This case is designed to provide a compact, elegant solution for using and transporting your LIFEBOOK Tablet PC. The convertible bump case is designed so that you can use your system either in notebook or tablet configuration. Figure 1. The convertible bump case is designed so that you can use your system either in notebook or tablet configuration.

To open the case, unzip the wraparound zipper (Figure 2)

and lift the cover. Open the case so that it lies flat.

WHEN USING THE TABLET PC IN THE BUMP CASE, REMOVE THE PEN FROM THE PEN GARAGE AND STORE IT IN THE ELASTICIZED PEN HOLDER.

Notebook ConfigurationTo use your system in notebook configuration:

1. Open your Tablet PC so that the display is in notebook configuration.

2. Place the system into the case and tuck the front corners of the keyboard under the clear corner straps. (Figure 3)

3. Be sure the tablet is inserted completely in the base so that it is lying flush against the bottom.

4. With the display perpendicular to the base, attach the top of the display to the top of the case with the two elastic straps.

Tablet ConfigurationTo use your Tablet PC in tablet configuration:

1. With your Tablet PC in notebook configuration (as out-lined above), pull the two elastic straps up and away from the display.

2. Fold the top of the case flat so the display can rotate without interference.

3. Rotate the screen (Figure 4) and press the display latch so that it projects from the back of the display.

It is important to always latch the display to the base of the system when in tablet made or in closed notebook mode. Be sure to press the latch button prior to attempting to lift the display from the keyboard. Failure to do so could result in damage to the latch.

4. Attach the top of the display to the top of the case with the elastic straps at the top corners.

5. Lay the display flush with the keyboard so that the latch clicks into place.

6. Close the case cover and zip up the wraparound zipper.

7. Undo the velcro flap securing the cover and flip the cover over the back of the case (Figure 5).

8. Undo the velcro strips securing the hand strap (Figure 6).

9. Fold the cover three times and attach the velcro strip on the folded cover to the velcro strip that secured the hand strap.

Shoulder StrapThere are D-rings on the rear of the case at all four corners. Two of them are on the top corners, adjacent to the case handle; the other two are underneath the diagonal elastic protective strips on the rear bottom corners. There are also two D-rings on the top front of the case at the handle attach-ment points. To attach the shoulder strap, open the spring-loaded clips on the end of the strap, and attach them to two of the D-rings. The D-rings can also be used as an attach-ment point for a pen tether. (Figure 7 shows the location of the D-rings.)

Caring for the CaseThe convertible bump case is made of rugged materials, and is designed to withstand daily use. Treat the case as you would a quality briefcase or purse.

Occasionally, the case may become soiled. To clean it, brush it with a short-bristled brush. If necessary, use a clean cloth and warm soapy water to wash the soiled area. Do not submerge the case in water, as it may become warped.
