Noriko AIKAWA-FAURE

Noriko Aikawa-Faure, Tokyo University graduate (Art History), doctorate candidate at University of Paris Sorbonne (Art History) and l’Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (Social Anthropology), was the former Director of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Unit of UNESCO. She developed this programme since its inception in 1992. She thus followed the whole process of the genesis and development of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. She then became a visiting professor at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, Tokyo. She served between 2013 and 2017 the Agency for Cultural Affairs, the Government of Japan, as Advisor for Intangible Cultural Heritage. She is a UNESCO accredited facilitator for its Capacity Building Programme (Intangible Cultural Heritage) since 2011. Her research domain is the policy studies for the safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Noriko Aikawa-Faure, diplômée de l’Université de Tokyo (en histoire de l’art), candidate au doctorat à l’Université de la Sorbonne à Paris (en histoire de l’art) et à l’École Pratique des Hautes Études (en anthropologie sociale), est l’ancienne Directrice de l’Unité du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l’UNESCO. Elle a participé au développement de ce programme depuis sa création en 1992. Elle a donc assisté à la naissance et au développement de la Convention de l’UNESCO pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel. Elle est ensuite devenue professeure invitée à l’Institut des hautes études politiques à Tokyo. De 2013 à 2017, elle a été conseillère pour le patrimoine culturel immatériel auprès de l’Agence des affaires culturelles ainsi qu’auprès du Gouvernement japonais. Elle est l’une des facilitatrices accréditées de l’UNESCO pour son programme de renforcement des capacités (dans le domaine du patrimoine culturel immatériel) depuis 2011. Ses recherches portent principalement sur les politiques pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel.

Gulnara AITPAEVA

Gulnara Aitpaeva has the candidate degree in Literature Studies from Moscow State University, USSR (1987) and doctoral degree in Literature and Folklore Studies from Kyrgyz State University, Kyrgyzstan (1996). In 1996-2005, Gulnara was taking various positions at the American University in Central Asia and contributed in building a new style university in the country. Currently she is the director of Aigine Cultural Research Center (Aigine means lucid, definite), founded by her in 2004 with the mission of expanding research on lesser known aspects of the cultural and natural heritage of Kyrgyzstan, integrating folk and scholar epistemologies. Aigine CRC carries out its activities in the fields of cultural heritage, education and applied social research. In 2010, Aigine CRC has started cooperation with the UNESCO National Commission in Kyrgyzstan by participating in regional workshops and sharing experience and expertise in the field of ICH. Since 2012, Aigine CRC has been proactively participating in preparing such elements of Kyrgyz cultural heritage as the epic trilogy “Manas. Semetei. Seitek”, the improvisatory poetry Aitysh, the traditional game Kok Bory and others for inscription into the UNESCO Representative List of ICH. In 2012-2016, Gulnara was a country representative in the Intergovernmental Committee on Intangible Heritage of UNESCO. In 2013 – 2015, she served as an expert in the Subsidiary Body of Intergovernmental Committee on ICH. In 2015, Aigine CRC was accredited under the 2003 Convention. Aitpaeva is the author of more than 70 publications on Kyrgyz literature and epics, sacred sites and cultural heritage.

Gulnara Aitpaeva a obtenu un doctorat en littérature à l’Université d’État de Moscou (URSS) en 1987 et un doctorat en littérature et études du folklore à l’Université d’État du Kirghizistan en 1996. Entre 1996 et 2005, elle a occupé plusieurs postes à l’Université américaine d’Asie centrale et a contribué à l’essor d’un nouveau style d’enseignement universitaire dans le pays. Elle dirige actuellement le Centre de recherche culturelle Aigine (aigine signifie lucide, clair), qu’elle a fondé en 2004. Sa mission est d’élargir les recherches sur les aspects méconnus du patrimoine culturel et naturel kirghize, en menant notamment des travaux sur le folklore et des études épistémologiques. Le CRC Aigine est actif dans les domaines du patrimoine culturel, de l’éducation et des sciences sociales appliquées. Depuis 2010, le CRC Aigine collabore avec la Commission nationale de la République kirghize pour l'UNESCO en participant à des ateliers régionaux et en partageant son expérience et son expertise en matière de PCI. Depuis 2012, l’organisation a participé activement à la préparation des candidatures d’éléments, entre autres « Manas, Semetey, Seitek : trilogie épique kirghize », « L'aitysh/aitys, art de l'improvisation » et « Le kok-boru, jeu équestre traditionnel », en vue de leur inscription sur la Liste représentative de l’UNESCO. De 2013 à 2015, elle a été experte pour l’Organe subsidiaire du Comité intergouvernemental. En 2015, le CRC Aigine a été accrédité dans le cadre de la Convention de 2003. Claudine ANGOUÉ

Holder of a doctorate in Social and Cultural Anthropology, Claudine-Augée Angoué is a professor at the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at the Omar Bongo University in Libreville, Gabon. While teaching at the university, she also acted as a technical advisor to the Ministry of Culture and Arts between 2004 and 2007. In 2005, she was involved in the "expert meetings on criteria for inscription on the lists established by the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage". Claudine-Augée Angoué was then elected as a representative for the first ever Intergovernmental Committee for the 2003 Convention, working as a rapporteur for 4 years. She was part of the first group of facilitators trained by the Convention Secretariat in Libreville in 2011. In this role, she has facilitated (alone or as a pair) capacity-building workshops in IMP, INV, needs analysis and multi-year project development for States Parties to the Convention. Claudine-Augée Angoué participated in the activities of the Evaluation Body for USL nominations and Good Practices over 4 separate cycles as a member, rapporteur, then Chairperson. This experience took her to the Gaston Berger University in Saint Louis, Senegal, to work on the creation of the curricula for the “Heritage Professions” Department with a view to a Master's degree.

Claudine-Augée Angoué, Docteur en anthropologie sociale et culturelle, enseigne à la Faculté de Lettres et Sciences Humaines de l’Université Omar Bongo (Libreville Gabon). Parallèlement à sa fonction d’enseignante, elle a été Conseiller technique au Ministère de la culture de 2004 à 2007. Dès 2005, elle a pris part aux « réunions d’experts sur les critères d’inscription sur les listes établies par la Convention pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel ». Claudine-Augée ANGOUE a été élue membre du premier Comité intergouvernemental pour la Convention de 2003 pour une durée de 4 ans, en qualité de rapporteur . Elle fait partie du premier groupe des facilitateurs formés en 2011 par le Secrétariat de la Convention à Libreville. En cette qualité de facilitateur elle a animé (seul ou en binôme) des ateliers de renforcement des capacités en IMP, INV, en analyse des besoins et élaboration de projets pluriannuels auprès des Etats parties à la Convention. Claudine-Augée ANGOUE a participé aux activités de l’Organe d’évaluation des dossiers de Candidatures à la LSU et à celle des Bonnes pratiques pendant 4 cycles au cours desquels elle a été membre, rapporteur et présidente. Cette expérience l’a emmenée à l’Université Gaston Berger de Saint Louis (Sénégal), pour collaborer à l’élaboration des curricula consacrés à la section sur les Métiers du Patrimoine avec la perspective d’un Master.

Sang Mee BAK

Sang Mee Bak is a professor of cultural anthropology in the Division of International Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Republic of Korea. She has a Ph.D in anthropology from Harvard University. Dr. Bak has been working on heritage and identity, food as heritage, heritage tourism, gender and heritage, and heritage policies. Geographically, she has conducted anthropological fieldwork in Korea, China, and Singapore. In Korea, Dr. Bak has served as a member of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Committee, and the World Heritage Division of the Cultural Heritage Committee. Since 2015, Dr. Bak has been a facilitator for UNESCO capacity-building workshops in Fiji, China, Singapore, and Republic of Korea. Starting from the 2018 cycle, Dr. Bak has been participating in the Evaluation Body under the 2003 UNESCO ICH Convention, and was the president of the Body for the 2019 cycle.

Sang Mee Bak est professeure d’anthropologie culturelle à la Division des études internationales de l’Université Hankuk d’études étrangères à Séoul, en République de Corée. Elle est titulaire d’un doctorat en anthropologie de l’Université d’Harvard. Mme Bak travaille sur le patrimoine et l’identité, la cuisine en tant que patrimoine, le tourisme patrimonial, les questions de genre relatives au patrimoine et les politiques patrimoniales. Elle a dirigé des études anthropologiques sur le terrain en Corée, en Chine et à Singapour. En Corée, elle a été membre du Comité du patrimoine culturel immatériel et de la Division du patrimoine mondial du Comité du patrimoine culturel. Depuis 2015, elle fait partie des facilitateurs du programme de renforcement des capacités de l’UNESCO et à ce titre elle a participé à des ateliers aux Fidji, en Chine, à Singapour et en République de Corée. Depuis 2018, Mme Bak fait partie des membres de l’Organe d’évaluation de la Convention de 2003 de l’UNESCO pour la sauvegarde du PCI. Elle l’a d’ailleurs présidé pour le cycle 2019.


