• It is worth 10 percent of your semester’s mark.
• This project will be explained to you in this presentation.

• You will be given a topic related to a theme from your book.
• You will fill in Mind Map with Six Subtopics you create for your topic.
• You must provide Six Visual Elements related to your topic.
• You will write Descriptions for the visuals.
• You will present the project in class.

WEEK 1: INTRODUCING PROJECT DETAILS
• You must get/buy a project folder this week.• After the final presentation the materials will be put in a plastic sleeve. (you are responsible to bring the plastic sleeve)
• You are responsible for keeping the Project Materials. The teacher collects them only at the end of the five-week task. (Submitting your material is Mandatory)
• Each week you will hear what you will do in class, what you must do outside of class, and what you will do the following session.
• No marks are awarded in Week 1.

WEEK ONE
• Today, your teacher will show you the Topic and the Given Prompts.
• During the week, you should:
• Think about your topic and the given prompts
• Create Six Sub-topics for your topic
• You will use these Six Sub-topics to fill in the Mind Map with in Week 2.

WEEK 2: MIND MAP & START OF RESEARCH
• You will receive a hand-out for the Mind Map of the topic and will complete it in class using the SIX Subtopics you created for your topic.
• The teacher will check the Mind Map and ask you to revise if necessary.
• You will receive 2 MARKS for the Mind Map. You will keep the Mind Map in your folder.

DURING THE WEEK• During the week, you must collect Six Visuals from the
Internet, magazines or newspapers. The Visuals can also be
drawn or taken by a camera. They can be visual elements like
graphs, charts, table, drawings, photos, etc.
• You must bring Hard Copy Visuals to class in Week 3.
• You may bring notes to class for WEEK 3. These notes will be
used to write the DECRIPTIONS for your visuals.
• You must NOT bring in pre-written sentences and must NOT
copy from printouts.
• Notes should be key words and phrases so that you can write
you DECRIPTIONS in your own words.

WEEK 3A. VISUAL ELEMENTS & DESCRIPTIONS
• Bring Six Visuals to class in hard copy.
• You respond to instructions in class to write a description for each visual.
• Descriptions are handwritten on a separate lined sheet (You teacher will provide you with).
• The teacher will check each written description.• In class, you will correct descriptions if needed. • You will receive 1 MARK for the visuals and 2 MARKS for the descriptions.• The following slide explains the kind of
description you should write for each visual element.

WEEK 3B. PRESENTATION PREPARATION
• Your teachers will introduce WEEK 4 TASK in advance as follows:
• Students must bring their project hard copy
materials (Title page, Mind Map, Six Visuals, and
Six Descriptions) to class in WEEK 4.
• Students will hear more about the Guidelines
and the Marking Scheme of the Final Oral
Presentation.

WEEK 4PRESENTATION PREPARATION STAGE
• Bring your project hard copy materials.
• You will receive feedback from your teacher on material
content.
• Your teacher will explain the Presentation Guidelines
and the Final Oral Presentation Marking Scheme
(refer to the booklet).
• Your teacher will show you a model presentation.
• During the week, you will prepare for your oral
presentation.
•You will receive 1 MARKS for Presentation Preparation.

• You MUST bring HARD COPIES of your Project Materials for
submission in the FINAL WEEK 5.
• For the Final Presentation, you may choose from 3 options:
• Show each visual individually
• Attach the six visuals to a poster (remove later for
submission)
• Use the class E-podium to display the six visuals

• Times for each presentation are:o Level A - 2 minutes
o Level B - 3 minutes o Level C - 4 minutes.
• Your teacher will collect all your project hard copy materials in sleeves.
• The sleeve should contain:o Title Pageo Mind-map
o Visual elementso handwritten descriptions
• You will receive a mark out of 3 for the oral presentation based on your performance AND
1 mark for the completed portfolio.

CA PROJECT RULES FOR STUDENTS
• The project tasks will take place on Mondays.
• The weekly project tasks must be kept in the folder. You are
RESPONSIBLE to keep the folder till the final day of submission.
• Marks will be awarded starting from Week Two through Week Five.
They will be given at the end of each session.
• Students should be Present on Mondays during the project weeks.
• Your teacher will shortly show you the Absence Policy and Procedures.

CA PROJECT RULES FOR STUDENTS (CONTINUED)
• You must submit Original Work for all the project stages; any sort of cheating like copying (using someone else’s work) or plagiarism (copying from the Internet or any other resource) is strictly forbidden.
• Important: If any instance of cheating or plagiarism is verified, you will receive a ZERO for the entire project.
• You cannot change the topic once it has been selected and agreed on.
