Master of Science in InstructionalLeadership/NBCTDeveloping leadership skills for educatorsinterested in becoming a school leader or administrator, this degree combines the five National Board CertifiedTeaching (NBCT) courses with fiveleadership courses from the EducationalAdministration program. Development of the NBCT portfolio serves as the thesisproject. Adding three more courses withinseven years may earn the student apreliminary administrator license.

Master of Science in Special Education – Emphasis in the Deaf and Hard-of-HearingThis degree is designed for educators andother professionals who want to becomeknowledgeable about educational learningchallenges and teaching strategies toenhance performance of students who aredeaf and/or hard of hearing.

Autism CertificateThis certificate is designed for thoseinterested in finding out more aboutworking with and teaching those

who fall within the Autism Spectrum Disorder.

California Reading Certificate The California Reading Certificateauthorizes the holder to assess studentreading and provide reading instruction inresponse to those assessments. ReadingCertificate holders are also authorized to develop, implement, and adapt thereading content curriculum and assistclassroom teachers in these areas.

Early Childhood Education CertificateThis four-course program is designed togive students the teaching experiencenecessary to meet the unique needs ofchildren from birth to age 8.

Early Childhood Special Education Certificate For individuals who have completed LevelII coursework in special education andhold a Professional Specialist Credential,Mild/Moderate or Moderate/Severedisabilities, completion of the certificateextends teaching authorization from birththrough age 22.

Educational Technology Certificate This will develop expertise indesigning and conducting technology-facilitated instruction in K-12technology coordination, siteadministration, home school andvirtual school instruction, and onlineinstruction in higher education.