Salomon BAZBAZ LAPIDUS

Salomón Bazbaz Lapidus is a cultural producer, co-creator and co-founder of the “Cumbre Tajín Festival” and the “Centre for Indigenous Arts (CAI)”, a formal public educational institution for the intergenerational transmission of indigenous values through art and culture. In 2012, the CAI was included in UNESCO’s Register of Good Safeguarding Practices of Intangible Cultural Heritage. He coordinated the nomination file of the “Ritual Ceremony of the Voladores”, which in 2009 was inscribed in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, and founded the State Council for its preservation. His projects as a producer and conceptualizer of global events include the “International Forum for the Rights of Mother Earth”, “SUR-REAL, encounter of Culture”, the “Agustín Lara International Festival”, the “Bicentennial Regatta”, the “Ruta del Fuego” and the “Tajín Vive” night tour, among others. Highlights of his career as an audiovisual and documentary producer for national and international television networks include Luz and Voces de El Tajín, La Movida Regia, Los secretos del bajo Petén and Vida Veracruzana. He has been the editor of several books and magazines, such as “The Art of Being Totonac”, “Mujeres de Humo”, and “El Espíritu del Tren Maya” among others. He has written articles and essays of Intangible Cultural Heritage for specialized books and magazines. He co-wrote “El ocaso de la Clase Media” which was reffered in Social Stratification in Central Mexico, 1500-2000.

Salomón Bazbaz Lapidus est producteur culturel, mais aussi cocréateur et cofondateur du festival Cumbre Tajín et du Centre des arts indigènes, une institution éducative publique officielle œuvrant pour la transmission intergénérationnelle des valeurs autochtones à travers l'art et la culture. Ce Centre a été inscrit en 2012 au Registre de bonnes pratiques de sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l'UNESCO. M. Bazbaz Lapidus a coordonné le dossier de candidature de « La cérémonie rituelle des Voladores », qui a été inscrite en 2009 sur la Liste représentative du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l'humanité par l'UNESCO, et il a fondé le Conseil d'État pour sa préservation. Parmi ses projets en tant que producteur et concepteur d'événements mondiaux, citons entre autres le Forum international pour les droits de la Terre-Mère, la rencontre culturelle SUR-REAL, le festival international Agustín Lara, la Régate du bicentenaire, la Ruta del Fuego et le parcours nocturne Tajín Vive. Janet BLAKE

Janet Blake is Associate Professor of Human Rights Law at Shahid Beheshti University (Tehran) where she teaches Human Rights and Environmental Law and is a member of the Centres of Excellence for Education for Sustainable Development and for Silk Roads Studies based at the University. She is the Director of an NGO accredited to UNESCO’s 2003 Convention and a member of the Cultural Heritage Law Committee of the International Law Association. An Expert Member of the Governing Body for the Tehran ICH Centre (category 2 centre of UNESCO), she was a member of the Iranian ICH Expert Committee from 2016- 2019. She has acted as an International Consultant to UNESCO since 1999, mostly in developing, drafting and implementing the 2003 Convention on Intangible Cultural Heritage. Most recently, she was involved in revising the periodic reporting form to bring it into line with the ORF and the regional training on periodic reporting of national Focal Points from the LAC region. She is also a Global Facilitator for UNESCO’s Capacity-building programme under the 2003 Convention and has provided advice at governmental level on developing national law and policy for ICH safeguarding. Her research monograph on International Cultural Heritage Law and co-edited volume UNESCO 2003 Intangible Heritage Convention – A Commentary were published by Oxford University Press in 2015 and 2020, respectively. Her forthcoming book (to be published by Edward Elgar in 2022) is a Practical Guide to UNESCO’s 2003 Convention on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage: Interpretation and Practice.

Janet Blake est maître de conférences en droit des droits de l’homme à l'Université Shahid Beheshti de Téhéran, où elle enseigne le droit des droits de l’homme et le droit environnemental. Elle est membre du Centre d'excellence pour l'éducation au développement durable et du Centre de recherche sur les Routes de la soie, tous deux basés à l'Université. Elle est la directrice d’une ONG accréditée dans le cadre de la Convention de 2003 et est également membre du Comité juridique pour le patrimoine culturel de l’International Law Association. Elle est membre expert de l’organe directeur du Centre pour le PCI de Téhéran (centre de catégorie 2 de l’UNESCO) et a été membre du Comité iranien d’experts du PCI de 2016 à 2019. Depuis 1999, elle est conseillère internationale auprès de l’UNESCO, principalement pour le développement, la préparation et la mise en œuvre de la Convention de 2003 pour le patrimoine culturel immatériel. Plus récemment, elle a participé à la révision du formulaire du rapport périodique visant à l’aligner sur le cadre global de résultats, ainsi qu’à la formation régionale des points focaux nationaux de la


région Amérique latine et Caraïbes sur la préparation des rapports périodiques. Elle officie également comme facilitatrice mondiale pour le programme de renforcement des capacités dans le cadre de la Convention de 2003 de l'UNESCO et a prodigué des conseils sur l'élaboration de lois et de politiques nationales pour la sauvegarde du PCI au niveau gouvernemental. Son ouvrage de recherche consacré aux lois du patrimoine culturel international et l’ouvrage intitulé UNESCO 2003 Intangible Heritage Convention – A Commentary (La Convention de 2003 de l’UNESCO pour le patrimoine immatériel : un commentaire), qu’elle a coédité, ont été publiés par Oxford University Press en 2015 et 2020 respectivement. Son ouvrage à paraître prochainement (aux éditions Edward Elgar en 2022) sera intitulé Practical Guide to UNESCO’s 2003 Convention on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage: Interpretation and Practice (Guide pratique de la Convention de 2003 de l’UNESCO pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel : interprétation et pratique).

Alissandra CUMMINS Alissandra Cummins GCM, B.A. (Hons.), M.A., FMA, Director of the Barbados Museum & Historical Society, is an art historian who focuses on the visual culture of the Caribbean from 18th to mid 20th centuries. She is the Chairperson of the Barbados National Art Gallery as well as the Barbados National Commission for UNESCO. She also serves as occasional lecturer for The University of the West Indies’(UWI). Most recently she has served as The UWI’s Principal Investigator in an international consortium, EU-LAC-MUSEUMS examining Museums and Community: Concepts, Experiences, and Sustainability in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean (2016-2020).

Ms. Cummins has served in a number of key positions within the international relations, museum and heritage fields including: Chairperson - Executive Board of UNESCO and President - the International Council of Museums (ICOM), and also Chair - UNESCO’s Memory of the World Programme, and as President - the Museums Association of the Caribbean. She recently concluded a decade as Editor in Chief of the International Journal of Intangible Heritage (www.ijih.org) which was reshaped as a dynamic instrument in knowledge development and dissemination of ICH.

She is the newly elected President of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience, and also serves on the Advisory Board of the International Network of the Slave Route Project. She is a member of the International Association of Art Critics, ICOM, ICOMOS, and the Association of Caribbean Historians amongst other entities. She has played an instrumental role in developing new knowledge about the region’s museums, artistic and cultural heritage.

Plus récemment, elle a été la chercheure principale de l’UWI dans un consortium international, EU-LAC-MUSEUMS, qui examine les musées et la communauté : concepts, expériences et durabilité en Europe, en Amérique latine et dans les Caraïbes (2016-2020).

Mme Cummins a occupé un certain nombre de postes clés dans les domaines des relations internationales, des musées et du patrimoine, notamment : Présidente du Conseil exécutif de l’UNESCO, Présidente du Conseil international des musées (ICOM), Présidente du programme Mémoire du monde de l’UNESCO et Présidente de l’Association des musées des Caraïbes. Elle a récemment achevé une décennie en tant que rédactrice en chef de l’International Journal of Intangible Heritage (www.ijih.org), qui a été remodelé pour devenir un instrument dynamique de développement des connaissances et de diffusion du PCI.

Elle est la présidente nouvellement élue de la Coalition internationale des sites de conscience et siège également au Conseil consultatif du réseau international du projet La route de l’esclave. Elle est membre de l’Association internationale des critiques d’art, de l’ICOM, de l’ICOMOS et de l’Association des historiens des Caraïbes, entre autres entités. Elle a joué un rôle déterminant dans le développement de nouvelles connaissances sur les musées, le patrimoine artistique et culturel de la région.

Gustavo CAICEDO

With a trajectory of 27 years, Gustavo Caicedo started learning Nahuatl, an indigenous language of Mexico, then played a traditional sport for 12 years, participating in more than 40 tournaments and teaching over 2,000 persons how to play.He also wrote 11 children books on indigenous language and traditional sports and games. In 2005 adapted 60 traditional sports and games in the Country official elementary education curriculum, impacting over 25 million kids each year. Besides, as an artist, he wrote, produced, and directed shows. The first in 1998 to inaugurate the Maccabean Olympics and in 2001 an historical adaptation of the


Mayan Ball Game at the Xcaret theme park, became the most successful show in Mexico with over 18 million spectators to this day. In 2006 he was a founding member of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Encyclopedia, which was accredited to the 2003 Convention in 2010. He also designed an online inventory of ICH and established a Competency Management Committee, recognized by the government of Mexico, to certify and build courses with bearers of ICH to guarantee the transmission of knowledges and techniques to new generations. Furthermore, he created humanheritage, a certification brand to validate the authenticity and uniqueness of original handcrafts. He was elected to the Steering Committee of the ICH NGO Forum, for the 2020-2022 period, serving as President for the present year. And, this year, he just filed a request to register a geographical indication of a handcraft technique with the World Intellectual Property Organization.

