Dancing With Ethics: Steps to Making Ethical ChoicesMONDAY, JULY 19 • 1:00 —4:00 PM

SPEAKERS: JODY BOUDREAUx, CAE, CIC, CISR, EVP OF PIA OF LOUISIANA

We all have an image of our better selves…of how we are when we act ethically or are at “our best.” We also probably have an image of what an ethical business, government and society should be. Ethics really has to do with all these levels... acting ethically as individuals, creating ethical organizations and governments and making our society as a whole ethical in the way it treats everyone. This interactive seminar will provide the basis for defining ethics, determining what are ethical issues and a framework for ethical decision-making. Participants will not only learn about the five commonly accepted approaches to decision-mak-ing but they will be able to apply them as they examine case studies.

EDUCATION SESSIONS2010 Legislative UpdateSUNDAY, JULY 18 • 1:00 - 3:00 PM

SPEAKER: J. ROBERT WOOLEY, ADAMS & REESE, LLP, PIA LOBBYISTJOSEPH PETRELLI, PRESIDENT OF DEMOTECH, INC.

As one of the most highly regulated sectors of our economy, the insurance industry and the professionals that comprise it are uniquely affected on a daily basis by the actions of government. This course offers a behind the scenes look at how we as industry professionals can have a direct impact on the creation of laws that govern our day to day professional lives. We will explore how to most effectively engage in the legislative process by taking an in-depth look at the just completed legislative session. To provide an example of how this impacts your livelihood, the president of Demotech, Inc. will discuss the financial stability of carriers in the marketplace and how agents should familiarize themselves with the services that rate and review those markets. He will also discuss how insurance professionals can overcome the challenges associated with the insolvency exclusion that has crept into insurance agents’ E&O insurance policies.

JoSEPH L.
