West Linn, OR.

Kristine, Hoffman, DPM, is Chairman of the Orthopedic Clinic, Denver Health Main Campus. Formerly in private practice in Boulder, CO, she is an avid runner and researcher and blogger on a wide range of topics in podiatric medicine. She’s a graduate of Rosalind Franklin University Medical School and the podiatry residency at North Colorado Medical Center.

Eric Jaakola, DPM, FACFAS, is Medical Director of the Amputation Prevention Center at Rose Hospital, Denver, where he has a private practice in diabetic foot and wound and sports podiatry. He’s also a Clinical Instructor in the Dept. of Family Medicine, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Adjunct Clinical Faculty at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and Externship Director of North Colorado Podiatric Surgical Residency. He’s a member of the Grant Review Board of the National Institute Council on Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Services.

Rem Jackson is CEO and Founder of Top Practices. He was inducted into the PM Podiatry Hall of Fame in 2019. Since 2007 Top Practices has enabled numerous doctors to grow their practices to achieve productivity and profitability.

June Baker Laird, JD, is an Associate at McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter, Greenwood Village, CO. She is well known as an attorney who is highly knowledgeable about Colorado and national podiatric issues and practice.

Greg Martin, MD, is a member of Radiology Imaging Associates at the Denver Tech Center Clinic. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at University of Utah. He also served at as interventional radiologist in Salt Lake City.

Tim Mineo, DPM, specializes in complex reconstructive surgery, trauma, arthroscopy sports medicine of the foot and ankle. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he was a competitive triathlete. He’s in private practice at Advantage Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Clinic in Gresham, OR.

Alan Ng, DPM, FACFAS, specializes in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery and trauma. He’s past president of American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and has been Chair of the Oral Foot examination for Board Certification in foot surgery since 2009. He’s a designer of surgical equipment and consults to enhance patient outcomes with new technology to improve surgical techniques. He’s a member of Advanced Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialists in Denver.

William P. Scherer, DPM, MS, Board Certified by American Board of Podiatric Surgery, American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. He served for 17 years as Adjunct Professor at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine. Three of his articles received APMA William J. Stickel Award for outstanding research. He’s in private practice in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Ross Wilkins, MD, is Medical Director of the Joint Restoration Foundation, President of the Limb Preservation Foundation and Senior Medical Director of AlloSource, a nonprofit consortium which processes bone and tissue for human transplantation. He received a master’s degree in cellular biology as well as a medical degree. He completed a fellowship in orthopaedic oncology at the Mayo Clinic. He’s recognized internationally as an expert on limb preservation, bone and soft tissue tumors and bone transplantation.

• Understand research in running shoe gear to make most effective recommendations to patients.

• Identify best techniques for posterior arthroscopy, arthroscopic assisted fusions and advanced Achilles reconstruction.

• Identify benefits of DNA testing for chronic wounds.

• Understand best techniques for total contact casting for the diabetic foot.

• Understand the role of motion preserving options for treating hallux rigidus.

• Review marketing techniques which allow you to attract and retain patients.

• Identify techniques for subchrondroplasty and cartilage restoration.

• Review Lisfranc injuries and ankle fusions. Identify best treatment options and techniques.

• Understand proper documentation of complications and effective patient communication.