Gustavo Caicedo est engagé en faveur du patrimoine culturel immatériel depuis 27 ans. Il a d’abord appris le nahuatl, langue autochtone du Mexique. Il a ensuite pratiqué un sport traditionnel pendant 12 ans, ce qui l’a amené à en enseigner les règles à plus de 2 000 personnes et à participer à plus de 40 tournois. En tant qu’artiste, il a écrit, produit et réalisé plusieurs programmes audiovisuels, le premier en 1998 pour l’ouverture des Maccabiades. En 2001, le spectacle historique sur les jeux de balles mayas au parc de loisirs Xcaret est devenu l’émission la plus regardée de l’histoire du Mexique à ce jour, avec plus de 18 millions de téléspectateurs. En 2006, il a été l’un des membres fondateurs de l’Encyclopédie du patrimoine culturel immatériel, ONG accréditée en 2010 dans le cadre de la Convention de 2003. Il a également conçu un inventaire du PCI en ligne et instauré un Comité de gestion des compétences, reconnu par le Gouvernement du Mexique pour l’élaboration et la certification, avec l’aide de détenteurs du PCI, de formations dédiées à la transmission de connaissances et de techniques aux jeunes générations. D’autre part, il a participé à la création de humanheritage, un label certifiant l’authenticité et le caractère unique des produits artisanaux. De plus, il a été élu au sein du Comité de pilotage du Forum des ONG-PCI pour la période 2020-2022 et il est président pour l’année en cours. Cette année, il a déposé un dossier d’enregistrement d’une indication géographique pour une technique artisanale auprès de l’Organisation mondiale de la propriété intellectuelle


Harriet DEACON

Harriet Deacon is a Visiting Research Fellow, Coventry University, UK and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Cape Town (South Africa), specializing in intangible heritage and intellectual property law. She trained in history and anthropology at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She has a PhD in History (Cambridge, 1994) and a MSc in Management of Intellectual Property Law (Queen Mary University of London, 2016). Since 2010, she has consulted to UNESCO on the global capacity building programme for implementing the 2003 UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and on developing a Results Map for evaluating the implementation of the Convention. She is a member of the global network of facilitators for the Convention. She has published widely in the fields of heritage, law and culture, including in the International Journal of Cultural Property, the International Journal of Heritage Studies, African Studies and Critical African Studies. Since 2018 she has worked on projects in India and Kyrgyzstan assisting communities using heritage-sensitive intellectual property and marketing strategies (HIPAMS) to explore the connections between intangible heritage and sustainable development. She is currently also a member of the Lancet Commission on Health and Human Rights.

Harriet Deacon est chercheuse invitée à l’Université de Coventry (Royaume-Uni) et chercheuse honoraire à l’Université du Cap (Afrique du Sud), spécialisée en patrimoine immatériel et en droit de la propriété intellectuelle. Elle a suivi des études d’histoire et d’anthropologie à l’Université du Cap (Afrique du Sud). Elle est titulaire d'un doctorat en histoire (Université de Cambridge, 1994) et d'une maîtrise en gestion des droits de propriété intellectuelle (Université Queen Mary de Londres, 2016). Depuis 2010, elle conseille l’UNESCO dans le cadre du programme de renforcement des capacités pour la mise en œuvre de la Convention de 2003 de l’UNESCO pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel, mais aussi pour l’élaboration d’une carte des résultats permettant d’évaluer la mise en œuvre de la Convention. Elle est membre du réseau mondial des facilitateurs pour la Convention. Elle est l’auteure de nombreuses publications dans les domaines du patrimoine, du droit et de la culture dans plusieurs revues : International Journal of Cultural Property, International Journal of Heritage Studies, African Studies, Critical African Studies, etc. Depuis 2018, elle participe à des projets en Inde et au Kirghizistan, dans le cadre desquels elle aide les communautés à utiliser les stratégies de marketing et de propriété intellectuelle sensibles au patrimoine afin d’explorer les liens entre patrimoine immatériel et développement durable. Actuellement, elle est également membre de la Commission Lancet sur la santé et les droits de l’homme.

Emily DRANI

Emily Drani is the former Executive Director and co-founder of the Cross-Cultural Foundation of Uganda, a non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the recognition of culture as vital for human development. She holds a Master of Philosophy in Development Studies with a focus on Endogenous Development and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration, with Communication Facilitation.

Emily has over 14 years professional experience in heritage development work which is informed by a ‘culture in development’ approach and ranges from cultural pluralism, cultural rights, managing diversity, heritage education, among others. She has worked with diverse stakeholders in the culture sector at different levels. At international level, Emily has contributed to the UNESCO 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage as a member, Vice Chairperson of the Evaluation Body and as a trained facilitator under the Convention. She is currently the Vice President of the International National Trusts Organisation, an international network committed to conserving and sustaining global tangible and intangible cultural heritage. At national level, Emily is a Board member of the Bayimba Cultural Foundation, Raising Voices, and the Advisory Board for the Kuonyesha Art Fund.

Emily has been involved a number of research projects and has co-authored publications on culture in respect to managing diversity, traditional governance, social protection, traditional medicine and conservation.

Emily Drani est la précédente Directrice exécutive et la cofondatrice de la Cross-Cultural Foundation of Uganda (Fondation interculturelle de l’Ouganda), ONG à but non lucratif œuvrant pour la reconnaissance du rôle essentiel de la culture pour le développement humain. Elle est titulaire d’une maîtrise en étude du développement axée sur le développement endogène, ainsi que d’une licence en administration publique axée sur la médiation.Emily travaille depuis plus de 14 ans dans le domaine du développement en lien avec le patrimoine, en adoptant une approche de la culture dans le développement et en abordant de nombreux thèmes, parmi lesquels le pluralisme culturel, les droits culturels, la gestion de la diversité et l’éducation au patrimoine. Elle a collaboré à différents niveaux avec plusieurs acteurs du secteur culturel. Au niveau international, Emily s’est engagée dans le cadre de la Convention de 2003 de l’UNESCO pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine


culturel immatériel en tant que membre, Vice-Présidente de l’Organe d’évaluation et facilitatrice qualifiée. Elle est aujourd’hui Vice-Présidente de l’International National Trusts Organisation (Organisation internationale des conservatoires nationaux), un réseau international dont l’objectif est de préserver et d’entretenir le patrimoine culturel matériel et immatériel à l’échelle mondiale. Au niveau national, Emily siège au Conseil d’administration de la fondation culturelle Bayimba et de l’ONG Raising Voices, ainsi qu’au Conseil consultatif du Kuonyesha Art Fund.

Elle a participé à plusieurs projets de recherche et à la rédaction de publications portant sur la gestion de la diversité, la gouvernance traditionnelle, la protection sociale, la médecine traditionnelle et la conservation.

Cécile DUVELLE

An expert in social and cultural anthropology, Cécile Duvelle joined UNESCO in 1989 working for UNESCO Publications, before joining the Office of the UNESCO Director-General Koïchiro Matsuura in 1999. As the Senior Attaché to the Office, she was responsible for topics relating to culture, as well as speechwriting for the Director-General and was heavily involved in drafting and negotiating several cultural normative instruments, including the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity, the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage and the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. As Chief of the Intangible Heritage Section and Secretary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage between October 2008 and December 2015, she headed up the early operational implementation of this Convention, including the first inscriptions on the Lists, and put in place a overall capacity-building strategy to effectively safeguard intangible cultural heritage.

Formée en anthropologie sociale et culturelle, Cécile Duvelle a rejoint l’UNESCO en 1989, où elle a travaillé aux Éditions UNESCO avant de rejoindre en 1999 le Cabinet du Directeur général de l’UNESCO, Koïchiro Matsuura. Attachée principale de Cabinet chargée du suivi des questions culturelles et de la rédaction des discours, elle a étroitement participé au processus d’élaboration et de négociation de plusieurs instruments normatifs dans le domaine de la culture, dont la Déclaration universelle de l’UNESCO pour la diversité culturelle, la Convention de 2003 pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel et la Convention de 2005 pour la promotion et la protection de la diversité des expressions culturelles. Chef de la Section du patrimoine immatériel et Secrétaire de la Convention pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel d’octobre 2008 à décembre 2015, elle a dirigé les débuts de la mise en œuvre opérationnelle de cette Convention, y compris les premières inscriptions sur les Listes, et a mis en place une stratégie mondiale de renforcement des capacités en vue d’une sauvegarde effective du patrimoine culturel immatériel.

Amélia FRAZÃO MOREIRA

Amélia Frazão Moreira has a PhD in Social Anthropology (ISCTE, Portugal) and she is associate professor at the Department of Anthropology at NOVA FCSH (NOVA School of Social Sciences and Humanities, Lisbon, Portugal), and senior researcher at CRIA (Centre for Research in Anthropology, Portugal). CRIA is an accredited NGO to provide advisory services to the Committee of the ICH Convention, since 2012. At CRIA, Amélia Frazão Moreira was president (October 2012 - October 2015), coordinator of the Environment, Sustainability and Ethnography Research Group (2016 – 2019) and she is currently head of the Environmental Anthropology and Behavioural Ecology Laboratory (LAE). She has represented CRIA at the ICH NGO Forum meetings and working groups between 2014 and 2021.

