Quality Function Deployment (QFD):

A methodology for taking the Voice of the Customer.

Used to translate customer requirements into product specifications or design parameters.

It is often sufficient to translate the VOC into CTQs.

A prerequisite to QFD is Market Research.

Approach:

First, list the VOC.

Second, weight the importance of eachstatement (from 1 to 10).

Third, list the CTQs.

Forth, rate the strength of therelationship (use the std. symbols).

Finally, add up the weighted scores foreach CTQ to establish which shouldbe given highest priority.
