Centil Cantiks Scenario

Centil cantik is a second year medical student. She likes modelling activities. She always join modelling competitions and wish be a famous model. Actually she doesnt want to be a medical doctor, but her mother forced her to study in medical faculty. She got a bad achievement in medical faculty, because everyday, she enjoys modelling activities more than reading books or study in group. She feels that she doesnt fit as medical student because she enjoys travelling more, while medical faculty learning strategy forces her to study in her room.

Now shes become more confused because PD III suggests every medical student to join scientific activities. Centil feels that scientific activities are boring and wasting much time. In fact, at the moment shes having difficulty in time management.I. Term Clarification

II. Problem Identification

1. Centils hope to be a famous model incompatible with her mothers hope to be a medical doctor.2. Centils achievement in medical faculty is not very good.

3. Learning strategy in medical faculty is not fit with Centils habit.4. Centil is happier with modelling activities.5. Suggestion from PD III to join scientific activities confused Centil.6. Scientific activities are boring and wasting much time for Centil.7. Centils inability to manage the time.III. Problem Analysis

Answers :

1.a. Centil has to built an effective communication with her parents especially

with her mother, try to make herself comfortable in medical learning, and

motivate herself to do medical activities.

b. Centil feels being forced when study in medical faculty because she doesnt

have interest in medical at all, she more interest in modelling activities but her

mother wants her to be a doctor.

2.a. Because Centil entered medical faculty by her mother force and she

doesnt study in medical faculty seriously, proved by her bad achievement.

b. Centil has to less down her modelling activities so her medical study not

not being disturb and less down her hanging out habits.

3.a. Centil has to motivate herself to make her habits compatible with medical

learning strategy, such as dont hanging out and do medical group activities.

b. Because Centil more enjoy hanging out than study in her room.

4.a. Modelling activities compatible with her hanging out habits, not in medical

faculty which ask her to study in her room.

b. Centils environment, such as classroom and friends have to motivate her and

make her more comfortable in medical learning process.

5.a. The definition of more confusing condition is condition when Centil can

not make a decision on what she has to choose and cant manage her time, so

she doesnt know her priority.

b. Centil must has good time management and less down her modelling activity.

6.a. Because Centil does not have interest in medical things so it makes she feels

that all of medical activities or scientific activities are bored and wasting

time.

b. Centil has to know the purposes, reasons and advantages of scientific

scientific activities.

activities to be her priority.

b. Because Centil does not know her priority and she does not have a good

VI. Synthesis

Centil Cantiks interest in modelling activities and wish become a famous model. Nevertheless, she faced with her mothers hope to be a doctor. Finally, she entered medical faculty, although she does not want to be a doctor at all. This condition makes Centil has difficulty in studying. So she has to make her achievement become good.

There is not good interpersonal communication between Centil Cantik and her mother, make she feels being forced when she study in medical faculty.She has to make an effective communication. (1b)(2a)(1a)

Centil has to make good interpesonal communication between she and her parents, especially her mother.

Communication is process of exchanging information and interpersonal communication is process that we use to communicate our ideas, thoughts, and feelings to another person.

Centil was forced by her mother when she entered medical faculty. She didnt have a desire to enter medical faculty. She is more interested in modelling activities. But now she is in her second year. So, the best way is interpersonal communication with her mother, so she can tel about her opinion and interest.

Centil has to be able to adapt with her environment at medical faculty.

Medical facultys environment, such as friends and her class situation. Centils friends must be able to motivate her to put more interest in medical activities. Classroom should be well equipped in every aspect, especially in technology and structural. Physical facilities should be designed to enhance communication and cooperation.

Centil Cantik has to decide her priority and make a good time management.

Centil has problem that she can not divide her time well. If she can built good time management, she can solve her problem. Centil should do :

1. Make priority

2. Make daily schedule

3. Must have motivation for herself to do medical activities, she needs a motivation in this situation so that she can enhance her achievement at medical faculty. There re two motivation

External motivation, it is from her environment at medical faculty even her families.

Internal motivation, it is from herself, she must think that she likes medical activities. Try to make herself more enjoyable learning in medical faculty.

4. Centil has to applicate her own learning style

Effective CommunicationCommunication is the process of exchanging information. Information is conveyed as words, tone of voice, and body language. Information not only real fact, also fiction, rumor etc.Words account for 7 percent of the information communicated. Vocal tone accounts for 55 percent and body language accounts for 38 percent.

Interpersonal communication is the process that we use to communicate our ideas, thoughts, and feelings to another person.Our interpersonal communication skills are learned behaviors that can be improved through knowledge, practice, feedback, and reflection.To be effective communicators, team members must be aware of these forms (words, vocal tone, and body language), how to use them effectively, and barriers to the communications process.If in the Communication process, the message can be accepted and understanded by the reciever , similarly with the sender meaning.Indicator Effective Communication :

To make a good time management, there are some ways to do :

Learning styles are simply different approaches or ways of learning. About learning styles and how to use yourself in the most efficient way. Learning styles are the way in which each individual learner begins to concentrate on, process, absorb, and retain new and difficult information.

Some type of learning style :1. Aural or auditory learner, draw charts and diagrams,movies or movie clips.

2. Visual Learner, use lecture, have students explain concepts to each other,music.

3. Read and write learner, handouts and incomplete notes.

4. Kinesthetic learner, lab exercises or demos, role Playing, power point or assignments.

Learning atmosphere

Some aspect of learning atmosphere :

1. Classroom

3. Sound, contrary to popular belief, not everyone needs to study in a perfectly quiet environment. However, if you do choose to study to music, choose classical music. The tempo and instrumentation of this music seems to be most compatible with study and learning. 4. Lighting, some people become depressed because of light deprivation. If you are one of those people, you should try to study and spend as much time as possible in highly lit places.Reading ability can be affected by the light contrast between print and paper color. There is a high contrast between black letters printed on white paper. Some people find it easier to read black print on blue or gray paper which has less contrast and is easier on their eyes. 5. Temperature, you should be aware of your preference for either a cool or warm environment. Dress in layers so that you can adjust to differences in classroom temperatures. Choose to study in the environments in which you feel most comfortable.6. Get motivated, create a work area that is free from distractions and commit to staying there for at least one to two hours. If you get side-tracked, remind yourself how this activity will help you to meet your goals. Adult Learning

Adult learning is an adult learn some thing. An adult learn :