She was member of the Evaluation Body of the ICH Convention, as expert representative of States Parties non-Members of the Committee of the Electoral Group I - Western Europe and North America (2015 to 2018 cycles), and was Vice-President of the Evaluation Body in 2017. Since 2014, she is member of the Working Group for ICH of the Portuguese National Commission for UNESCO.

Her fields of research are Environmental Anthropology, Ethnoecology, and Ethnobiology and she is an expert on “knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe” ICH domain. She has coordinated or participated in different research and consultancy projects concerning the relationships between humans, non-humans, and the environment, in the context of heritage and of environmental conservation programs in Portugal and African countries (Guinea-Bissau, Mauritania, and Mozambique).

Amélia Frazão Moreira est titulaire d’un doctorat en anthropologie sociale (ISCTE, Portugal). Elle est professeure associée au département d’anthropologie de la NOVA FCSH (Faculté des sciences sociales et humaines NOVA, Lisbonne, Portugal) et chercheure principale au CRIA (Centre de recherche en anthropologie, Portugal). Au sein du CRIA, Amélia Frazão Moreira a été présidente (octobre 2012 - octobre 2015) puis coordinatrice du groupe de recherche Environnement, durabilité et ethnographie (2016 - 2019). Elle dirige actuellement le laboratoire d’anthropologie environnementale et


d’écologie comportementale (LAE). Elle a représenté le CRIA aux réunions et aux groupes de travail du Forum des ONG du PCI entre 2014 et 2021.

Elle a été membre de l’Organe d’évaluation de la Convention du PCI, en tant qu’experte représentant les États parties non-membres du Comité pour le groupe électoral I – Europe occidentale et Amérique du Nord (cycles 2015 à 2018), et a été vice-présidente de l’Organe d’évaluation en 2017. Depuis 2014, elle est membre du groupe de travail pour le PCI de la Commission nationale portugaise pour l’UNESCO.

Ses domaines de recherche sont l’anthropologie environnementale, l’ethnoécologie et l’ethnobiologie. Elle est experte du domaine du PCI « connaissances et pratiques concernant la nature et l’univers ». Elle a coordonné ou participé à différents projets de recherche et de conseil concernant les relations entre les humains, les non-humains et l’environnement, dans le cadre de programmes de conservation du patrimoine et de l’environnement au Portugal et dans des pays africains (Guinée-Bissau, Mauritanie et Mozambique).

Rehaf GASSAS

Ms. Rehaf Gassas is the Head of the Intangible Heritage Department at the Saudi Heritage Preservation Society (SHPS) since 2015. She obtained her master’s degree in World Heritage and Cultural Project Development from the University of Torino, Torino, Italy in 2014. In 2016, Ms. Gassas received a diploma in Intangible Heritage Management from Sharjah Heritage Institute, UAE. In addition, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts and Design majored in Conservation from the International Islamic University of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2010. In 2019, Ms. Gassas joined the UNESCO facilitator Intangible Cultural Heritage network.

Ms. Gassas has six years of experience in Saudi Arabia, specifically, leading the preparation of ICH nomination files, participated in preparing national capacity building workshops based on community participation with facilitators, committee member in building a framework for listing elements on the national inventory, and developing and managing numerous Intangible Cultural Heritage projects with various governmental sectors. Her experience with SHPS which is an accredited NGO aims to raise awareness towards the implementation of the 2003 Convention and to safeguard Intangible Cultural Heritage in Saudi Arabia.

Mme Rehaf Gassas dirige depuis 2015 le Département du patrimoine immatériel au sein de la Société saoudienne pour la préservation du patrimoine (Saudi Heritage Preservation Society, SHPS). Elle est titulaire d’une maîtrise en développement de projets culturels dans le domaine du patrimoine mondial, obtenue en 2014 à l’Université de Turin (Italie). En 2016, Mme Gassas a validé un diplôme en gestion du patrimoine immatériel à l’Institut du patrimoine de Sharjah. Elle possède également une licence en arts et design appliqués à la conservation, obtenue à l’Université internationale islamique de Kuala Lumpur (Malaisie) en 2010. Mme Gassas a rejoint en 2019 le réseau des facilitateurs de l’UNESCO dans le domaine du patrimoine culturel immatériel.

Mme Gassas a déjà acquis six ans d’expérience en Arabie saoudite, notamment en dirigeant la préparation des dossiers de candidature pour inscription sur les Listes du PCI, en participant avec d’autres facilitateurs à l’élaboration d’ateliers nationaux de renforcement des capacités axées sur la participation des communautés, en contribuant à l’établissement d’un cadre pour l’inclusion d’éléments dans l’inventaire national et en créant ou gérant plusieurs projets relatifs au PCI impliquant différents secteurs gouvernementaux. Dans son travail au sein de la SHPS, qui est une ONG accréditée, elle entend sensibiliser à la mise en œuvre de la Convention de 2003 et à la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel en Arabie saoudite.

Abdoul Aziz GUISSÉ

A historian by training, Abdoul Aziz Guissé was a history teacher in high schools before becoming a mobile pedagogical advisor in Senegal. After being brought in by the Ministry of Culture to develop a national inventory of cultural heritage in the early 2000s, he went on to become division head and, in this capacity, he played an active role in the preparation of nomination files for the World Heritage List and for “Kankurang, Manding Initiatory Rite” (2006-2008) and “Xooy, a Divination Ceremony Among the Serer of Senegal” (2013) for inscription on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. He was also responsible for the inventory and documentation (2004-2011) and, in this capacity, coordinated with the communities the preparation of nominations files of the Megalithic Circles of Senegambia in 2006, the Saloum Delta in 2011 and the Bassari Country in 2013 for the World Heritage list. In addition, he coordinated the development of the inventory of traditional music in Senegal from 2014 to 2015 with the assistance of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Fund.

As Director of the Cultural Heritage of Senegal, and national trainer, he launched the development of the national inventory of intangible cultural heritage in 2016 and took part in the work of the open-ended


intergovernmental working group on developing an overall results framework for the 2003 Convention. In addition to his government functions, he is a member of the African World Heritage Experts Network and has taught at the School of African Heritage (Benin) and the African World Heritage Fund (South Africa). He also took part in the educational coordination of French-speaking training courses for the inscription of World Heritage properties from 2007 to 2013 (Benin, Rwanda, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, etc.). Moreover, he is a member of the ICOMOS International Panel of Experts since 2016 for the evaluation of WH nominations. Besides, he received the distinction of Knight of the Order of Cultural Merit of Côte d’Ivoire in 2013 and Knight and Officer of the National Order of the Lion of Senegal in 2010 and 2017.

Historien de formation, Abdoul Aziz Guissé a été professeur d’histoire dans les lycées puis conseiller pédagogique itinérant au Sénégal. Impliqué par le Ministère de la culture dans le développement d’un inventaire national du patrimoine culturel au début des années 2000, il y deviendra chef de division et à ce titre, prend une part active dans l’élaboration des dossiers d’inscription pour la Liste du patrimoine mondial et ceux du « Kankurang, rite d’initiation mandingue » (2006-2008) et du « xooy, une cérémonie divinatoire chez les Serer du Sénégal » (2013) pour inscription sur la Liste représentative du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l’humanité.Il fut également chargé des inventaires et de la documentation (2004-2011) et, à ce titre, coordonna, avec les communautés, l’élaboration des dossiers de proposition d’inscription au patrimoine mondial des Cercles mégalithiques de la Sénégambie en 2006, du Delta du Saloum en 2011 et du Pays Bassari en 2013. En outre, il coordonna le développement de l’inventaire des musiques traditionnelles au Sénégal de 2014 à 2015 avec l’assistance du Fonds du patrimoine culturel immatériel.

En tant que Directeur du patrimoine culturel du Sénégal, et formateur national, il lança en 2016 le développement de l’inventaire national du patrimoine culturel immatériel et prit part aux travaux du groupe de travail intergouvernemental à composition non limitée pour l’élaboration du cadre global de résultats pour la Convention de 2003. Outre ses fonctions gouvernementales, il est membre du réseau des experts du patrimoine mondial africain et a enseigné à l’École du patrimoine africain (Bénin) et au Fonds du patrimoine mondial africain (Afrique du sud). Il a également pris part à la coordination pédagogique des cours francophones de formation pour l’inscription des biens au patrimoine mondial de 2007 à 2013 (Bénin, Rwanda, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire etc.). D’autre part, il est membre du Panel des experts de l’ICOMOS International depuis 2016 pour l’évaluation des propositions d’inscription au PM. Par ailleurs, il a reçu la distinction de Chevalier de l’Ordre du mérite culturel de la Côte d’Ivoire en 2013 et de Chevalier et Officier de l’Ordre national du Lion du Sénégal en 2010 et 2017.

Hani HAYAJNEH

Hani Hayajneh is a professor at and dean of the Faculty of Archaeology and Anthropology at Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan. He gained his PhD degree in 1998 from the Faculty of Cultural and Historical Studies at the Free University of Berlin (Germany). He has published a large number of research papers, books, articles and reviews on the cultural heritage of the Levant and Arabia, e.g. the first book written in Arabic about the challenges and perspectives of safeguarding ICH. He joined the UNESCO network since 2009 and became a member of the UNESCO ICH capacity building team since 2010. He participated in implementing the ICH Convention in different Arab countries with special focus on countries in crisis and held workshops on ICH inventorying, safeguarding plans, and nomination. He was nominated as a voluntary consultant of the Jordanian Ministry of Culture for intangible cultural heritage issues. He established and chaired the Princess Basma Bin Talal for Intangible Cultural Heritage and the UNESCO Chair for Heritage and Sustainable Tourism. He received scholarships from renowned foundations, e.g. Fulbright, Alexander von Humboldt, CNRS, DAAD, Juynboll Foundation etc and worked as a visiting scholar in different international institutions, including Harvard University, Philipps University, FU-Berlin, Sorbonne University, Collège de France etc. Since January 2016 he was nominated as an Ambassador Scientist by the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.

