DESCRIPTION

While her public ministry was one of the most significant ever known in the Body of Christ, I take the greatest happiness in having shared intimate, private moments with her. Times when we stayed up all night playing "Connect Four" (I was never able to win against her); or when I had the humbling opportunity to study with her. Her ability to dissect scripture awed me and pushed me to want to be just like her. Personally, I could not have had a better, teacher, mentor and mother than she.

One Year After Receiving Her Reward In Glory Mom's Legacy Is As Strong As EverPastor Joel R. Peebles

There is not an hour that goes by when I am not reflec-tive of the amazing life lived by my Mother. I can still feel the warmth of her touch and

that wonderful smile she exhibited each time she uncovered a deep revelation em-bedded within God's Word.

As a small child, I remember leaping into her lap with excitement as she sang songs from old black and white movies, which we watched together on channel 13's Late Show and the Late, Late Show. Such songs as A Bushel and A Peck and Pillow Talk still ring in my ears today. Her me-lodious voice was also loved by all those in the congregation who heard her sing the songs that have become our most cher-ished, Oh Happy Day or He'll Do It Again.

And while I know she is with Dad, Jamie

and Johnny preaching and teaching up the proverbial “Storm in Glory;” I, like you, miss her so much. The 12th of this month marks one year since her departure and approximately two years since she physically stepped into the sanctuary. And while she has crossed over to her reward, I can still feel her spirit. Her heartbeat is felt in the inners of my soul. Her words still ring in my ears and her wisdom is a guiding force of my life. The greatest thing about that is I know you feel the same heartbeat and the closeness of her soul.

As her only remaining child of birth, I miss my mother. But I take such great homage in realizing that she has left me thousands of brothers and sisters, like you, to love and cherish. So while, during this month, there might be a tear in our eyes, remember Mom’s Words... "Keep loving...Keep praising and never forget to give God All The Glory!!!"

I love you,Joel(known to Mom as "Joey")
