  • 1. WORLDVIEWKEEPING A CONSISTENT BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW

2. WorldviewA Worldview is a set of internal feelings and beliefs wehold as our own personal truth or reality. It is from this setof internal beliefs that we live our lives according to ourpersonal moral compass. 3. According to a recent nationwide survey by the BarnaResearch Group determined that only 9 percent of Americans had a "biblical" worldview."Although most people own a Bible and know someof its content, our research found that mostAmericans have little idea how to integrate corebiblical principles to form a unified and meaningfulresponse to the challenges and opportunities oflife." 4. Questions used by the Barna group in thesurveyDo absolute moral truths exist? Is absolute truth defined by the Bible?Did Jesus Christ live a sinless life?Is God the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe, anddoes He still rule it today? Is salvation a gift from God that cannot be earned? Is Satan real?Does a Christian have a responsibility to share his or her faith inChrist with other people? Is the Bible accurate in all of its teachings? 5. ASK YOURSELF CAN YOU SAY YES TO ALL OF THOSE QUESTIONS ? DO YOU SEEK THE BIBLE FIRST AS THE FIRST AND FOREMOSTSOURCE OF INFORMATION ? CAN YOU EASILY IDENTIFY THINGS OF THE WORLD THAT ARENOT INLINE WITH YOUR CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW? ie., Movies,Music, Books, PoliticsCOL 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollowand deceptive philosophy, which depends on human traditionand the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than onChrist. (NIV) 6. FAITH Hebrews 11 1 Corinthians 13 7. Life consistent with our BiblicalWorldviewROMANS 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of yourmind. Then you will be able to test and approve what Gods will is his good, pleasing and perfect will.ROMANS 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation toeveryone who believesROMANS 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.EPHESIANS 5:1-17 Follow Gods example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But amongyou there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, becausethese are improper for Gods holy people. Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedypersonsuch a person is an idolater has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no onedeceive you with empty words, for because of such things Gods wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) andfind out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but ratherexpose them. It is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed bythe light becomes visibleand everything that is illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said: "Wakeup, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. Be very careful, then, how you live not asunwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not befoolish, but understand what the Lords will is. 8.