Hani Hayajneh est professeur et doyen de la Faculté d’archéologie et d’anthropologie de l’Université Yarmouk à Irbid, en Jordanie. Il a obtenu son doctorat de la Faculté d’études culturelles et historiques de l’Université libre de Berlin (Allemagne) en 1998. Il a publié de nombreux travaux de recherche, livres, articles et analyses sur le patrimoine culturel du Proche-Orient et de l’Arabie saoudite. Il est notamment l’auteur du premier livre en langue arabe sur les défis et perspectives de la sauvegarde du PCI. Il a rejoint le réseau de l’UNESCO en 2009 et a intégré l’équipe de renforcement des capacités en PCI de l’UNESCO en 2010. Il a participé à la mise en œuvre de la Convention pour le PCI dans différents pays arabes, en accordant une importance particulière aux pays en crise, et a animé des ateliers sur les inventaires du PCI, les plans de sauvegarde et les candidatures. Il a été nommé conseiller volontaire auprès du Ministère jordanien de la culture pour les questions relatives au patrimoine culturel immatériel. Il a fondé et présidé le Centre Princesse Basma Bin Talal pour le patrimoine culturel immatériel ainsi que la chaire UNESCO sur le patrimoine culturel et le tourisme durable. Il a reçu des bourses de plusieurs organismes célèbres, dont la Commission Fulbright, la Fondation Alexander von Humboldt, le CNRS, le DAAD et la Fondation Juynboll. Il


a travaillé comme chercheur honoraire dans plusieurs institutions internationales, parmi lesquelles l’Université d’Harvard, l’Université Philipps, l’Université libre de Berlin, l’Université de la Sorbonne et le Collège de France. En janvier 2016, il a été nommé Ambassadeur scientifique par la Fondation allemande Alexander von Humboldt.

Masami IWASAKI

Anthropologist, focus on the issues re. indigenous peoples in Japan and Canada. Taught at universities in Japan and Canada. In 2015 and 2016, a member of the Evaluation Body for the Convention for Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Chair of the Evaluation Body in 2016.

Masami Iwasaki est anthropologue, spécialiste des questions relatives aux peuples autochtones du Japon et du Canada. Elle a enseigné dans plusieurs universités au Japon et au Canada. Marc JACOBS

Marc Jacobs (PhD) is a full-time professor critical heritage studies at the University of Antwerp and head of the department “heritage studies” and “conservation/restoration” in the Faculty of Design Sciences at the University of Antwerp. There he is at present coordinating the establishment of new heritage master and PhD programs (including safeguarding intangible heritage). He is also part-time associate professor heritage studies and, since 2014, holder of the UNESCO Chair on critical heritage studies and the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium). He is a facilitator for the global network of capacity building on the 2003 UNESCO Convention. From 2008 to 2019 he was the director of the accredited NGO FARO. Flemish Interface for Cultural Heritage, Brussels. Before that he was director of VCV (the Flemish Centre for the study of popular culture (1999-2007)), professor heritage studies at the KUBrussel (2006-2007) and researcher at the European University Institute in Florence, the Universities of Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp. Samuel “Boots” KENNEDY

Kennedy “Boots” Samuel is a Caribbean cultural activist, popular performing artist, and educator based in the island of Saint Lucia. Amongst many other education and culture related positions, he has served as the Executive Director of the two premiere cultural institutions of the island: The Cultural Development Foundation (CDF), and the Folk Research Centre (FRC). His professional qualifications include two master’s degrees in education and Arts Administration, and two Post-Graduate Diplomas in Language Education and Management of Cultural Projects. Boots is the recipient of numerous national awards for his outstanding work and contribution to cultural development in his homeland Saint Lucia and in the wider Caribbean region. His passion lies particularly in the areas of native language preservation, folk arts, popular theatre, cultural

research and education. He is an outstanding theatre actor and director, and has performed and represented Saint Lucia extensively around the Caribbean, in the U.S.A., Canada, England and Taiwan. One notable contribution is his many years of leadership and action in the development of Popular Community Theatre in Saint Lucia and the wider Eastern Caribbean region. Kennedy “Boots” Samuel currently serves as a Lecturer of Communication Studies and Theatre Arts at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in Saint Lucia.

Kennedy « Boots » Samuel est un activiste culturel des Caraïbes, un artiste populaire et un éducateur établi sur l’île de Sainte-Lucie. Entre autres fonctions liées à l'éducation et à la culture, il a notamment été Directeur exécutif des deux principales institutions culturelles de l'île : la Fondation pour le développement culturel (Cultural Development Foundation, CDF) et le Centre de recherche populaire (Folk Research Centre, FRC). Ses qualifications professionnelles comprennent deux maîtrises, en éducation et en administration dans le secteur artistique, ainsi que deux diplômes de troisième cycle en enseignement des langues et en gestion de projets culturels. Boots a reçu de nombreux prix nationaux pour son travail exceptionnel et sa contribution au développement culturel de sa patrie, Sainte-Lucie, et de la région des Caraïbes. Il se passionne particulièrement pour la préservation des langues autochtones, les arts populaires, le théâtre populaire, la recherche culturelle et l'éducation. Acteur de théâtre et metteur en scène hors pair, il a représenté Sainte-Lucie en jouant de nombreuses pièces dans les Caraïbes, aux États-Unis, au Canada, en Angleterre et à Taiwan. Il a aussi œuvré, pendant de nombreuses années, au développement du théâtre communautaire populaire à Sainte-Lucie et dans la région des Caraïbes orientales. Kennedy « Boots » Samuel est actuellement chargé de cours en études de communication et en arts du théâtre au Sir Arthur Lewis Community College de Sainte-Lucie.

Léonce KI

Léonce KI a un parcours académique en gestion du patrimoine culturel avec une double expérience en gestion du patrimoine culturel immatériel et matériel. Il est le Secrétaire Exécutif de l’ONG ASAMA, ONG accréditée en 2012 et 2017. Il siège comme membre représentant ASAMA à l’organe d’évaluation pour les cycles 2019-2022. Au niveau national, Léonce KI a été membre du comité de pilotage du projet d’inventaire national du PCI au Burkina Faso. Il a été à ce titre facilitateur national avant de rejoindre en 2019 le réseau global des facilitateurs. Il est également membre de la commission technique du Système des trésors humains vivants. Léonce KI occupe actuellement le poste de Directeur des sites classés/Patrimoine mondial au ministère en charge de la culture du Burkina Faso. Il a en charge la gestion des sites culturels inscrits sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial et l’élaboration de nouvelles propositions d’inscriptions. De 2016 à 2019, il a coordonné avec succès l’inscription des sites de la métallurgie ancienne du fer du Burkina Faso sur la Liste du patrimoine mondial. En tant que point focal national de la Convention de 1972, il coordonne l’élaboration du rapport périodique. Enseignant de fonction, Léonce KI enseigne au Département d’Histoire et Archéologie à l’Université Joseph KI-ZERBO du Burkina Faso. Il intervient également comme enseignant du patrimoine culturel dans d’autres institutions de formation au Burkina Faso.

Léonce Ki boasts an extensive academic background in cultural heritage management with further experience in both tangible and intangible cultural heritage management. He is the Executive Secretary of ASAMA, an NGO accredited in 2012 and 2017. He represents ASAMA on the Evaluation Body for the 2019-2022 cycles. At the national level, Léonce Ki was a member of the Steering Committee for the national ICH inventory project in Burkina Faso. He worked as a national facilitator in this field before joining the global network of facilitators in 2019. He is also a member of the Living Human Treasures Programme's technical committee. Léonce Ki is currently Director of Heritage Sites/World Heritage at the Ministry for Culture in Burkina Faso. He manages cultural sites inscribed on the World Heritage List and preparing new nominations. Between 2016 and 2019, he successfully coordinated the inscription of the Ancient Ferrous Metallurgy Sites of Burkina Faso on the World Heritage List. As national focal point for the 1972 Convention, he coordinates the preparation of the Periodic Report. Léonce Ki teaches at the Department of History and Archaeology at the Joseph Ki-Zerbo University in Burkina Faso. He also teaches cultural heritage in various training institutions across Burkina Faso.

Eva KUMINKOVÁ

Eva Kuminková is an ethnologist currently working as a deputy director general in the National Open Air Museum, Czech Republic. She studied at Masaryk University in Brno where she also earned her doctorate in 2016. After finishing MA in 2009, she commenced work at the Wallachian Open Air Museum as a curator of traditional textile collection. Between 2011–2014 she worked in the National Institute of Folk Culture, Strážnice. Her main agenda included implementation of the 2003 Convention for Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage on the national level. She represented Czechia in the Intergovernmental Committee (2011–2014), participated in maintaining the Czech national inventory of ICH, coordinated safeguarding measures concerning elements inscribed on the Representative List, participated in their implementation, engaged in documentation of the inscribed and non-inscribed elements, prepared


background materials related to the obligations of the State Party towards UNESCO and partook in preparation of new Representative List nomination files. In 2011, she represented the accredited NGO Czech Ethnological Society in the Consultative Body, in 2018 and 2019 in the Evaluation Body. Besides, she participated in evaluation of the files during the entire membership period of CES (2016–2019). In 2018 she was elected a rapporteur of the Evaluation Body. Eva Kuminková is a member of the Main Committee of the Czech Ethnological Society and of several advisory bodies at the Ministry of Culture of Czechia, including the National Council for Traditional Folk Culture.

