YOU ARE REQUIRED TO CHECK WITH YOUR STATE BOARD FOR MANDATORYCLEANING AND DISINFECTING REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES.The following procedures are important guidelines that will help in keepingyour pedicure chair clean and trouble free for years. It is extremely importantto clean and disinfect each and every pedicure chair after each pedicure andafter the last pedicure of the day.

A SPECIAL NOTE PERTAINING TO BLEACHWhile bleach seems to be used extensively for cleaning and disinfecting ofpedicure chair basins, it is NOT recommended nor is it effective. Moreover, excessive use of bleach may greatly reduce the longevity of your pedicurechair internal components (i.e. pumps, jet, waste assembly, etc.). Excessiveand repeated use of bleach may also void your warranty. As always, you arerequired to check with your state board for mandatory cleaning anddisinfecting requirements and procedures.Cleaning and Disinfecting ProductsYour state board requires disinfecting of your pedicure basin. Continuumrecommends “Splish Splash One-Step Disinfectant.” The following pageoutlines the benefits of Splish Splash together with contactinformation. While other EPA registered products are available for maintaining pedicuretubs, we have found Splish Splash to be the most effective, multi-purposeand economical product on the market.

After Each Client &End of Each Day Cleaning Procedures

The removable wet-end assembly MUST be placed onto the motor housing in thecorrect position or the jet may be damaged. The wet end housing must fit in the propergroove onto the motor housing. If the wet end is not positioned correctly, damage to thejet may occur due to misalignment. This will NOT be covered by any Continuumwarranty. Never turn the jet on without adequate water in the basin. There must be atleast one (1) inch of water above the motor housing.

1. Drain all water from the basin.2. Remove the Wet End consisting of the cover, impeller, and housing from the jet. No tools are required. Simply pull the

wet end away from the jet. Make sure motor has completely stopped. Twist the cover from the housing to expose theimpeller.

3. Clean all 3 wet end parts with a brush, liquid soap and water to remove all visible residue. Reattach all 3 parts to themotor housing. Make sure the wet end is placed in the proper groove on the jet housing.

4. Fill the basin with warm water and circulate the correct amount of the EPA Registered Liquid Disinfectant(Splish Splash is strongly recommended) through the basin for 10 minutes.Scrub all visible residue from the inside walls of the basin with a sponge/soft brush. Brushes must be cleaned anddisinfected after each use.

5. Drain the water and rinse the basin; wipe dry with a clean paper towel.

THE ABOVE SHOULD BE FOLLOWED EVEN IF TUB LINERS ARE USED.Note:The use of oil based products can build up in the whirlpool system causing clogging inthe jet and build up onto the surface of the basin. Adherence to the above cleaning willminimize build up thus the manufacturer recommend not to use mineral oil basedproduct.

YOUR ARE REQUIRED TO CHECK WITH YOUR STATE BOARD FORMANDATORY CLEANING AND DISINFECTING REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES.

Care and MaintenanceIMPORTANT NOTE: Never use abrasive cleaners or pads on any part of the pedicure unit.

Fiberglass Finishes (including basins)Fiberglass finishes require very little maintenance. If any harsh chemicals come in contact with the fiberglass finish, it isimportant to wipe clean as quickly as possible. Do not allow chemicals (i.e. nail polish, acetone, cuticle remover) to dry onfiberglass surfaces.

If one desires to polish the gel-gloss finish (fiberglass finish), one can purchase “Gel Gloss” or “Novus Polish” at mosthardware stores. Read and follow manufacturer’s instructions.

Basin-Acrylic/Capped/FiberglassDo NOT use abrasive pads or cleaners on any surface. Wipe clean with a sponge or soft brush. Follow Stateʼs cleaningand disinfecting procedures.

Glass BasinThe “Bravo” model features a tempered, high-strength glass basin. While it is quite thick, it can crack if an object, i.e. amassage stone, is dropped into the basin. (This damage is NOT covered under the Limited Warranty) Reasonable caremust be taken when using the glass basin.Do NOT use abrasive pads or cleaners on glass surfaces or any chrome surfaces.Follow all State Rules and Regulations with regards to cleaning and sanitation.

UpholsterySimply use a mild detergent (very little) with warm water and gently clean any dirt or grime that may appear on the seat, seatback or arms. The leather-like material is very durable and with reasonable care should look like new for many years.Stains from customers garment are not covered under warranty.

FootrestsA mild detergent and warm water is all that is needed to clean the padded leg supports. Howevercare should be taken to prevent nail polish or acetone from coming in contact with the leg supports. These productsmay damage or discolor the outer “skin” of the foam.In spite of taking necessary precautions to protect the leg supports, hard water and/or certain products many causethe black footrests to develop a white film or some discoloration. If this occurs, a product called “Black Max”-Vinyl andRubber Dressing works well to restore the leg supports. Black Max can be purchased at most hardware stores oronline.

Massage SystemsSE Chair: The massage system is located in the back portion of the chair. It is accessible by unzipping thezipper located on the back or side of the chair. This allows for removal of the upholstered chair cover andaccess to the four (4) motor plus heating pad Vibra-massage system.

LE and VE Chairs: The massage mechanisms on the LE and VE chairs require little maintenance. However, since it is a “Full Function” system there are more parts that may need lubrication or service eventually. If themechanism becomes excessively noisy, a very little light grease may be applied to the tracks. Massage mech-anism may be accessed by the front of the LE model and by the back of the VE model.

CAUTION: Make sure grease never comes in contact with pulley belts as they will becomeslippery and fail.

NOTE: VERY IMPORTANT!Both LE and VE Chairs use rather complex rolling and kneading mechanisms. Under normal use, theserolling and kneading mechanisms may cause the foam and protective fabric to wear thin. This is perfectlynormal. However, to prevent serious damage to the mechanism, one must check for normal wear and tearat least every (6) six months. If foam and/or fabric is wearing thin, immediately contact ContinuumFootspas for replacements.