Elle a étudié à l’Université Masaryk à Brno, où elle a obtenu son doctorat en 2016. En 2011, elle a représenté la Société ethnologique tchèque, une ONG accréditée, au sein de l'Organe consultatif, puis en 2018 et 2019 elle a été membre de l'Organe d'évaluation. En outre, elle a participé à l'évaluation des dossiers pendant toute la durée du mandat de la Société ethnologique tchèque (2016-2019). En 2018, elle a été élue Rapporteure de l'Organe d'évaluation. Eva Kuminková est membre du Comité principal de la Société ethnologique tchèque et de plusieurs organes consultatifs du Ministère tchèque de la culture, dont le Conseil national de la culture populaire traditionnelle.

Adriana MOLANO

Anthropologue spécialisée dans les politiques culturelles et la gestion des arts, expérience de travail dans l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre de politiques publiques participatives dans les questions culturelles et les projets d’inclusion sociale et de développement durable. Coordination des projets visant à renforcer le tissu social du point de vue des savoirs culturels et traditionnels, dans le cadre du développement durable avec les communautés afro, autochtones et paysannes. Au niveau international, le développement du conseil pour l’Unesco, professeur de cours virtuels sur les politiques publiques et spécialiste de la Stratégie mondiale pour le renforcement des capacités nationales de sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel (PCI) en Amérique latine et dans les Caraïbes. Elle a été coordinatrice du groupe du patrimoine culturel immatériel de la Direction du patrimoine du ministère colombien de la Culture de 2008 à 2015. Et directrice générale du Centre régional pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel en Amérique latine, Unesco Catégorie 2 Centre, de 2017 à 2020.

Elle possède une connaissance et une expérience en gestion des institutions, la coordination des programmes, la gestion d’équipes de travail ; excellentes compétences pour les relations institutionnelles, interculturelles et intersectorielles ; une vaste expertise en relations avec les gouvernements et le secteur public, tant à l’échelle nationale qu’internationale.

An anthropologist specialized in cultural policies and arts management, Adriana Molano has experience working in the development and implementation of participatory public policies on cultural issues as well as social inclusion and sustainable development projects. She has led projects aimed at strengthening the social fabric, particularly in terms of cultural and traditional knowledge, within the context of sustainable development with Afro-descendant, indigenous and peasant communities. At the international level, Adriana has developed consultancy services for UNESCO, teaches virtual courses on public policy and is a specialist in the global capacity-building strategy for safeguarding intangible cultural heritage (ICH) in Latin America and the Caribbean. She was the coordinator of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Group of the Heritage Branch of the Ministry of Culture of Colombia from 2008 to 2015. Adriana Molano was Director General of the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Latin America, a Category 2 centre under the auspices of UNESCO, from 2017 to 2020.

She has knowledge and experience in institutional management, programme coordination and managing working teams; she boasts excellent skills in institutional, intercultural and cross-sector relationships as well as extensive expertise in government and public sector relations, both nationally and internationally.


Soledad MUJICA

As a communicator specializing in the promotion and diffusion of intangible cultural heritage, Ms Soledad Mujica is Director of Intangible Heritage at the Ministry of Culture of Peru and actively represented her government in the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage from 2006 to 2010. Author of many publications on traditional dance in Peru, she has more than thirty years of experience in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage.

Professionnelle de la communication spécialisée dans la promotion et la diffusion du patrimoine culturel immatériel, Mme Soledad Mujica est directrice du patrimoine immatérielau Ministère péruvien de la Culture. Elle a activement représenté son pays au sein du Comité intergouvernemental de sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel de 2006 à 2010. Auteur de nombreuses publications sur la danse traditionnelle au Pérou, elle a plus de trente ans d’expérience dans la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel.

Blanche N’GUESSAN Blanche N’Guessan is a sociologist, museologist and cultural heritage manager. Since 2012, she has been Director of Cultural Heritage in Côte d’Ivoire. In this capacity, she coordinated the emergency international assistance project “Inventory of the intangible cultural heritage present in Côte d’Ivoire in view of its urgent safeguarding”, implemented from 2015 to 2018, following the political and military crisis that the country experienced between 2011 and 2012. As a focal point of the 2003 Convention at the national level, she assumed the duties of member of the drafting committee of the nomination file for ‘Gbofé Afounkaha, the music of the transverse trumps of the Tagbana community’ on the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of rgent Safeguarding, and also the duties of member of the scientific committee for the project entitled “Inventory of Inter-Ethnic Alliances and Other Traditional Mechanisms for Conflict Prevention and Resolution” initiated by the UNESCO Office in Abidjan. She also served as a member of the drafting committee for the nomination file for "Zaouli, popular music and dance of the Guro communities in Côte d’Ivoire" on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. She has also participated in training courses by UNESCO’s global capacity-building programme and, since 2012, has participated in the sessions of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Besides, she is a member of the network of facilitators of the 2003 Convention in Côte d'Ivoire.

Blanche N’Guessan est sociologue, muséologue et gestionnaire du patrimoine culturel. Depuis 2012, elle occupe les fonctions de Directrice du patrimoine culturel en Côte d’Ivoire. À ce titre, elle a coordonné le projet d’assistance internationale d’urgence « Inventaire du patrimoine culturel immatériel présent en Côte d’Ivoire en vue de sa sauvegarde urgente » mis en œuvre de 2015 à 2018, suite à la crise politique et militaire traversé par le pays entre 2011 et 2012. En tant que point focal de la Convention de 2003 au niveau national, Elle a assumé les fonctions de membre du comité de rédaction du dossier d’inscription du « Gbofé d’Afounkaha, la musique des trompes traversières de la communauté Tagbana » sur la Liste du patrimoine culturel immatériel nécessitant une sauvegarde urgente, et également celles de membre du comité scientifique du projet « Inventaire des alliances interethniques et autres mécanismes traditionnels de prévention et de résolution de conflits » initié par le Bureau de l’UNESCO à Abidjan. Elle a par ailleurs été membre du comité de rédaction du dossier de candidature pour inscription du « Zaouli, musique et danse populaires des communautés gouro de Côte d’Ivoire » sur la Liste représentative du patrimoine culturel immatériel. Elle a également participé à des formations du programme global de renforcement des capacités de l’UNESCO et depuis 2012, participe aux sessions du Comité intergouvernemental de sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel. D’autre part, elle est membre du réseau des facilitateurs de la Convention de 2003 en Côte d’Ivoire

Meg NÖMGÅRD Meg Nömgård is the director of the Land of Legends (Sagobygden) which is run by the NGO; The Storytelling Network of Kronoberg, an accredited NGO since 2014. The Land of Legends work with oral storytelling tradition and was inscribed on the Register of Good Safeguarding Practices in 2018, Meg was one of the writers of the nomination file. She is a museologist, historian and storyteller, with university studies from Sweden, UK and South Africa. In 2014 she took part in UNESCO Training-of-trainers workshop: implementing the UNESCO 2003 Convention at national level, and following year continued with UNESCO Training-of-trainers workshop: on community-based inventorying. She is Sweden’s representative in the work with “Nordic Safeguarding Practices” (https://www.nordicsafeguardingpractices.org/) and one of the founders of The Nordic and Baltic network on ICH. She is also active in the Sweden’s national implementation work of the 2003 Convention as a representative of the civil society. For her work with the Convention she was in 2016 awarded the Swedish UNESCO Prize. In November 2018 she became a member of the ICH NGO Forum Steering Committee, for the 2018-2020 period, representing Group 1, Western Europe and North America. In December 2019 she was elected chair of the ICH NGO Forum for the year 2020.


Meg Nömgård dirige le programme « Terre des légendes » (Sagobygden), géré par le Réseau des conteurs du Kronoberg », une ONG accréditée depuis 2014. Le programme « Terre des légendes » porte sur la tradition orale des contes et a été inscrit au Registre de bonnes pratiques de sauvegarde en 2018. Meg a participé à la rédaction du dossier de candidature. Muséologue, historienne et conteuse, elle a étudié en Suède, au Royaume-Uni et en Afrique du Sud. En 2014, elle a participé à l’atelier de formation de formateurs de l’UNESCO sur la mise en œuvre de la Convention de 2003 au niveau national. L’année suivante, elle a poursuivi avec l’atelier de formation de formateurs de l’UNESCO sur l’élaboration d’inventaires avec la participation des communautés. Elle est la représentante de la Suède pour le projet Nordic Safeguarding Practices (https://www.nordicsafeguardingpractices.org/) et a cofondé le Réseau des pays nordiques et des pays baltes pour le PCI. En tant que représentante de la société civile, elle œuvre également en Suède pour la mise en œuvre nationale de la Convention de 2003. En 2016, elle a reçu le Prix suédois de l'UNESCO pour son travail avec la Convention. En novembre 2018, elle est devenue membre du Comité directeur du Forum des ONG-PCI, pour la période 2018-2020, où elle représentait le Groupe 1, Europe de l’Ouest et Amérique du Nord. En décembre 2019, elle a été élue Présidente du Forum des ONG-PCI pour l’année 2020.

Annika NORDSTRÖM

Ms. NORDSTRÖM, Annika (born 1954), Sweden, Archive Manager at the Institute for Language and Folklore, responsible for the institute's work with The UNESCO Convention of The Intangible Cultural Heritage in Sweden. PhD in Ethnology. Between 1979 and 1997, consultant and producer at a regional music organization. Responsible for documentation of traditional songs and folk music and for bringing the material to life through writings, phonograms, performances, festivals and various music projects for children and adults. Collaboration with non-profit organizations, municipalities, study associations and county museums. Also active as a folk singer and musician. Since 1978, lecturer, mainly in folkloristics, methodology and narratology at the Department of Ethnology, University of Gothenburg. 1997–2002, PhD employment. The thesis from 2002 examines singing and vocal repertoire of five siblings during the 20 th

century, and its uses and meanings in everyday life. Other publications e.g. are within the field of folkloristics, orality and literacy, ballads, life stories, performances, the ritual year and ICH. Since 2002, at The Institute for Language and Folklore, a Swedish government agency with a focus on dialects, language planning, names and folklore. The Institute’s collections document major components of Sweden’s intangible cultural heritage. From 2005, head of the Department and Archive in Göteborg. From 2011, responsible for the Institute´s assignment to implement the ICH-Convention in Sweden, e.g. inventorying and collaboration with a number of organizations involved in the Convention. Have also followed the International work. Member of the Swedish Committee for the World Memory Program.

Mme Annika NORDSTRÖM (née en 1954 en Suède) est Responsable des archives à l’Institut de la langue et du folklore et elle est aussi responsable du travail réalisé en Suède par l’Institut dans le cadre de la Convention de l'UNESCO pour la sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel. Elle est titulaire d’un doctorat en ethnologie. Entre 1979 et 1997, elle a été consultante et productrice pour une organisation de musique régionale. Elle a également été responsable de la documentation des chansons traditionnelles et de la musique populaire et de la mise en valeur de ce matériel par le biais de textes, d’enregistrements, de spectacles, de festivals et de différents projets musicaux pour les enfants et les adultes. Elle a collaboré avec des organismes à but non lucratif, des municipalités, des associations d’étude et des musées locaux. Elle est aussi chanteuse et musicienne, spécialisée dans le répertoire populaire. Depuis 1978, elle est chargée de cours, principalement en folkloristique, méthodologie et narratologie, au Département d'ethnologie de l'Université de Göteborg. De 1997 à 2002, elle a préparé son doctorat. Sa thèse, présentée en 2002, examine le répertoire vocal et de chant de cinq frères et sœurs au cours du XX e siècle, ainsi que ses utilisations et significations dans la vie quotidienne. Elle est l’auteure d'autres publications, par exemple dans le domaine de la folkloristique, de l'oralité et de l'écriture, des ballades, des récits de vie, des spectacles, de l'année rituelle et du PCI. Depuis 2002, elle travaille à l'Institut de la langue et du folklore, une agence gouvernementale suédoise axée sur les dialectes, la planification linguistique, les noms et le folklore. Les collections de l'Institut documentent les principaux éléments du patrimoine culturel immatériel de la Suède. Depuis 2005, elle dirige le Département des archives et de la recherche à Göteborg. Depuis 2011, elle est également chargée, au nom de l’Institut, de mettre en œuvre la Convention pour le PCI en Suède, ce qui inclut notamment l'élaboration de l’inventaire et la collaboration avec un certain nombre d'organisations impliquées dans la Convention. Elle a également participé à des travaux internationaux. Elle est membre du Comité suédois pour le programme « Mémoire du monde ».

Pier Luigi PETRILLO

Full Professor of Comparative Cultural Heritage Law at the University of Rome Unitelma Sapienza and UNESCO CHAIR Professor on Intangible Cultural Heritage and Comparative Law. Since 2006 He took part at UNESCO ICH and WH governing bodies official sessions as an expert appointed by the Italian


Government. From 2011 to 2012 he was member of the Subsidiary Body of ICH Convention. During the 3 rd

Ordinary session of ICH IC he co-chaired the working group set up within the Committee for the development of guidelines for the use of the ICH-UNESCO emblem. During the 6 th Ordinary session he chaired the sub-group set up within the Committee for proposing amendments to Operational Directives for including specific references to cultural traditions related to food and nutrition. He has also took part to several UNESCO technical meetings as the Open-ended intergovernmental working group on the right scale or scope of an element; Linking Biological and Cultural Diversity in Europe - The 1st European Conference for the Implementation of the UNESCO-SCBD Joint Programme on Biological and Cultural Diversity; Consultative Expert Meeting on WH and Sustainable Development. During the 13th Ordinary session of the ICH IC He was elected member of Evaluation Body of ICH Convention from 2019 until 2022. He is author of 5 books, editor of 4 volumes and author of over 120 essays. The last book is “The Legal Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage. A Comparative Perspective”, published by Springer in 2019.

Il est professeur titulaire de droit comparé du patrimoine culturel à l'Université Unitelma Sapienza à Rome et professeur titulaire de la chaire UNESCO sur le patrimoine culturel immatériel et le droit comparé. Depuis 2006, il participe aux sessions officielles des organes directeurs du PCI et du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO en tant qu'expert désigné par le Gouvernement italien. De 2011 à 2012, il a été membre de l'organe subsidiaire de la Convention pour le PCI. Au cours de la 3e session ordinaire du Comité intergouvernemental du PCI, il a coprésidé le groupe de travail créé au sein du Comité pour l'élaboration des Directives opérationnelles régissant l'utilisation de l'emblème de la Convention. Kristiina PORILA

Kristiina Porila is an ethnologist currently working at the UNESCO Chair on Applied Studies of ICH (University of Tartu, Estonia - www.flku.ut.ee/en/unesco-chair). She has been involved in implementing the Convention since 2008. On the national level in Estonia she has been previously working with projects such as a capacity-building programme, the national inventory and various awareness raising activities. Kristiina Porila has been able to follow the use and development of international listing mechanisms both on national and international levels being part of the work of the Subsidiary (2009-2010) and Consultative (2014) Bodies and has participating in the process of compiling three nomination files (as a team member or a consultant). She is also part of the network of facilitators.

Hanna SCHREIBER

Hanna Schreiber, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, Poland. She holds three MA diplomas: in law, in political science and in history. She was a member and a Deputy President of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Board in Poland and head of the Working Group on Legal and Strategic Aspects of ICH Safeguarding of this board (2013-2018); main organizer and co-author of the first nomination from Poland to the Representative List (Szopka tradition in Kraków, 2018). She was elected in September 2018 for the position of co-coordinator (together with Cristina Clopot) of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Researchers Network (within the Association of Critical Heritage Studies). Elected in February 2020 to the position of the President of the ICH Board of the Capital City of


Warsaw. Hanna was member of Polish official delegations to statutory ICH meetings in France (GA 2016, GA 2018), Ethiopia (2016), Korea (2017) and Mauritius (2018). She represented accredited NGO: Association of Folk Artists, in Colombia (2019).

Hanna Schreiber, titulaire d’un doctorat, est professeure adjointe à la Faculté de sciences politiques et d’études internationales à l’Université de Varsovie, en Pologne. Elle détient trois maîtrises : en droit, en sciences politiques et en histoire. Elle a été membre et Vice-Présidente du Conseil du patrimoine culturel immatériel en Pologne et directrice du groupe de travail sur les aspects juridiques et stratégiques de la sauvegarde du PCI de ce Conseil (2013-2018) ; elle a été l’organisatrice principale et coauteure de la première candidature de la Pologne pour inscription sur la Liste représentative (la tradition de la crèche (szopka) à Cracovie, 2018). En septembre 2018, elle a été élue co-coordinatrice (avec Cristina Clopot) du Réseau des chercheurs sur le patrimoine culturel immatériel (au sein de l'Association des études critiques du patrimoine). En février 2020, elle a été élue Présidente du Conseil du PCI de la capitale Varsovie. Hanna a été membre des délégations officielles polonaises aux réunions statutaires du PCI en France (AG 2016, AG 2018), en Éthiopie (2016), en Corée (2017) et à Maurice (2018). Elle a représenté une ONG accréditée, l’Association des artistes folkloriques, en Colombie (2019).

Ahmed SKOUNTI

Ahmed Skounti est anthropologue à l’Institut national des sciences de l’archéologie et du patrimoine (INSAP, Rabat). Il est titulaire d’un doctorat en anthropologie de l’École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) de Paris. Il est expert consultant de l’UNESCO sur les questions liées à la Convention du patrimoine mondial (1972) et à la Convention du patrimoine culturel immatériel (2003). Il a notamment participé à l’élaboration de cette dernière convention. Il a présidé l’Organe d’évaluation du Comité intergouvernemental de sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel en 2015 et 2017. Il est membre du Conseil consultatif du Centre régional arabe du Patrimoine mondial (Bahreïn) et de l'Organe consultatif du Centre international de recherche sur le patrimoine culturel immatériel dans la Région Asie-Pacifique (IRCI), Japon. Il est membre de l’Association for Critical Heritage Studies (ACHS). Il a reçu le Prix international Jeonju (Corée du Sud) pour la promotion du patrimoine culturel immatériel en 2019.

Ahmed Skounti is an anthropologist, Professor at the Institut national des sciences de l’archéologie et du patrimoine (INSAP, Rabat). Rieks SMEETS

Rieks Smeets has a PhD in linguistics and taught and studied languages of the Caucasus area at Leiden University (Netherlands). Most of his fieldwork took place among local communities in Turkey. He was also active in the field of language policies. In 2001 he became secretary-general of the Netherlands National Commission for UNESCO and from 2003 till 2008 he was head of UNESCO's ITH Section, from 2006 as secretary of the 2003 Convention. Since his retirement, he was involved for about seven years in the section's capacity-building programme. He worked primarily in Central Asia, Eastern Europe and in Scandinavian countries. He also participated in a number of WIPO activities. At present he incidentally contributes to publications on ICH and facilitates workshops in the field of ICH, while he has also been assisting, from the side-line, community representatives and authorities when they prepared or finalized nomination files. Those were instructive experiences. He regularly assists in living heritage manifestations in the province of Limburg, where he was born. For the moment he is again based in Leiden.

Rieks Smeets est titulaire d’un doctorat en linguistique et a enseigné et étudié les langues du Caucase à l’Université de Leiden (Pays-Bas). C’est dans les communautés locales de Turquie qu'il a effectué la plupart de ses travaux sur le terrain. Il a également été actif dans le domaine des politiques linguistiques. En 2001, il est devenu Secrétaire général de la Commission nationale des Pays Bas pour l’UNESCO. De 2003 à 2008, il a dirigé la Section du PCI de l’UNESCO et en 2006 il devenu Secrétaire de la Convention de 2003. Après son départ à la retraite, il a été impliqué pendant environ sept ans dans le programme de renforcement des capacités de cette section. Il a principalement travaillé en Asie centrale, en Europe de l’Est et dans les pays scandinaves. Il a également participé à de nombreuses activités de l’OMPI. Aujourd'hui, il contribue occasionnellement à des publications sur le PCI et anime des ateliers dans le domaine du PCI, tout en conseillant, en arrière-plan, les représentants et autorités des communautés dans la préparation ou la finalisation de leurs dossiers de candidature. Toutes ces expériences se sont avérées instructives. Il assiste


régulièrement à des représentations du patrimoine vivant dans la province du Limbourg dont il est originaire. Pour le moment, il réside à nouveau à Leiden.

Annie TOHME TABET

An anthropologist and professor within the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of St. Joseph University, Beirut, Annie Tohme Tabet led the Department of Sociology and Anthropology from 1999 to 2008. She has a number of research projects and publications under her belt, and, as an expert facilitator for the global network of UNESCO-approved intangible cultural heritage facilitators, she has developed several activities in the intangible cultural heritage field. She participated in the training of trainers workshop for facilitators from the Arab region organized by UNESCO in Abu Dhabi (2011) and led the first phase of the MedLiHer project in Lebanon before going on to coordinate the activities of the third phase in Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt (2011-2012). She jointly facilitated several training workshops on the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage in the context of the 2003 Convention in Lebanon, Paris, Jordan, Qatar, in the Autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq, in Dubai, for Syria in Lebanon, and for Iraq in Jordan, in Egypt and in Kuwait (2011-2019). She participated as an independent expert in the work of the Consultative Body of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2013 and 2014. She has conducted three capacity-building needs assessment missions for the Ministry of Culture in the Autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq (2013) and in Egypt (2015 and 2018). She has also participated in several capacity-building meetings and workshops in Abu Dhabi (UNESCO, 2011), Beijing (UNESCO, 2012), Doha (UNESCO 2013), Kuwait (UNESCO/Alecso, 2014), Paris (UNESCO, 2015), (Bangkok, 2017), Paris (UNESCO, 2019). She participated in two projects initiated by the Lebanese NATCOM and the UNESCO Beirut Office on “Introduction of Zajal Poetry in Schools” (2016) and “Learn with Intangible Cultural Heritage for a Sustainable Future. Pilot project in four Lebanese schools” (2018-2019). From 2016 to 2019, sherepresented Lebanon on the Intergovernmental Committee.

Elle a participé à deux projets initiés par la NATCOM libanaise et le Bureau de l’UNESCO à Beyrouth sur l’ « Introduction de la poésie Zajal dans les écoles » (2016) et « Apprendre avec le patrimoine culturel immatériel pour un avenir durable. Projet pilote dans quatre écoles libanaises » (2018-2019). De 2016 à 2019, elle représentait le Liban au Comité Intergouvernemental.

Anita VAIVADE

Anita Vaivade has been Adjunct Professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture since 2012. After master degrees in sociology and legal sciences, she defended her doctoral thesis cum laude on the Conceptualisation of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Law in 2011. Her research has been conducted in parallel to professional responsibilities as Culture, Communication and Information Sector Director at the Latvian National Commission for UNESCO (2006–2012). Anita Vaivade led the Latvian delegation to the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage from 2013 to 2015, and since 2017 is leading the UNESCO Chair on Intangible Cultural Heritage Policy and Law at the Latvian Academy of Culture. Anita Vaivade joined the UNESCO global network of facilitators in the field of intangible cultural heritage in 2017. She has co-led the ‘Osmosis’ research project, an international comparative study on intangible cultural heritage national legislation (2014-2019).

Anita Vaivade a dirigé la délégation lettonne au Comité intergouvernemental de l'UNESCO de sauvegarde du patrimoine culturel immatériel de 2013 à 2015 et préside depuis 2017 la chaire UNESCO sur la politique et le droit du patrimoine culturel immatériel à l'Académie lettonne de la culture. Anita Vaivade a rejoint le réseau mondial de facilitateurs de l'UNESCO dans le domaine du patrimoine culturel immatériel en 2017. Elle a codirigé le projet de recherche Osmosis, une étude internationale visant à comparer les législations nationales sur le patrimoine culturel immatériel (2014-2019).

Ľubica VOĽANSKÁ

Mgr. ĽUBICA VOĽANSKÁ, PhD is a senior research fellow at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava. She studied ethnology and history at Comenius University in Bratislava, the University of Regensburg and Vienna University. She holds a doctoral degree from the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology of the Slovak Academy and Comenius University in Bratislava. In a long-term perspective, she is dealing with the ethnological/anthropological research of historical anthropology, intangible cultural heritage, intergenerational relations, kinship and family, old age as well as (auto) biographical research. She focuses mainly on the connection between the “big” history and the lives of individuals in the context of the social structures they are a part of. She cooperates actively with NGOs and works as trainer and facilitator in the area of intercultural communication, cultural heritage and civic education via innovative and participative methods of learning. She is the Vice-President of the Council of the Minister of Culture of Slovak Republic for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage, worked as member of the Committee for the Evaluation of Proposals for Inscription in the Representative List of ICH in Slovakia and the List of the Best Practices of Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Slovakia and is active as the member of the Evaluation Body at the UNESCO Convention 2003 for the period 2019-2022. Ľubica VOĽANSKÁ, titulaire d'un doctorat, est chercheuse principale à l'Institut d'ethnologie et d'anthropologie sociale de l'Académie slovaque des sciences à Bratislava. Elle a étudié l'ethnologie et l'histoire à l'Université Comenius de Bratislava, à l'Université de Ratisbonne et à l'Université de Vienne. Elle est titulaire d'un doctorat de l'Institut d'ethnologie et d'anthropologie sociale de l'Académie slovaque et de l'Université Comenius de Bratislava. Dans une perspective à long terme, elle s’intéresse à la recherche ethnologique/anthropologique à l'anthropologie historique, au patrimoine culturel immatériel, aux relations intergénérationnelles, à la parenté et à la famille, à la vieillesse ainsi qu’à la recherche (auto)biographique. Elle se concentre principalement sur le lien entre la « grande » histoire et la vie des individus dans le contexte des structures sociales dont ils font partie. Elle coopère activement avec des ONG et travaille en tant que formatrice et facilitatrice dans le domaine de la communication interculturelle, du patrimoine culturel et de l'éducation civique, en déployant des méthodes d'apprentissage innovantes et participatives. Gang ZHU

Zhu is a Bai Ethnic Minority from Dali, Yunnan Province, Southwest China. He received his M. A. in Ethnic Literature from the Graduate School of CASS in 2007, and Ph. D in Folklore from Minzu University of China in 2014. As an Associate Research Fellow, he currently works for Institute of Ethnic Literature, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He also serves as the Deputy Secretary General and Executive Board Member in the China Folklore Society. Zhu fait partie de la minorité ethnique bai de Dali, dans la province du Yunnan, au sud-ouest de la Chine. En 2007, il a obtenu une maîtrise en littérature ethnique à l’École supérieure de l’Académie chinoise des sciences sociales, et en 2014 il a obtenu son doctorat en études folkloriques de l’Université chinoise de Minzu. Il travaille actuellement en tant que chercheur associé à l’Institut de littérature ethnique à l’Académie chinoise des sciences sociales. Il est également Secrétaire général adjoint et membre du Conseil exécutif de la China Folklore Society.
